stuck in petalburg city! eep!

i just beat 'dad' and got the HM SURF.. but.. slight problem!! i didn't have a water pokemon so i couldn't teach anything surf, and i don't have a fishing rod to fish, and that old sailor dude has gone, so i'm pretty much stuck, frustrating!! anyone know what to do?? xx

Zigzagoon is the most common pokemon and learns surf. Lotad too if you are in Saphire

Use Zigzagoon. Surf is useful on him anyway.

If you are playing Emerald, there's a wild Maril near where Briney lives.

Zigzagoons are weak though. Catch a water pokemon with a rod, and teach it surf.
