The Creation of the Pokemon World

Recently, strange things have been occuring on our beloved planet Earth. Things which to many seem preposterous, absurd, impossible and downright insane. Those are thoughts from those that have never heard of Pokemon.

Over the last few months, sightings of strange, almost mythical creatures have increased dramatically. Some say they don't exist. That it's all a big hoax. Others have reported to the media that the creatures look like Pokemon(fictional creatures starring in a popular video game series).
After hearing some of these reports, the public that think this is all a hoax, finally had someone to blame it on, and decided the creator of Pokemon, Satoshi Tajiri, was behind this.

A highly successful news team from Sky News were sent to interview Mr Tajiri in his home, and hopefully receive some answers. They haven't returned.

Someone has got to figure out what is happening to our planet and it's inhabitants. And fast.

Now that the introduction is done, for those of you who don't understand, I'll explain.
This role-play is about my interpretation of how the Pokemon World was created, and the end of the introduction basically sets our characters a destination, and what they need to find out.
However, Pokemon are appearing more frequently, and can be seen almost everywhere. Almost everywhere.

The Pokemon, having only come into the world recently, are confused about their status on this planet, and have started attacking everyone and thing in sight. We have decided to find Satoshi Tajiri, and discover what is happening.

I created this role-play in the hopes that it will be a long running and successful one, as I believe it is quite original. I'f I'm wrong though, I'd like to know who created the first one like this. Anyway, I got this idea by wondering, "How was the Pokemon world created?" and by using this as a baisis, I decided I would use evolution as my answer to that question.

No major bunnying, and if it's neccessary to bunny someone, ask them first.
No God-moding. Be realistic. I've gone to the bother of attempting to make the setting believable, so make the story like that as well.

Looks: Short, straight red hair and black eyes. She wears a purple shirt and blue skirt, also has blue shoes similar to the ones Belle from Beauty and the Beast wears with her blue dress.

Personality: Very much a trickster, and will do anything to make her dreams come true.

Side: Pokemon

History: Not much is known about her, except for the fact that she comes from Bonney Lake, Washington, U.S.A.

Other:The only art that Roxie has ever done were of Pokemon, and other Virtual Pets. She hoped that she could one day be like her Japanese idol: Satoshi Tajiri.

Occupation: Student/*Part Time Animal Tamer (Trains uncontrollable animals, and occasionally has to tame some of the wilder ones)

Looks: Short dark brown hair, sea blue/ leaf green eyes, just above the average height of any 13 year old, usually wears a white t-shirt, dark blue trousers, black/white trainers and a one-strapped backpack. He isn't very muscular, and is in between the weight categories of "Fat and Skinny."

Personality: Kind, Humorous, gentle, caring and slightly sarcastic. When need be, he can become serious and strategic.

Side: Pokemon

History: From a young age he has loved animals, and when the Pokemon games came out, he began playing them, and soon recognised the series as a great and unique idea. He has always wondered what it would be like to have Pokemon companions.

Other: Has a way with animals, and loves playing the Pokemon Games.

Occupation: linguist
Looks: sensable; t-shirt, jeans, jacket, sneakers backpack with various foreign language dictionaries. Average height and weight, brown hair and a little pale.
Personality: A know-it-all who uses to many long (sesquipedalian.^.^) words, but can still be cool.
Side: Pokemon—His theory is... well, complicated, so I'll explain it in a further post.
History: Graduated from Harvard with a entymology degree and later became a college proffessor.
Other: Speaks fluently in nine languages (English ((most dialects)), Greek, Latin, German, French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, and Japanese) and is learning a few others. Has created four languages of his own, one of which he speaks often to himself.

OOC: Well everyone, I'm not waiting any longer, if anyone wants to join near the beginning of this Role-play, post it here, but if it's anytime after the 5th Page (if we make it that far) then PM me. I know I'm double posting, but this is just to start the role-play off. Once again, I hope this is successful!

*Ace was in school when he heard about the Sky News team's sudden disappearance. At first he dismissed it from his mind, thinking that it wasn't important and that only boring adult's with nothing to do but watch the news would care about it. He was wrong.
Later on, he returned home from school, wondering whether to buy anime A, or anime B, when he noticed something on the television. Not something being shown on television, but a creature actually on top of the T.V!
Ace, shocked more at the fact that there was a strange animal on top of his television than the fact that it had been on all day, swiftly conducted 2 plans. He would either 1), Scare the animal away, or 2), Catch the animal and get a closer look.

Plan 1 was dangerous, as the animal might rear up and attack, rather than run away. Plan 2 seemed more interesting and anyway, it would tell him a lot more about this mystery creature.

Slowly, Ace walked closer to the Television and, although the animal growled constantly and kept muttering something, Ace managed to get to the T.V in one piece. He whispered to the animal;

"Sshhh…No ones going to hurt you...shhhh...I'm here to help, don't worry..."

*Suddenly, without any apparent reason, the animal stepped forward into the light. Shocked, Ace jumped backwards. The creature shot forwards, darted under Ace's legs and jumped out of the window. Being only on the ground floor of his 1 storey house, the animal would be fine, but Ace wasn't thinking of that right now. He was more concerned about the creature's looks.

"That looked like a Pokemon! A Pokemon for crying out loud! They don't exist! Do they? And anyway, if it did, what would a Pokemon be doing in my house? More importantly, why would a SQUIRTLE, a water Pokemon, be in my house!?"

*All these thoughts shot through Ace's brain and, confused as he was, a sudden noise from the T.V brought him back to his senses.
Collapsing into his favourite seat, he watched the introduction screen for Sky News fade away to show a young, pretty reporter, who seemed to have been in a rush, as her hair was sticking out awkwardly, and she was apparently spluttering out her words as fast as possibly, rather than speaking in a calm and clear voice. Ace caught the gist of the story though, as it was aided by many horrifying and sickening pictures.

It seemed Pokemon were popping up everywhere, and attacking everything in sight.
Scientists were confused, the Emergency services were being called up every other minute, with pleads of help coming from victims of the attacks, or their friends or neighbours!
Ace knew something had to be done. But what?

* Rowyn walked into his boss' office.

" Sir, you wanted to see me? "

Tim: " Yes, I want you to go and take pictures of Pokemon. "

" Sir, they don't exist. "

Tim: " Yes they do actually, haven't you seen the news!! "

" No, I only watch a daily supply of anime. "

Tim: " Well, look at this news paper, it says Pokemon are popping up everywhere. "

* Rowyn face put on a look of surprise, but not at the newspaper.

Tim: " What's wrong Rowyn? "

* Rowyn pointed behind his boss.

" Sir, there's a Pikachu reading that game magazine. "

Tim: " Rowyn, you know what the best thing to do is now? "

" No. "

Tim: " Run!!!!!! "

" I'm not moving, you said you wanted pictures and besides, if I compliment it it won't attack me. "

* Rowyn walked up to the Pikachu that had stopped reading the magazine and looked at Rowyn.

" Come here lil' fella, don't worry, I won't hurt you. "

* The Pikachu looked at Rowyn.

Pikachu: " Pika Pika Pika ( You don't happen to know where am I do you ) "

" What the hell did he just say???!! "

* The Pikachu then got up, jumped over Rowyn then ran out of the building.

" That was queer, but I've gotta chase it. "

* Rowyn ran down the stairs of the building and chased the Pokemon.

Roxie Heart was sitting on her front porch on one of those little "swing" things, drawing a picture of her favorite Pokemon: Charizard. She finished the lineart after about an hour after starting the picture, and held it up, sighing. The young girl smiled, enjoying the pose she chose for the Charizard to be in. The pose she decided was a battle pose, but it was in the air.

Just as Roxie thought she was alone, she felt something on the back of the swing, as if something was pulling on it. She looked behind her and gasped with glee. It was a Charmander, right behind her! She had never watched the news, for she was always so engulfed by her art and anime that she didn't have time, and this was the first time she had ever heard of Pokemon actually appearing. Roxie began to speak, but as soon as the Charmander heard Roxie's voice, it scampered away as fast as it could.

*Getting up from his seat, Ace knew what he must do. He had decided to tame that Pokemon! Turning the television off, he hurried up the stairs, and quickly changed out of his school clothes, and into his normal clothes, which consisted of a white t-shirt, dark blue trousers, and a dark blue, short sleeved shirt.
Ace grabbed his one-strapped bag off the floor, where he usually kept his games and anime in. Not today.
After emptying the bag, Ace packed some treats for the Pokemon into it, along with food and drink for himself, a map, money (About £80), spare clothes, and finally, his toy Pokedex from when Sapphire was realised. Who knew, maybe it could come in handy, especially with the information it held. Before leaving, Ace noticed his diary, lying on his bedside table, and thought, "What the hell, I'll take it with me." He stuffed some pens into the backpack and "voila," he was ready to go.
Ace left a message, telling his parents where he had gone, and not to worry, even when it was obvious that they would worry anyway.

It had only been 5 or six minutes since Ace had last seen the Squirtle, though it was hard not to miss its trail of water, leading up the street towards Town. He began to run, and while Ace was running, he began to wonder, "Why are the Pokemon appearing?".

Still following the trail, Ace also realised that something huge was happening, and that depending on which way you looked at it, he was on an Adventure!

" Damn I hate fast Pikachu's. "

* Rowyn was running down the pavement chasing the Pikachu he found, it suddenly turned into an alley way, so Rowyn turned in there to follow it.

" Holy crap!! "

* Rowyn knew just there he had made a big mistake, because in front of him was the Pikachu, a Raichu, a Pichu, an Electakid, an Electabuzz and a Manectric, he then thought of something, he then chucked a bag of sandwiches into the ditch and they began feasting happily on them.

" Now I've got to try and tame them, just in case one of them decide for a killing spree. "

"Shoot! I'm going to be late for class!" Ben said as he rushed over the bridge to the Language Building of the local university.

His car was in the shop, but he figured he could make it on his bike. He soon realized his folly: he needed to bring all his notes on cuneiform: which certainly won't fit in his backpack, and he couldn't carry six extra books while steering a bicycle, so he ran on foot.

"There should be hoards of students on this bridge, albeit a short one," he thought to himself. He was right, though: even though the 89-year-old cobblestone bridge was only sixteen feet long, it was the easiest was across the campus brooke to the language (and a few other) building(s). "Actually," he continued thinking, "I haven't seen a single student, even from the run from my house! This..."

"AAHH!" he screamed, and fell down, a book or two falling into the river. The thing which caused him to scream was laughing histerically in the brooke. It was humanoid, but definatelynot human: It was about four feet tall, with oily blue, kind of like a duck. It had a pale yellow beak, claws, and a circular opaque red gem on its forehead.

"Is that... Are you a Golduck...?" Ben stared at the creature.

The thing shrieked "Choooo Duck!" and hid under swam back further towards the Music Building.

*After a few minutes of searching for the Water Pokemon, Ace spotted something. The Squirtle was standing at the edge of a short bridge that lead to the local university.
Moving closer, step by step, Ace whispered:

"Don't jump into the river...please don't jump...come on over here...I have some snacks you might like..."

*Looking at him, the Squirtle moved forward, pretending to inspect the food from a distance. After what was obviously an attempt at laughing, the creature pulled a face, soaked Ace with water and dived into the river.

* After squeezing out as much of the water in his clothes as he could, and brushing some droplets out of his eyes, he glanced around, trying to think of where he should look for the Squirtle next. That was when he noticed someone else on the bridge, staring at a Golduck that was swimming away towards one of the buildings.

"Hey there, did you happen to see what direction a Squirtle went?"

Ben, still shocked from the encounter with what he thought was a Pokémon, walked down to the shallow river to retrieve the soaking books that he dropped, just after he heared a bumping sound that he dismissed.

"Taoge... mystll phrêsd iachei so*..." Ben mumbled to himself in his invented language. He was just starting to shake the excess water from the pages when he heard a voice about ten meters down the brooke.

"Hey there, did you happen to see what direction a Squirtle went?" the voice said.

Ben looked down the river to see a kid in his early teens. He was waving his arms to get Benedict's attention.

"Oh, so there are inhabitants on the campus! So, a Squirtle you say? Could that be it?"

Ben pointed to a dazed blue turtle on slumped in the grass.

"Now that I think about it, the beast must have rammed straight into the side of the bridge (that's what the bump was). He looks unconcious." Ben walked closer to the water Pokémon in order to examin it.

Looks: Her eye colour is light blue. She always wears this watch that her mother gave her. She has yellow hair in two braids. She wears a white T-Shirt with a pokeball on it. She wears a dirty pair of black shorts and a worn out pair of sandles.

Personality: Sometimes shy, but most of the time friendly.

Side: Pokemon

History: She has lived an easy life. She has entered one of her pokemon board games into a contest and won. Her teacher thinks that she can go far with macking games.

Other: She loves game mostly Pokemon. She loves to work at her parents
Game Shop. Also wants to create games when older.

Edit: I didn't know my looks was not in compleat seneces. I made my looks better. I add a history. It is not very good. I hope thats better.

OOC: Sorry if this sounds like I'm a total jerk, but unfortunately, I have to say it (nothing personal, just something I do). Your form is fine, but I'd like it if you put in at least something about her history and finish off the Looks sentence (the curiosity is overwhelming, What else is she wearing???). *Ace slipped down the steep hill leading to the book, and scrambled over to check if the Squirtle was ok. Glancing at the man, he noticed that some of the books he was carrying were absolutely soaking, but decided to ask about that another time.

"Yeah, this looks like him..."

*Checking the Pokemon for cuts or bruises, Ace noticed a bump on its head.

"Ouch. That must have hurt...Poor thing... Oh, by the way, my name's Aaron. What about you?"

*He looked up at the man briefly, before pouring some icy cold water over the Water Pokemon's head.

The boy and Benedict looking at the Squirtle with pity, but he didn't seem too hurt.

"Yeah, this looks like him..." The boy said, pointing to the bump on the Pokémon's head, he continued, "Ouch. That must have hurt...Poor thing... Oh, by the way, my name's Aaron. What about you?"

"Oh, hi! It's good to meet you, Aaron. I'm Benedict...or Ben...or I guess Prof. Dietyrui*. I'm a linguist, and a Proffessor hear at the University. I'm late for my evening lecture, so... um... I hope we see eachother later. Sorry for leaving so soon, Aaron, and I hope your turtle's okay!" Ben started to run towards the language building.

He opened the door only to find the hall was pitch black, with a student of his, Jacob McKey running towards him.

"Professor!!! Get away from here!!" Jacob yelled frantically as he ran to meet him, "Get out of the building and lock the door! I'm the last person in here so you don't need to worry about anyone! Maybe it'll starve to death!!" he ran as fast as he could away.

"What...?" Ben soon saw what drove all the students from the vacinity—A big, orange, winged dragon with a hungry look in its eyes. It took in a deep breath and, as strange as it seemed, exhaled a giant fire ball heading straight for Benedict.

OOC: Just in case anyone is confused, Aaron is Ace's real name. "Ace" is just a nickname given to him by his friends.

"Nice to meet you to Proffessor! Bye!"

*Ace shouted to the man, and watched him run towards one of the buildings of the university.
Glancing down at the Squirtle, Ace received an unpleasant surprise. It seemed the Squirtle was going to be fine, and that was good news but, it was also standing still, as if imitating a statue. However, most statues don't sniff the air around them and scowl.

"Squirtle...what's wrong? What's annoying you?"

*For the first time since they had met, the Squirtle looked up into Ace's eyes with a mixed look of fear and determination.
Suddenly, Ace knew what was wrong.
He couldn't explain how, but he knew that he and the Squirtle had to make it to that building.
Now.
Picking up the Squirtle, Ace scrambled quickly up the hill, before rapidly sprinting towards the Languages building, noting how the Proffessor had opened the door, and was now talking, well, shouting out to someone Ace could not see.

Someone brushed past the Proffessor, and Ace had just about made it to the door when he saw the ball of fire. Instinctively, he shouted out to the Squirtle, with a hint of a plea in his voice:

"Squirtle, WATER GUN!"

*Hoping the burst of water that the Pokemon might send out would be enough to stop himself and the Proffessor from burning to a crisp, he ran towards the man and roared:

"BEN! MOVE!"

Roxie scrambled out of the chair, leaving her artwork there as she raced after the fleeing Charmander.

"Hey, wait! I don't wanna hurt you!"

She yelled, leaping to grab the Pokemon. The Charmander jumped into the air just as Roxie neared it, and continued running. It didn't attack, or even turn around. It just kept running.

Roxie sighed as she got up, now covered in dirt and grass stains. Instead of looking downhearted, like you would expect someone would look after an encounter like that, she looked determined and joyful.

"I might not have captured it, but at least I saw one in person...now my art will be even better!"

She turned around, her eyes closed with glee until she felt warm breath against her face. Opening her eyes, she saw a terrifying sight: an angry Rapidash! Roxie backed away, her face now pale with fear as the Rapidash glared at her, snorting furiously.

Cathy was sitting down on a hill when she saw a something brown dash by her. She quitly stood up and walked over to the bush where the creature was. She bent down and saw an Eevee. She rembered it from one of her pokemon game.

"Don't be afriad Eevee" she tells the pokemon.

"Veve" It shoutes right befor it runs.

Cathy ran over to it an picked it up. The pokemon strugled to get out of her arms. She told it that she wanted to help it and not hurt it. The Eevee then opens its mouth and bites her arm.

"Ow!" Cathy yells as she lets go of Eevee.

She watchs as the Eevee runs away. She looks at the bite mark on her arm and sighs. She now knew how hard it was going to be to make friends with the pokemon.

Occupation: Animal Trainer
Looks: 5'9" hispanic, with long, wavy, auburn, hair, Hazel eyes, wears a white tank-top, a white cloth headband, Hip-hugging bluejeans, and Tan tennis shoes.
Personality: A friendly, observant, book-worm who loves animals and young children, and gets along well with most other people.
Side: Pokemon
History: Lived with her parents in a suburb of a large city. When she was no longer forced by law to go to school her uncle hired her as a hand on his ranch. She now lives there in her uncle's house very much contented with her work and her relative freedom.
Other: She has been taught how to wield a pistol (and has a liscence for it) for protection against wolves and other wild animals that might attack when she is guarding part of her uncle's herds. Although she has never had cause to use it, she carries it everywhere. (She promised her uncle she would never go out alone, or on a cattle run, without it.)

But, I haven't been on in a few days because I've become addicted to the Spiderman 2 and Sims "Bustin' Out" games :oops: . Anyway, on with the role-play!

"BEN! MOVE!" was the last thing Ben heard before he instinctiveally(sp??) tumbled down the somewhat sloped campus into the brooke, just barely dodging the fireball emited from the Charizard.

"uh...." was all he could think as Ben lurched to a stop in the shallow water. A body-wide groan echoed through his body. "I think I broke a bone...or three" He suddenly flipped up as he noticed something: "MY BOOKS!!! THAT STUPID OVERGROWN GECKO INCINERATED MY BOOKS!!!! Where's that stupid Golduck...I'm gonna kick his ***!!!"

*After watching Ben tumble down the hill, Ace rolled along the ground, out of the way of the vicious creature's blasts.

"Squirtle, that's a Charizard, and in your basic form, you may not be able to beat him using only Water Gun! Lure him down to the water, I have a plan!"

*Sliding down the slightly sloped campus, Aaron shouted over to Ben.

" Ben, I'll need your help to get rid of that thing!"

*Reaching the brooke, Aaron noticed that it lead into a wide, slow-flowing river. The water felt cool, and seemed to be just cold and pure enough for his scheme to work.

I was walking aong the dirt path. I kicked a rock in front of me. It flew into a nearby bush. I then heard some weird sounds and an angry Mankey apeared. It then started to glow. When it stoped glowing an angry Primeape stood there.

"That Mankey just evolved into a Primeape" I said right befor I ran for my life.

I ran and ran untill I was pulled off the road by something. A Bayleef's vines were wraped arond me. The Bayleef smilled at me.

"Thanks" I say.

"Bay, Bay" the Baleef says as it walks off.

At least some pokemon are nice I say to myself.

OOC: Hey there everyone! If anyone's still checking this then I'll be amazed. Anyway, if anyone is, I'm glad. I was on Holiday for 2 weeks and wasn't allowed to use the computer before leaving. That meant I couldn't tell any of you I was going. Stupid I know, to leave it until the last minute, but that's what I'm like.

*Glancing over at Ben, Aaron estimated the amount of time he had before the Charizard got to them.

"Ben! We need to get another Water Pokemon for my plan to work!"

*Squirtle was sitting down beside Aaron, the top of his shell slightly singed. Noticing a strange look in his trainer's eyes, he realised he was going to have to fight the Charizard. A Charizard! The THIRD FORM OF CHARMANDER'S EVOLUTION! He was still in his basic form! How the heck could he defeat such a huge beast?
Although nervous, the Squirtle stood up and kept his cool, waiting for his next command.

Name: Yuki Sakuraneko
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Occupation: Artist, Voice Actress
Looks: Yuki has short orange hair in two pigtails and blue eyes. She wears a black tank top with a pink jacket over top. The jacket was black snowflakes on it. She also wears a pink skirt with a black line on the bottom. She wears black boots, too, with fake wing wings on the heels.
Personality: Yuki is very shy and doesn't talk often. Because of her past she'd afraid to meet people and make friends so tries to avoid people.
If you do manage to make her cold sheild melt then you'll find Yuki to be very friendly and caring. She does everything for people who are her friends and does her best to keep them safe.
Side: Pokemon!
History: Her real name was Tenchi but her adoptive parents change it to Yuki, which is japanese for Snow. When Yuki was a little girl she had tons of friends and lived a very pleasent life. She lived in a small town and knew everyone there. She was thrilled to have so many friends.
When she turned 7 years old, Yuki won a contest and got to go watch a TV show get its voices. That's where she decided to be a voice actress someday.
When she returned to her home town she discovered that a fire had spread every where during a camp fire. Almost everyone she knew died or moved away. Her parents also died. She lost contact with everyone and cried every night.

After that, Yuki became very cold and shy. She didn't want to make friends, and still doesn't, because she's afraid of losing them and being hurt again.
Yuki started to watch TV and read comics, discovering a little world where creatures would become your friends and protect you no matter what. Ever since, Yuki has been a major Pokemon fan but avoids big gatherings of fans.

History: I have finished school a year ago and I am now a childrens TV news presenter. I love my job, I get paid good pay and get lots of fan mail. I live in the suburbs (which city?
