Question regarding Emerald as a remake/Plus Wii question

Hello everyone!

I've searched all five of the GB/DS game forums on here for the answers to the following (so don't think I didn't try beforehand!). Luckily I found the answer to another question on here, which was "Can you trade between GBA games on two DS machines?". The answer was no, so thanks for that.

I still cannot find the answer to the following though (please bear in mind that I've only played Pokemon as RPGs mostly. I've never traded Pokemon before):

1. Do I need to get Ruby/Sapphire once I have Emerald? Obviously with it being a remake of both games, I was expecting it to have the pokemon from both games inside it, but is this true? Its probably so obvious but I don't know the answer.

2. I know that Diamond/Pearl will allow uploads of the GBA pokemon. Even though its time consuming, is it possible to get ALL of the GBA Pokemon onto one GBA cart, then upload them to the DS slowly (so you end up with every Pokemon so far)?

3. I've never really used my Gamecube much, so I don't know about the trading between the GBA/Colosseum games. I now use my Wii for all my Gamecube games, so if I had a GBA game + Colosseum, can I connect the GBA OR a DS running the GBA game to the Wii. Hopefully this makes sense. I only ask as I noticed the Wii doesn't allow anything but the most official gear to connect to it (not even 3rd party controllers). It may not allow connections to the GBA, I don't know.


Seriously, I know nothing about the newer games because I've been on the PS2 for so long, so apologies if these are really easy questions.

There are a few Pokemon missing. Meditite and Roselia must be traded from Ruby or Sapphire, Zangoose must be traded from Ruby and Lunatone must be traded from Sapphire.

If you had all the Pokemon, you could do that, but as far as obtaining every Pokemon on one cartridge, there are a few event Pokemon like Mew, Deoxys, Jirachi and Celebi which can only be obtained from Nintendo Events and are no longer available, so you'd need a cheating device or someone to trade with to get them.

As for your final question, I don't have a Wii, so I can't help there, sorry, but I hope I helped a bit ^^;

Yes! that was the most perfect help I've recieved on those Q's so far! It seemed like I was going round in circles on Wiki and Poke Wikis trying to find the answers.

I had always thought that you could get all the Pokemon up to the DS games, but I was afraid to ask.
