Forum Banner Contest

[PokemonElite2000]

I'm holding a contest for a forum banner (for this forum of course), that will replace the image on the top left of the forum. If you want to participate, please read the rules carefully:

Rules
Maximum size: 500x85 (Could be smaller if you like, but no smaller than 209x85)
Maximum of two entries per person.
Accepted file types: JPG, GIF, PNG
The deadline is July 18th.
Must include the words "Pokemon Elite 2000 Forum"

How to Submit
Just upload your image somewhere, and provide a link to it. You can use http://www.uploadimages.net/ to upload your images (it's free). Once you have a link to your image, just submit the link here in this thread.

Tips
The forum colors aren't going to change, at least for the time being, so it might be a good idea to make your banner compatible with the forum colors (for example, an all red banner might not look good on this blue/white forum).

Also, I might ask the winner to adjust a few things, so it would be helpful if you can save your work if any changes needs to be made.

I worked with the forum colors and I love how it turned out! I have saved it as a png and as a psd file for those who care. It looked strange if I put forum in it so I left it out... if you want me to put it in... lemme know!

Well, might as well submit. I've never drawn a ludicolo before so I hope it's good. THIS IS NOT MY FINAL RESULT. I'm not done with it yet, I'm still contemplating different text, and other stuff, and I want some feed back... I'm pretty sure it's the right size, anyway, I hope it's alright, and I'm planning on juicing up the back ground to make it look 3-D with the blue sticking out and the green going away into the darkness...

I resized it to the required size, but I love the simple designs of kenshins and otikeus banner. Though I love how mine is... I don't know.... Hmmmm.... I don't like how Ash is in there and the colors of May/Brendan clash with the forum sorta... amybe recolor them to match the color theme? Oh, and here is an example of my banner on the forum... not too bad IMO.

Otikeu: I love it, but I honestly can't stand Ash at all, and I agree with Matthew on the May and Brendan part, they clash with the forum and the banner itself. I suggest putting an image of a Pokemon or two there (maybe Latios/Latias...yeah that would look better). If you fix that minor part up a bit, you'll probably have my vote, lol.

Yup, and the cool thing is that I am new with Photoshop! I downloaded it not to long ago ... 2 days ago ... Anyways, We'll see who wins! Alittle healthy competition isn't a bad thing ... right?

Ya, but I can always change the picture(s) The main idea is the white/blue BG shapes and the title. The images can be taken off instantly. About the Pokeball image, ya it is a bit low quality ... But I guess I can try to find another small PB off of google lol.

the reason I didn't want to add any pokemons or characters or such is cause there's all tons of people visiting the site and a lot holds different opinion with diff pokemons and characters, etc. diff views, diff everything, can't have everyone like the same thing etc.

It's really a detail, but it's too big. it's 500x89 instead of 500x85, which is the max. size.plus, it doesn't look all that good :neutral:

Dude..........

First of all, her's matches the current theme more than your's does. Plain white with a silver-white Poke Ball and a whitish-purple touch to some plain lettering that says "Pokemon elite 2000". Unlike your's, she got the freaking colors right to match this theme.

Second of all, the 500 x 85 sizing is just the general idea for what the limit is here. If it was blantly obvious that it went over the 500 x 85, then that'll be a penalty.

Thirdly and finally, think before you talk sh!t about someone's work.

1st of all, no reason to get angry.

2nd of all, from an objective point of view, mine does match the pe2k colors. maybe not the grey BG, but all the tables.

3rd of all, I think the maximum size should be obeyed. no biggy if it isn't, but I just wish I knew that rules weren't that strict.

Da*n Sophia, great job .. just two things:

(1) You did "POKEMON ELITE 2000", but forgot "FORUMS". You might have to edit it in ... or maybe not.
(2)The VBulletin sign is ... well, the mean reason this banner contest is to find a PE2K banner, and that is Vbulletin's sign ... not PE2K's so it doesnt look to good. Maybe create a PE2K sign ... symbol ...

Whoa! There's a lot of insanely good stuff here - my personal favourite so far is Rachel's original, although it wouldn't look perfect up there at the top with the forum colours. It's still incredible and the colorised version is brilliant still - and I have to say I really like Crystal Blue's effort there! =D

Hey guys, I have an entry that I finished a long time ago, about a month ago to be exact. Ryan had already mentioned to me about a contest so I decided to start beforehand. Hold Everything! Last minute entry! Luckily I got home from Mexico in time for me to make last minute modifications to fit the PE2K's criteria, and here it is:
