It's come to my attention that no one is paying much of any attention to ole PE2K Radio lately. I've left the station down the past few days intentionally to see if anyone would noticed. I've received no PMs, e-mails, or comments on the PE2K Radio site.

Why am I running this with no support behind it?

I'll be leaving the station down unless I can get some solid reasons why we should keep it. It was a good idea, and fun to run, but it seems that there's limited to no support for it at all, so why keep it around?

Anyways, if by some twist of fate we manage to get dozens of members excited and listening in, then I'll gladly keep it running. I'll check back in a day or two to see if anyone even responded to this post.

I surely have been on it alot. I was too attracted listening, and never got the chance to comment. My vote is: KEEP IT ONLINE.

Eh, I would feel bad if it was suddenly gone for good when we've done so much with it in the past...

Here are some of my ideas, if you think they're worth implementing...

- Have contests where winners get to select one song of their choice to put on the radio. Just as long as there's no swearing or sexual themes (No Insane Clown Posse, you know what I mean). I think this would be an interesting mix, since people will get the chance to share their music and see what everyone else likes.

- I would say take off the Smashing Live stuff. It's good the first time around, but some of those songs are LONG, and after you've heard them once or twice, they get kind of dulled. Plus, classical music isn't everyone's thing, and even though its a version from a very popular video game, it has its limits.

- Okay, hate to do this, but the radio shows... should really only be five minutes long and should really kind of appeal to everyone on the forum. Five or Six minutes isn't bad, but a 30 minute radio show will probably only be heard once. If it gets put on again, people will be like "Eh, I heard this already," and they'll turn it off. Also, I'd say that once a radio show has been on for two weeks, then would be a nice time to take it off.

- When it comes to Pokemon music, play the stuff from the movie soundtracks. I love "My Best Friends," "Pikachu (I choose you!)," and "The Time Has Come (Pikachu's Goodbye)" are all incredibly good, and I've never even heard them once on PE2K radio. Meanwhile, there are truckloads of others out there, I think they would be great on the radio.

I have plans for my show, but I don't have a microphone, because my other one broke...

Anyways, its my new show called 'Adventures in Staffing' where I plan to integrate my PE2K Staff Job into it along with ToD and other random stuff.

If PE2K Radio is to survive and thrive, it needs to be brought to the masses. Not everyone reads the TMI forum, so if someone can make some polls, or post info about it or whatnot, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be dredging PE2K Radio's files up once again within the next day or so, pending some more response. I just don't feel there's a huge amount of support for it (as in listeners).

I agree with you, Neo. I'll take down the Smashing Live stuff, and the shows are on a rotation while the show makers are on hiatus. Until more shows start coming in, the playlist feels incredibly tiny without the ones on there now.

I like the idea of contests as well, so if anyone wants to think those up and hold them, I'll gladly add the music to the playlist.

I opened up the PE2K Radio to Anime and Video Game music along with Pokemon music recently, and someone generously referred me to his collection, but I had issues getting any of the music from my Mac, so I was unable to add any of that onto the playlist.

It's always best that files be sent to my Gmail if it's under 5 megs in size, as I'm guaranteed to get it. TSH4Life@gmail.com -- simple, and easy to remember, I think.

Anyways, pending more response, I'll start tuning the server up so we can once again broadcast.

Thanks for the response thus far. It's more than I expected, but I'd still like to wait and see if we get a bit more response before I go broadcasting again.

My deal is that I'll keep pumping shows out, if you keep posting them. Basically, if we can somehow coordinate the my show to a specific timeframe (means that both you and I are forced into deadline-based schedules, which actually gets me moving) of the week/bi-week, then just dump that show onto the download section for ppl to donwload. This way, the station itself will always be refreshed; people really aren't going to listen to shows more than once anyway, so putting things shows on rotation is a bad idea, as Neo suggested.
