Problem Trading GC to GBA Colosseum

This is for my kid.

Hardware & Software
GC with Colosseum disc.
GBA with Sapphire card.
GC-GBA cable.

He gets to the place where you can trade Pokemon (forgot the name, starts with "p") on both devices.
He follows the instructions (saves, etc).
He then gets the screen (GC) where it tells you to hook up the GBA and window opens with the "press 'b' to cancel" instruction but then nothing happens.

What're we doing wrong?

Usually, in this case, the wire has came lose while you were trying to trade. It happens to my cousins alot. I recommend you just turn off, and turn on the system again.

I had my son go directly from battle mode (proving connection through the cable) to the trading place and he got a similar problem in battle mode. Turns out that when battling he was using the game cube controller and his brother was hooked in using his own GBA.

I had them try it again but with my other son's GBA and it worked fine. He was able to trade but it seems that some of the Pokemon from his GBA have gone away. I'll create another post for that one.

CJ says it only happened the first time, so we'll watch it to see if it happens again.
