Charmander didn't take that long to level up for me, unless you should have levels higher than Lv35 by the time you're on Rayquaza. Also, once Charmander becomes a Charizard, You can make Charizard remember the move Heat Wave, which comes in handy in a monster house, since Heat Wave gets every1 in the same room as you. Anyway, I'm doin' good with my Charizard.

I think I will restart with it. It probably isnt like that the whole game.

If you have a pokémon that levels quickly, later on it could slow down and vice versa.

Wait, then is my game glitched or something? My charmander was lv. 33 at mt. freeze.

Yeah Charmander does take a while, but from what i've seen so do most of the starter Pokémon in this game.

The first time I played through Mystery Dungeon Blue I used Charmander and he was very good, i'd recommend it.

Hmm never learned Heat Wave... maybe i'll try it out next time.

And I've made it all the way to Mt. Faraway on my new game and I haven't met one monster house >__>

Hmm ah well.

^^

Charmander is far from the slowest leveling pokemon you can get, i have had totodile and Torchic in past games and they both leveled far slower.

Pokemon like zigzagoon level fast but dont gain many stat points from leveling, Charmander levels considerabley slower but levels better.

these amounts of EXP are a lot on most Pokemon games were it is 1 on 1, but in pokemon Mystery dungeon you will be fighting lots of pokemon at once, so you can still level reasonabely quickly.

My charmander is a level 100 charzard now... and Kayos Charmeleon is only such a low level because he never uses it.

Not to mention that there is a lot of Grass types and others in which Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard would be able to OHKO with a good attack. Heat Wave is definitely one of those attacks to use for it (minus its tendency to miss, or else Flamethrower would be perfect.)

Charizard needs 1,059,860 Experience points to get to 100. However, when played right, he gets very high SpA.

Yeah I know I'm keeping it. I just beat Mt. Freeze like a couple hours ago and squirtle and char are both on lv. 24. I plan on using more joy seeds.
