Yes it is possible to catch any pokemon without the masterball, you just need to weaken it alot and keep throwing ultra balls and timer balls and acasionly a poke or great ball because it may just work:wink:.
Also use net balls on kyogre.
But most people use their masterball on Lati@s because it runs in the first turn.

Have a pokemon put them to sleep, and then weaken it. If you have something that knows false swipe, that would work wonderfully.

Or have alot of skills and just keep tossing those balls. :eh:

Well, that might get expensive if you dont have a team that can beat the E4 quickly for cash, or an amulet coin.

Well, to me, firstly, its DEFINITLY possible. Just takes a long time...
To increase your chances, FROZEN and SLEEP status increases its catch rate by 10%.
BURN, PARALYZED, POISONED increase your catch rate by 5%.
CONFUSION increases it by 2%.
I am not sure about the ATTRACT status. I read the above information from somewhere... which I forgot...
Well, best of luck.

u can also raise the chance by decreasing it's speed to 12.5% (3 scary faces, 6 string shots or 6 rock tombs) I have never read this in any faq, but when I do it, I catch them faster than when I don't do it.
I'm not sure if reducing any other stat helps too, but it may works

To keep Latias fighting you could either find a pokemon with shadow tag or magnet pull or have a nosepass use block which forces them to staying in battle......................

Magnet Pull works only on Steel type... It won't work on Psychic/Dragon Lati@s.
You can catch any legendary pkmns w/o using the masterball. just save your game right before you approach that pkmn (ex: before you battle rayquaza, save your game 1st coz in this case, if you fail to catch it or ran out of pokeballs or any of its type, you can reset the game.) But it is very hard to capture because you have to really give an effort coz unlike the masterball, you have to use many balls before you catch it but if your lucky, even w/o damaging your opponent, sometimes the ball cat catch it w/o fail.

1. Save in front of Legendary
2. Weaken/Put to Sleep
3. Throw Ultra/Great Balls
4. If the battle lasts, try Timer Balls.
5. Do the Numa Numa dance when you catch it.

That is basically what you do, but parylizew works to since it's not self curable.

Yes you can i remember when i capature Groundon in my emerald with a pokeball i was like :eh:
My friend's brother captured Mewtwo with the first Ultra Ball. oO;;
Anyway, back on subject. Spend most of your time capturing any legendary (well, those titans that don't run away like Latios, Raikou and others) with weakening to the lowest Hit Points you possibly can. Mewtwo's Recover got on my nerves in that way, because I'd get him down to red and he'd heal himself...
Next, use a status-inflicting move, or just use one during the battle. I had no sleep-inducing move for Mewtwo, so I counted on the possibility of paralysis from Body Slam for Mewtwo when it didn't use Safeguard. Of course, you don't have to worry about Safeguard or Recover for Kyogre or Groudon (I think...).
What I did was record what I did for every turn on my computer, numbering each turn. Use Ultra Balls when they're in the red (or use False Swipe from a powerful Pokemon to get them to one Hit Point). The capture rate of the Timer Ball increases every ten turns. I used my first (and I think only) Timer Ball on the twenty-third turn. If you're lucky, you'll catch the legendary with an Ultra Ball before then.
