This post is for my kid.

He recently traded some Pokemon from the GC Colosseum to his Sapphire on the GBA. After the trade he noticed that some of the Pokemon he had previously captured on the GBA were gone.

Is this the price for trading?
Is there something he did wrong?
How do you prevent this from happening again?

Maybe there's something wrong with the game itself. This once happened to me, except it was worse because my whole game was erased..... ****!! If this continues to happen, I think that getting another copy of Sapphire would be the best choice. That's just me. Maybe someone else has a "real" solution.

I have a idea or two, first send in a complant to nintendo and see if you can get it replaced, or sell it at eb and use the money you got from the game for a better or new copy

Based on what's been said here I asked him whether this loss of Pokemon is consistent or intermittent. He says that it only happened the first time so my suspicion is that it was human error to begin with.

Thanks for all the help.

Meh, budging in, but this kind of needs to be pointed out.

Everyone remember those cool copying glitches in the old GSC game? Those were caused by the way the game saves its data. Now, considering that RSE isn't perfect either, it might have been that somehow, the saving of the data on the Sapphire cartridge went wrong, resulting in a loss of data.

Now, there are a lot of ways to do this, but if I remember it right, turning off the GBA off too early or disconnecting it from the link cable could lead to this. So, keep those GBA's on and those link cables in until you've finished the trade.

These are the most common mistakes made. :P
