When you go up the route from Lavender town save go to the old man pause quickly before he catches you and fly to cerulean city and go up the route where you found the rocket and then go to the slow-poke trainer battle his lvl.14 slow-poke and then fly back to lavender and go up the route to find the old man if you you've done this correctly the pause screen will come up and you'll find mew.


The people who told you to trade for a pokemon with cut and go through get surf and come back to the boat was wrong
