i rarly come on these boards but hey thers a time for everything i am just asking in g/s/c why is night called nite were they trying to act cool or what?:confused: and i am quite new so excuse me if there already had a topic about this

no in pokemon gold silver and the rest when its night time instead of calling it night they call 'nite' is it in my game only or what:confused:

I think it's either an american spelling or just a shorter version of night. Yay! My 500th post!

Good question, maybe they just needed it to be shorter or they could only use a small number of letters for it or something.

Yeah, I think there are only four letters, because 'morning' is shortened to simply 'morn'

I don't know if I'm right or not, but isn't nite in the dictionary? If it is, it's only there as a variation of night, but I could have sworn it was in there.

I just checked our dictionary. No, nite isn't in there -- the game merely uses 'nite' as a variation of 'night':smile: .
