The Plot:

The world as you knew it is no more. The end had come to most. The warnings had been ignored, and now the world is paying the price. They laughed when a few “maniacs” warned them of the meteor swarm that would pass dangerously close to the earth. After all, who would worry about a few space rocks? No real scientists were concerned, meteors passed through the solar system regularly, why should they worry? There had been to many warning of late, disasters that never happened. Wouldn’t this one be the same as the others? Unfortunately, it wasn’t the same as the others, this disaster was real.

At least the end came swiftly to most. The Meteors, the ones that were supposed to pass harmlessly by, suddenly, and unexpectedly, changed course. In an instant, hundreds of meteors the size of mountains were plummeting towards the earth. When they struck, they struck hard. Dewford, Fallarbor, Rustburo, Slateport, Verdanturf, Mauville, Violet City, Ecruteak, Olivine, Blackthorn, Azalea, Cerulean, Fuchsia, Pewter, Cinnabar, Viridian, all of them, were whipped off the map forever, with only huge craters left to mark there place. Billions perished in the meteor strikes.

Almost before the meteor shower ended however, they came, the soldiers in black, with the Greek letter of Omega on their chests. For that’s who they where, the Omegas. They came, herding the remaining human population like cattle, moving them out of the few remaining towns and cities, herding them into Saffron, Goldenrod, and Lilycove. There, they set up huge refugee camps, at least that’s what they called them. In reality, they were little more then walled cities, made into a prison for the remaining humans. In only a few days, every remaining human on earth was concentrated into the camps. It was only later a few found out the truth, that the meteor strikes hadn’t been a natural disaster. It had been planned by the Omegas. They whipped out billions of humans, and herded the rest into their camps, all to gain control of the world. And it had succeeded. For five years, humanity has been under complete control of the Omegas.

But not all were in the camps. Outside the walled cities, in the gigantic emptiness outside, there were some who resisted the Omegas. Some of them where criminals, some gangs staying behind to loot and murder for fun and profit, but also trainers, not willing to give up their pokemon to the Omegas. They remained outside, doing what they could to survive. The resistance was starting.

.................

Not far from the Refugee camp called Lilycove, on the very edge of the Safari Zone, a slight reflection caught the sun, glistening in the light. The reflection was from a pair of old binoculars, pointed at Lilycove. Slowly, the binoculars were lowered, revealing the face of a teenage girl, of about 18 years of age. She lay flat on her belly, hidden under thick bushes, watching Lilycove carefully with her sky blue eyes. Her hair was long, almost down to her rear, and was an earthy brown color, blending in with the ground around her. She wore a camouflage tank top in an effort to remain hidden, something very important for anyone living outside the camps. These days, capture meant one of two things, death, or a life time membership into the Omega’s organization. Other then the tank top, she wore only a very worn and dirty set of blue jeans and brown leather hiking boots, clothing fit for her new life. A few feet away am ancient looking leather bag was propped under the bushes, top open, showing a few meager supplies she had managed to procure lately. Around her waist she wore a thick leather belt, with three pokeballs clipped onto it. Her name was Tara Jareel, a “renegade trainer.”

Tara sighed sadly, fingering the pokeballs. She hadn’t always had only three pokemon. Before the meteor strike, she had a full team, plus a few others stored away at Professor Birch’s lab. But when the meteors had hit, she lost everything. She had left three of her pokemon at Professor Birch’s for the day, and had headed out with her pokemon to do some training. She had headed out far into the forest, to far to hear any of the warning about a meteor strike. The only forewarning she had was when her pokemon suddenly tensed and looked to the sky. She followed their gaze, and watched helplessly as the meteors fell, burning their way through the atmosphere. When they hit, the shockwave knocked her off her feet, and her head struck a tree. She was knocked out instantly.

It was hours later when she came to, her pokemon had tried to make her more comfortable, laying her out on the grass and cuddling against her to keep her warm. As soon as she could stand, she headed back to Littleroot, hoping everyone was alright. On the way back, she received a rude awakening when she tried to go through Oldale town. Oldale town was gone, nothing but a crater remained, and the rubble of a few buildings teetered on the edge, ready to fall in. As far as she could see, no one was alive. In a panic, Trisha took off for Littleroot, hoping against hope it had escaped disaster.

When she arrived at the edge of Littleroot, she fell on her knees, almost weeping in relief. Littleroot was still standing, everything was fine. But before she could enter the town, she saw that everything wasn’t fine. Pokemon were racing through the town, surrounding the inhabitants, driving them ahead of them like sheep. People in strange black uniforms were commanding the pokemon, ordering them to keep the townsfolk moving, and at the same time, attempting to comfort the townspeople, telling them everything would be fine. Tara saw Prof. Birch herded out of his lab, protesting loudly, as the uniformed soldiers moved in, ransacking the place. All Tara could do was watch, hidden in the tree’s on the edge of town, as the soldiers herded the townspeople out of sight, and then ransacked everything of value from the town, and then left, setting fire to Birch’s lab as they left.

Tara had remained were she was for a long time, until the sounds of the soldiers and townspeople faded completely out of hearing. She still stood their, until the light faded from the sky, and the only light came from the stars and the smoldering embers of Birch’s lab. Only then did she move into the town, peering into the abandoned buildings, calling out to see if anyone was left. No one was there; the town was utterly silent, except for the cries of the wild pokemon in the areas outside of town. Trisha sat down on the grass, wondering what on earth she should do now. She has nowhere to go now, her home town, Ecruteak, is ether destroyed, like Oldale, or evacuated, like Littleroot. Now, she has only two choices left, to go after the soldiers and follow them to wherever they were headed, or try and make it on her own.

Now, looking back, Tara had no doubts about her choice. She hadn’t known the full facts then, she hadn’t even known that she would have had to surrender her pokemon, but still, somewhere in the back of her mind, she had know that going with the soldiers would not have led to the life she wanted. Her new life was hard, that was certain. Food, shelter, and safety from the Omegas were her daily concerns now, at any time, her luck could run out. Still, this was the life she desired, more then anything, she wanted her freedom.

Slowly, she lifted her binoculars back to her eyes and studied Lilycove again. The entire city was now surrounded by thick cement walls, topped in barbed wire. No one was allowed in or out, except members of Omega. But Tara was bound and determined to someday find a way in. Others in there must want out, and she needed answers, answers about what happened to her pokemon the day of the attack. The Omegas had them, of that she was certain, and she wanted them back.

Hello, this is Hyuuga_Sora from Neopets. ^_^ Thank you for inviting me.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Bright rays of light, breaking through the waves off the coast of Lillycove and shining as far as they could reach into the darkened depths. A lone figure was there, clothed completely in a wet suit and scubagear. His messy indigo spikes flowed with the currents around him, as his bright blue-gray eyes searched for something amidst the waters.

There was a flash to the boy's left, and soon a second person joined him. It was a small girl, a couple years younger than him and sharing his looks. She held on tightly to a silvery white Dewgong, swimming along with the seel Pokemon. They both stopped right next to the boy, the girls indigo hair floating around her face and into her gray eyes, and she made a few hand signs. The boy nodded to her, taking her hand.

Both figures swam up from the cool waters, the Dewgong spiraling circles around them both in her excitement.

Their heads broke the water quietly, their forms hidden by a large rock formation, and quickly they moved onto the small bit of beach there, removing their gear and shoving it in a sand dune. They pulled off the wet suits, hiding them as well, before heading off down the beach, the Dewgong following them in the water.

"Noah," the girl said quietly, as they skirted around the edge of the city and into the surrounding wilderness," Are you sure it was alright to leave Sootopolis? At least there we had some form of shelter." The boy, Noah, looked back at her, before stopping to recall his Pokemon.

"We'll be fine Umbrie," he said, taking her hand and leading her," We survived in that barren place right?"

Umbrie nodded, following him silently as they ran to a safe place. Several years ago, before the meteor, there was a cave nearby that their father had made, a secret base during his journey. That was their destination, so they could hide for a bit and formulate a plan.

"Noah, I'm getting tired," Umbrie whispered, her eyes drooping. She wasn't suppose to be outside, not in her condition.

"Here," Noah replied, bending down to giver her a piggy-back ride," You did good Umbrie, you can rest now." Umbrie nodded, slipping into much needed sleep as her brother carried her the rest of the way.

Umbrie was sick, it was that way since her birth. She couldn't over exert herself or she could get something much worse. Her immune system wasn't as strong as it should be.

So Noah had to be careful with what they did, and how much they traveled, so she wouldn't get worse. He didn't have the medicine to take care of her if she did.

Stopping just short of the old Safari Zone he moved into the trees, sitting her down under a large, shady, one and releasing a second Pokemon. A large Arcanine showed up, and he instructed it to watch over Umbrie while he went to get food.

He wandered through the nearby trees, until he found one that had a few berries on it. Looking them over to make sure they weren't poisonous he picked a couple handfulls, moving back to his sister. Umbrie was sitting up when he returned, awake but looking extreamly weak.

"Here, you need to eat something," he said, handing her the berries. She ate silently and slowly, staring blankly ahead with clouded eyes.

"Umbrie, are you all right?" Noah asked, when she didn't reply. Umbrie turned her head to him, smilng softly.

"Yes, I'm okay. But Jasper is hungry too," she stated, looking over at the giant dog Pokemon.

"I know, once you finish eating I'll let him go find something to eat, okay?" Umbrie nodded, finishing her food quickly so her faithful Pokemon could go get his own.

Jasper was Umbries first Pokemon, given to her as a Growlithe when she was only two. They were extreamly close, to the point that she understood what he wanted and he would protect her like family. The twelve years after she got him were hard, but they had gotten through it together.

Noah, however hard he tried to hide it, was a little jealous of her, and she knew it.

His first Pokemon, a little Eevee, was killed by the Omegas shrotly after the meteor incedent. He tried to act like he had gotten over it, but he couldn't hide it from his little sister. She saw him looking at the empty Pokeball he kept with him several times, almost on the verge of tears.

Umbrie shook herself of the thoughts, looking up at the sky for something interesting. It was so different than in Sootopolis, the sky was always just a small speck of blue that you could barely see over the rock walls, and being able to see such an expansive mass of it was always interesting to her. She smiled up at the sky, leaning on her back and making shapes from the clouds.

"Umbrie, I'm going to go look for some more food, alright? Don't leave the clearing." Noah spoke up, and she nodded absentmindedly as he left. Jasper padded over to her, curling up and letting her rest her head on his front paw.

"Now I'm bored," she muttered, curling up and closing her eyes. Jasper watched on protectively, his eyes and ears alert for any kind of sound.

((^^ It's tails3050 from Neopets.
Thanks for the invite!))

All those towns had met an untimely end.
And it was all the fault of those darned Omegas.

Almost all of it was a fictional story in his mind. It was one that he played over and over, wishing that it wasn’t true. At times, he almost convinced himself that nothing at all had happened to Cinnabar; that the island was still there, along with the rest of his family.
But thinking like this was total vainness.

It was only sheer hope and luck that he was alive and where he was. Optimism couldn’t have played a part in this, for he’d been rather pessimistic of late.

Zachary Rooksden slunk low in the foliage; foliage that he’d been keeping cover in for quite some time now. Beside him, a Charmeleon raised its head, staring solemnly at what was supposedly its trainer. Zachary brought a hand up, patting the Pokémon on the head gently. It was almost all he had left, save the other three Pokémon that remained in their Pokéballs, strapped onto his belt.

As he watched the fire-reptile, Zachary’s mind began to wander, and without his realization, he was remembering the last day he’d been back at Cinnabar.

A boat had been departing the small island, and, although he didn’t necessarily choose to board the vessel, Zachary had ended up on the craft. For most of that very day, his Charmeleon had been rather tense. It had worried the boy, especially when the Pokémon darted off into a crowd of people.

Zachary, of course, followed, ending up on the very vessel that had been docked at the island. He found the Charmeleon near the back of the small ship, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get the Pokémon to come without sustaining some type of burn or bite. By then, the boat gave signals that it was to depart, and Zachary was taken onto the ship as it left Cinnabar.

Frustrated beyond belief, Zachary was forced to watch his island shrink into the distance; he would just have to wait until the boat returned, or he would have to travel back on foot once they reached the next shore. As the two began to get themselves settled on the boat, something immediately caught Zachary’s attention. Narrowing his eyes, he made out dark areas in the sky; something was falling towards what seemed to be the ocean.

It was then that slow realization hit Zachary. He’d heard rumors and stories of dangerous meteors, but…could it have been true? The sudden crashing and booming proved it.
To his very eyes, the small township that had rested atop Cinnabar Island was wiped away, the meteors causing explosions from the great heat they produced.
The impact from the meteors sent a force so strong that it capsized the vessel, and Zachary and his Pokémon were thrown overboard.
Luckily for the Charmeleon, Zachary had enough sense to return it to its Pokéball in the nick of time; just before the sea could have doused the flame on its tail.

The boy found flotsam and jetsam floating about, and, clinging to some of the debris, was able to get safely back to shore.
Travel proved tedious, even across regions, and now, here they were, sulking outside of the imprisoned Lilycove. Zachary, too, was one of the renegade trainers; one with a disgusted, newfound hate for the Omegas. This had turned him bitter, bitter towards everything but his own Pokémon.

“But…You saved me, huh? If you hadn’t’ve pulled me off that island… We’d both be dead, right?”
“Char…”

((Hiya, it's Kolidescope! Thank you for inviting me! I expanded on my introductory posts, so it's not quite the same thing I had on Neo.))

Loreli surveyed her surroundings, maintaining a stern face as her piercing, hawk-like blue eyes examined the forlorn face of each person who passed by. She had been chosen for guard duty today, and was now patrolling the edges of the city to make sure none of the poor souls inside the so-called "refugee camp" had the nerve to try and escape.

It wasn't the most exciting of jobs for an Omega.. But it was necessary, so low-ranking members such as Loreli had to endure the monotony. Not very many people dared to escape now; most had lost hope. It was only rarely you'd get some real action when on guard duty.

She wore nothing but black these days - A black uniform with the Omega insignia and a black cap that covered her tied-up golden curls, which had once magnificently cascaded down her back. Her once bright and beautiful blue eyes were now fierce and unfriendly. It seemed she was a mere shadow of what she had been only two years before.

Loreli let slip her intimidating guise for a moment and gave a sigh of discontent. It was moments like these, when she had time to think, that she wondered why she had ever joined Omega in the first place. It didn't seem very long ago when she was an independent girl of 16 from the small town of Cherrygrove, striving (yet failing) to succeed in the sport of pokemon training. Hadn't she been somewhat happy then? Free, at least. Now she wasn't quite sure if freedom existed anywhere on the planet.

'You were young and weak back then,' Loreli quickly reminded herself, snapping out of her wandering thoughts. 'Look at what you have now - you're on the side of the organization that has succeeded in conquering the world. Freedom is a trivial thing in the face of power. Don't give up your power now."

As Loreli paced the city limits, another girl crouched behind a dumpster at the very edge of Lillycove where pavement met barbed wire fence. This girl was much younger than Loreli; while the Omega was around 18, she was 14 and had short brown hair. She stared at Loreli through the fence. Her expression, while loathing, carried with it at the same time the pain of betrayal.

They had been the best of friends in their younger days. The two wanted nothing more than to go on adventures, see the world, and frolic with the amazing creatures known as pokemon They took up training together at the ripe young ages of 10 and 12, and of course became playful rivals soon afterward. At first they travelled together, but when they inevitably parted ways and trained solo, they rarely saw each other for two years.

When they had finally caught up with each other in their home town of Cherrygrove, Christie was shocked at how much her friend had changed; not just in age, but in character. Instead of taking part in their usual talk about fun, adventure, and friends, she seemed only to want to discuss her latest battles, achievements, and plans for future victories. What's worse, Christie noticed that she seemed to take little interest in her own pokemon's state of well-being. She frowned or rolled her eyes at their old inside jokes and games, making comments such as "Wow, we sure were morons back then, weren't we?"

Then came the day of the earthquake. It wasn't the strongest or most destructive according to the geologists, but for some reason this small earthquake had created a long fissure in the earth that ran through the forestland between Cherrygrove and Violet City. Christie and Loreli, both curious, went out after the quake to look. They soon discovered, much to their misfortune, that the crack opened up a hole that led down to a floor-lit staircase. Still curious, they had the nerve to step inside; long story made short: they didn't get away with it. After many hard-fought battles in the dimly lit laboratory, the people dressed in black uniforms captured them and were on the verge of silencing them for good.

However, before they could meet their end, the Omegas seemed to change their minds. They asked both the girls, held in two separate cells, if they would like to join the Omegas and help them work on a secret project that would enable them to entirely control the world. If they refused, they would be executed as planned. Christie's immediate answer was no. The same seemed to be for Loreli, who could be seen through the glass of the cell wall. However, Christie watched as the Omega member continued talking with a sly grin on his face. Loreli's expression changed from fearful and angry to surprised and enchanted. She couldn't hear the conversation, but Loreli was released from the cell and allowed to walk over to Christie's cell. Expecting to hear that Loreli had made some kind of deal or told some kind of lie to set them both free, Christie couldn't believe her ears when her friend told her that she had officially joined the Omegas -- and that instead of executing Christie, they had agreed to keep her and her pokemon as slaves and test subjects. That was the first time her eyes had ever looked so evil, so fierce.. The image burned into Christie's memory and still hadn't left her.

After a long and complicated procedure, Christie escaped the horrible lab with her pokemon safe and sound, but she saw no more of Loreli afterward. That is, until the day of the Meteor Shower...

"Why did you do it, Lorie?" Christie muttered while no one was around to hear her. "What was so compelling about their offer that you couldn't refuse?" She narrowed her eyes in anger. In one quick instinctive movement, her hand darted for the side of her belt... But her beloved pokemon wouldn't ever magically appear at her side again. She let out a sigh and let her hand go limp.

"Well.. At least you used to know what was right and what was wrong.." she said, giving a sigh. "Maybe someday you'll remember."

She wondered where they all were now. Pixie, Princess, Xena, Taito, Krissa, and the other hundred pokemon she used to own. Especially Narra, her Furret, her first and (though she denied having one) favorite.

((Sorry I'm a little late. The roleplay kinda slipped my mind; I realized last night that it had started three days ago :oops: ))

Jem let his backpack--a tattered, raggedy thing that was more holes than fabric--slide from his hand and fall to the patchy grass, then collapsed beside it. The young man wasn't in much better shape than his backpack. His clothes might have been a brown t-shirt and a pair of fatigue pants, but they were so dusty and worn it was difficult to tell. A pair of boots that seemed to be composed mainly of duct tape clung wearily to his feet.

"Hey, Pan," he said, with a literally dry chuckle, "I just remembered why we stopped traveling during the daytime."

He rolled over onto his back, squinting his good eye closed against the spears of sunlight coming through the tree branches overhead. Why was it always so hot? Even late into fall, it was hot, it seemed. Ever since the meteors...

As he always did, Jem pushed the thought of the meteors out of his head as soon as it arrived.

It wasn't too hard, really, to forget. When every day was consumed with just trying to keep your soul inside your body, there wasn't a whole lot of time to sit around and reminisce about the good old days. Even the years since the disaster were mostly a blur to Jem. He'd been just a kid--what, thirteen? Maybe fourteen? Can't remember, don't care--when the meteors destroyed his hometown of Lavaridge. Fortunately, he hadn't been in it at the time.

All he could remember of that horrible day was waking up beside a campfire, with a young man leaning over him and half of his face feeling like it was on fire. And Pandora, his Houndour, anxiously licking at his fingers.

Jem reached up and gingerly touched the black scarf tied over the left side of his head and face. Sometimes he wondered what it looked like under there--he hadn't taken the scarf off in years--but he never could bring himself to find out.

"All right, that's enough of that," he muttered to himself. "You won't be entering any beauty contests anytime soon, so stop thinking about your looks. You've got worse problems. Like water. Or a lack thereof."

Jem reached out and picked up his canteen--actually, it was a washed-out milk jug, but scavengers couldn't be choosers--and shook it without much hope. Surprise, surprise; it was still empty.

"There should be some ponds in the western section," he said aloud. "We'll go and look for 'em once the sun sets. Hopefully they haven't dried up."

Pandora, Jem's Houndoom, curled up on the grass beside him, resting her slim nose on her tail. She was unusually small, with eyes too large for her face; nervous eyes that always seemed a little frightened. Pan wasn't much good in a fight, having an unfortunate habit of freezing in utter terror when another Pokemon attacked her--she wasn't really much good at anything, to be honest--but she was all Jem had left. He'd been foolish with his other Pokemon, in his inexperienced days, allowing them to wander off alone, out of his sight. What had happened to them, he didn't know--probably stolen by other trainers or eaten by predator Pokemon. It was another thing Jem didn't like to think about.

"Stay close, Pan," he said quietly, as he drifted off to sleep.

(I'll post more when I get time to come back on. Sorry, just my sign-up example...)

The sun rose slowly over the horizon, shining its face down on the horribly marred land. It was covered in jagged scars and craters. Still, beauty remained on this harsh landscape. A single tree stood alone, the remainder of what had once been a mighty forest.

A troop of three men, wearing the feared Omega symbol, had made camp beneath it. Two were still slumbering, while a third watched the rising sun. Not one of them saw the dark figure hidden above, or saw the eyes watching them.

In one swift movement, the figure sprang. With a deft movement, she knocked out the guard with the butt of a simple daggar. He didn't make a sound as he slid to the ground, a bit of spittle dribbling down his cheek. The young woman that had struck him wrinkled her nose in disgust. Turning, she made careful steps to the center of the group, picking up all three packs with a gloved hand. In the process, she turned from the two sleeping men. She stood up, and felt the barrel of a gun at her neck.

"We've got you surrounded," the formerly sleeping man said gruffly. "There's two of us and only one of you. Give up quietly, and we'll just take you back to Lilycove."

"Who said I was alone?" She asked sweetly. "Sic 'em, Vipe." Both men whirled and were instantly caught in the gaze of a dark colored snake. The Seviper held them there, successfully paralyzing them with a Glare.

Reeah shouldered the packs, a bubblegum pink feline jumping from the tree bough to land gracefully on her trainer's shoulder. She returned Vipe and saluted the two paralyzed men before striding off into the undergrowth.

Tara scanned the thick cement wall surrounding the refugee camp of Lilycove foot by foot. She looked for any breach in the wall, any section left unguarded, anything that could provide her with a way in and out of the city. So far, she had come up with nothing. The wall was to new to have any cracks or holes, and every drain, every entrance was ether heavily guarded or barred off, and she couldn’t break in to the barred off openings without sounding some sort of alarm. For now, Lilycove looked impenetrable.

With a sigh, Tara lowered her binoculars, blinking in the light. Very slowly and cautiously, she crawled over to her bag and placed her binoculars back inside. Glancing back at Lilycove, She crept into thicker foliage, finally reaching a section of dense trees. Once their, she straightened up, still glancing around. There wasn’t such a thing as to much caution any more. Paranoia was no longer a bad thing. In the world outside of the camps, there were only two kinds of people, the careful, and the captured, and Tara did not wish to end up as the latter.

Tara reached down to her belt, unclipping one of the pokeballs from it. Glancing around once more to make sure no one was close enough to see, Tara pressed the small button on the front of the pokeball. The pokeball opened, releasing a beam of red light. The beam solidified into the form of a fox-like pokemon. The pokemon was about three feet in height, with a slender and gracefully body. Its fur was a light tan, which darkened to a deep earthy brown on the pokemon’s four dainty paws. The pokemon had large fox-like ears, which bore a striking resemblance to large leaves, so much so that a distant observer might mistake it for some sort of plant. The pokemon’s tail was long and thin, and also had the leaf-like resemblance. More plant-like parts adorned the pokemons forehead, chest, and paws, identifying it as a grass type. It was a Leafia.

Tara patted her Leafia on the head for a moment, before giving the pokemon a nod. The Leafia bounded away into the underbrush ahead of Tara, disappearing in seconds. Tara followed slowly, keeping her eyes and ears open. Leafia was her eyes and ears now. She could see and hear danger from much farther away then Tara ever could dream off, and she could give Tara an early warning if any Omega’s were in the area. She got out of her pokeball much more often then Tara’ other two remaining pokemon, even though she was not native to this region. Her natural coloration gave her near perfect camouflage in this area, which had been left nearly untouched by the Meteors, and therefore she was able to stay out in areas otherwise to dangerous for Tara’s other pokemon.

Tara headed off after Leafia, keeping her eye out for any dangers. They were headed towards the old safari zone, which was one of the safer places around this area. With no houses to loot, the Omega’s left it pretty much alone, and the natural vegetation of the area offered a lot of cover. Thankfully, the immediate area around Lilycove had been spared of most meteor strikes, presumably to keep the city intact for the refugee camp. Fortree was still standing, but Mauville had gone. The natural vegetation was taking over the area much more, but it would de decades before the impact craters were covered in vegetation, and even longer before the cities disappeared. Still, the old paths were already disappearing, and lichens were starting to grow on the old roads not regularly used by Omega patrols. The brush was getting thicker in places, and the grasslands were getting tall and wild. This suited Tara fine. The thicker the foliage, the harder she would be to find.

Nearing the Safari zone, Tara spotted Leafia a few feet ahead. The pokemon had frozen in place, its ears perked up in a silent alert. Instantly, Tara dropped into a crouch, and crawled as quietly as she could managed up to Leafia’s side. Following the pokemon’s gaze, she could just make out a human figure up ahead, curled up next to what looked to be an Arcanine. From this distance, Tara couldn’t make out if it was an Omega or not, but she didn’t want to get out her binoculars to check.

“We’ll go around.” She whispered to Leafia. Cautiously, Tara backed deeper into the foliage. Once the distant figure was out of sight, she stood, and headed off at an angle that should bring her safely past the distant figure and into the Safari zone.

The Safari Zone had been left relatively the same. Wild Pokemon still roamed there, making it a dangerous place if you weren't prepared. Reeah often made camp in a particular spot, where a tree sat next to a small, albeit deep, pond. This was where she was now, rummaging through the packs she'd stolen. She released all three of her Pokemon. Ryuu was lying half in, half out of the water, while Vipe sunned himself on a large rock and Kit curled up on a tree branch. In truth, the latter two were watching the area, looking for possible Omegas attacking.

Reeah sat beneath the tree, and Ryuu watched her pile various objects together. It was disappointing- there was very little in both bags. A couple packages of crackers, an empty canteen, and a knife were her finds. Exhasperated, she reached into the last bag one more time, her fingers closing around a small, compact object. Pulling it out, she saw that it was some kind of device with a lone flashing red light. The blood drained from her face. A tracker. It was a trap!

Leaping to her feet, she quickly returned both Vipe and Ryuu to their Pokeballs. Kit leaped to the ground, giving a questioning meow when Reeah grabbed a rope tied around a rock close to the pond, the other end disappering into the water. The object tied to it came out with little trouble- a large black sack, glistening with water. Reeah took a knife and cut the rope from the rock. The bag was water-proof, an object she'd picked up since the meteors. Inside was all her food and other supplies. The pond had been a good place for storage, away from most scavengers. Now, though, it wouldn't be safe to come back and get them.

"It was a set-up," she explained quickly to the cat Pokemon. "There was a tracker in the bags. We need to get out of here, now." Adjusting the wet bag over run shoulder, she ran as fast as she could, away from the pond and away from Lilycove, gritting her teeth. She should have expected something like this. Omega wasn't about to just let her steal their suppiles as she wanted.

Kit was faster than Reeah, but kept pace obediantly. Reeah couldn't risk leaving the other two out, they were too slow, but she needed the protection Kit offered if the Omegas did catch up with her.

Pandora raised her head from her paws, her entire thin frame going tense as she let out a soft whimper. The wind had shifted ever so slightly, enough to bring her the scent of other people and Pokemon. When Jem didn't immediately respond to her warning, as he usually did, she gave him a sharp nip on the arm.
"Ouch!" he hissed, his eye flying open in startled confusion. Then, as he woke up completely and realized what was happening, Jem flattened himself against the ground as much as he could, trying to determine what Pandora might have sensed, and how close it, or they, were. He couldn't hear or see anything, but that didn't mean too much.
'People?' he mouthed, lifting his right hand, 'or Pokemon?' while raising his left.
Pandora's nose tapped against both hands in quick succession. Jem watched her carefully for a few moments. She seemed anxious, but not terrified, which was a good sign--it meant whatever she smelled or heard was probably too far away to see them.
Jem stood slowly up, picking up his backpack at the same time.
"Okay, Pan," he whispered. "You lead."

Noah sighed as he trudged through the vegetation, a few paces ahead of him a female Persian. The Persian's normally well kept fur was covered in mud and debris, course rather than soft. Her bright baby blue eyes were alert, her ears swiveling back and forth to catch any sound as she cut a larger path for her master to walk.

"Hey, Eclair, do you think we really did the right thing by leaving?" Noah asked suddenly, his eyes a bit darkened and a worried look on his face," I mean, with Umbrie's condition she could get sick any time, and running from the Omegas is stressf-"

He was cut off by Eclair latching down on his hand with a hiss, glaring at him in a way that screamed 'Don't you dare continue'. She let go after a brief second, staring up at him with large, knowing eyes and letting out a soft whine.

Noah looked on in shock, dropping the arm he had been cradling to his side.

"You bit me," he muttered, watching as Eclair walked over and licked the wound," I deserved it. You're right, I shouldn't be htinkg of things like this. We'll get through it." Eclair nodded, moving to continue her path, but froze a second later.

Her ears and tail twitched violently, like something was wrong, and the next instant Naoh knew why.

"NO! LEAVE JASPER ALONE!!"

Noah bolted back the way he came, Eclair a few paces ahead of him. What was wrong?

Umbrie yelped, scooting back as the Houndoom charged her. The Omega who owned him smirked, laughing cruelly.

Just as the dark hound was going to hit her Jasper barreled into its side, throwing it into another tree. But the smaller dark type was obviously barely affected, as it leapt at the Arcanine a second later and clamped down on his throat.

"NO! LEAVE JASPER ALONE!" Umbrie screeched, jumping foward and pulling at the scruff of the Houndoom's neck.

Less than a second later and Jasper had fainted, slupping to the ground and sending Umbrie sprawling into a tree again.

She whimpered as the Houndoom towered over her, a cruel gleam in its eyes to match its trainer.

"Some one help."

A scream cut through the air, causing Jem to stop, listening tensely. Pandora let out a yelp and began making nervous circles around her trainer, stopping every few seconds to sniff tentatively, each time in the same direction.

Jem hesitated for a few seconds. He really didn't want to get involved with whatever was happening. Avoiding contact with strangers was the best way to survive out here; you never knew who might be working for the Omegas, and even those who weren't with the Omegas were still usually desperate enough to knife you in the back for whatever food or valuables you might be carrying. And yet...

That scream... it had sounded like a little kid...

"I'm gonna regret this," Jem muttered, running in the direction the scream had come from. Pandora followed as fast as her legs could carry her, obviously unhappy with the way things were going--her head was low, and her tail tucked between her legs--but not about to let Jem out of her sight.

Jem pulled his knife from his belt as he ran, flicking the switchblade out of its chipped black case. A flash of orange amongst the trees up ahead caught his attention; an Arcanine, he saw as he came closer.

There were also a man and a Houndoom--much bigger than Pan, of course, probably a male. But what Jem noticed, more than anything, was the large Omega insignia on the back of the man's jacket.

He hesitated for a moment, trying to figure out what was going on. The only good kind of Omega was the dead kind, as everyone knew. But attacking someone from behind still bothered Jem--killing in general wasn't his strong point, which was probably why he hadn't lasted long in the gang. On the other hand, while giving the Omega a heads-up would be the noble thing to do, he probably had a much better weapon than a knife, and certainly wouldn't hesitate to use it.

Jem's moment of indecision was ended when he noticed the little girl.

"Scumbag," he hissed, through clenched teeth. "You deserve this."

He rushed at the Omega.

Tara made her way through the trees, aiming straight for the Safari Zone. She made sure to give the distant figure a wide berth, the last thing she needed was for the Omegas to spot her. Leafia trotted ahead a few paces, but kept within sight of Tara. They both knew where one potential danger was now, and it was best to stick together in case of danger.

Suddenly, Tara and Leafia both froze in their tracks as a distant scream filtered through the air. Tara couldn’t make out any specific words, but she heard enough to make out that someone was in trouble. Leafia’s ears twitched, and the hairs along its spine stiffened.

Tara glanced down at Leafia, trying to think. This very easily could be a trap, the Omega’s were not above using a fake attack to draw any renegades in the area, as well as anyone else around. Still, if someone was in genuine trouble, then Tara should help. The problem was that if it was a trap, she probably wouldn’t know it until it was far to late for that knowledge to do her any good.

“Well, to go or not to go, that is the question.” She sighed, looking down at Leafia. Leafia looked up at her for an instant, before racing off in the direction the scream seemed have originated from.

For an instant, Tara simply remained standing where she was, watching Leafia race off. She ran her fingers through her hair, and looked up at the blue sky overhead. “Oh well, perhaps today is a good day to die.” She said quitly. With that, she charged off after Leafia.

It only took Tara a few minutes to catch up to Leafia, as the pokemon had slowed in its pace. She trotted with it for a few minutes, and then they both crept as silently as they could towards what sounded like a rather intense pokemon battle. Tara crawled into some thick bushes, and peered out, trying to see what was happening.

Beyond the bush, there was a small clearing in the trees, in the clearing, a young girl was backed against a treem cowering in terror as an aggressive houndoom advanced on her. An rcanine lay in the clearing, clearly fainted from battle. The houndooms apparent trainer also stood in the clearing. He was a man, dressed in an all too familiar black uniform, one with the Greek symbol of Omega on its chest.

Tara’s eyes flashed angrily as she realized that the girl must be some sort of renegade trainer, and that the Omega was trying to capture her. Still, caution was advisable; this could be one very, very good trap.

Tara reached down to her belt, unclipping another pokeball. She pressed the button on front, releasing the pokemon inside. In a brief flash of red light, a yellow and blue canine appeared. Its head was pointed, shaped like some sort of helmet. The pokemons tail was pointed straight up, much like a lightning rod. It was a Manectric.

Tara motioned to Manectric, pointing across the clearing at the Omega. Then, she held up her hand, with all five digits held upwards. Manectric nodded, then sprang forwards out of the bushes. As it did so, it seemed to shimmer, and suddenly, instead of one Manectric, there were five.

Tara grinned, watching for the Omega’s reaction. This was one of her favorite tricks. Manectric was native to this region, so he didn’t make the Omegas instantly think a trainer was in the area, And with its double team, it was suddenly a pack of angry, and very territorial, Manectrics. It was usually enough to scare off lone Omegas. Hopefully it would work this time.

Surprised, Tara watched as yet another person, this time a young male, came crashing out of the bushes, carrying a knife, headed straight at the Omega. This promised to be an interesting situation.

"Hey, Loreli!" came a voice to Loreli's right. She turned and saw one of her fellow guards walking casually but briskly toward her.

"Hey Saku. What's up?" she replied, not thinking much of it.

"Well, Jeremy just reported seeing something out in the direction of the Safari zone. We need someone to go out there and check it out."

Loreli narrowed her eyes. "So why doesn't Jeremy go?"

Saku smirked. "Well, he did.. but you know him, he'll probably run back blabbering about some huge secret organization of renegade trainers or something that will send us on an unecessary wild goose chase. He's such a liar. We need someone to keep him in line. Besides, if there are any renegade trainers out there, he's certainly going to need some back up," he rolled his eyes.

"You go, then," Loreli said with a cocky attitude, turning her back on her coworker.

"Can't! Boss just called me in. There's a chance I'll get promoted!"

Loreli spun around and sent a jealous deathglare at Saku. "You..!" she started to say, but couldn't think of an appropriate noun and ended the sentence there. Giving in, she growled and headed off in the direction of the Safari Zone.

Snickering to himself, Saku walked back toward the city limits. As he did, he spotted out of the corner of his eye a tall crack in the corner of the cement wall that surrounded the city. Raising an eyebrow, he walked closer. When he reached it, he looked through the hole to find Christie, idly sitting there and looking at him with obvious contempt.

"Hey you, girl," Saku said with an intimidating tone that all Omega members had trained into them. "Did you make this little hole?"

"Of course I didn't, it was like this when I got here," Christie answered immediately. She was telling the truth; the barbed wire fence that lined the inside of the wall would prevent her from doing any damage to the wall. However, it did seem as if someone before her had taken a jackhammer to it; the wall was too new for it to crack on its own.

Saku grinned. "You're not thinking of trying to get out this way, are you?" he said mockingly.

"No, I'm not, and I'd be foolish to," Christie replied as cooly as she could. "I'm fully aware of the amount of volts that runs through that wire."

"That's good," the Omega said with a nod. "You wouldn't want to step outside your sanctuary, girl. It's a dangerous world out there, after what the meteors did."

Christie gave Saku a 'Do you think I'm stupid?' look before saying sarcastically, "Oh yes, and we should be ever so grateful that our saviors, the Omegas, have kept us out of harms way, not to mention dirt poor and depressed."

Saku wagged a finger in the air and shook his head. "Watch yourself, young lady," he said before standing up to leave.

~~~~~
"It's probably a false alarm, like Saku said," Loreli sighed as she trudged along the dirt path in the wilderness outside Lilycove. "When was the last time I went to investigate a suspicious area of this place? Not too long ago. What did I end up finding? Nothing. What makes me think there'll be som--" she stopped apruptly in her tracks and stood still to listen. Someone was screaming.. No, she heard more than one voice. And it wasn't just voices - there were sounds of pokemon fighting too. Suddenly serious in her manner, Loreli sped off in the direction of the noises.
"Trainers.." she hissed.
Noah burst through the trees, watching as Eclair darted foward with an unannounced attack. Her sharp, well kept, claws dug into the Houndoom's side, as the full force of her body weight sent the smaller dog tumbling to the ground.
With an almost feral hiss Eclair lashed out again with a large paw, cutting across the dark hound's face and battering his head against the ground in the process. It was enough to sent the already injured canine into a faint.
Standing up she glared fiercely at the Omega, watching as another trainer burst from the bushes to attack. At about the same time a Manectric, with either a Double Team or five others of its kind, jumped from the bushes, but waited patiently for something.
"Umbrie," Noah called out, rushing to his sister's side," Umbrie are you okay?"
"Noah, Jasper got hurt, is he okay?" Once again Umbrie seemed more worried about her compainon than herself. "The Houndoom wouldn't let go of his throat." She was crying as well, the drops of salt water falling down her cheeks rapidly.
Noah soothed her, pulling her close to him and picking her up. He walked over to where Jasper's prone form lay, keeping an eye on the Omega as well. It seemed that Eclair had used Leer on him, for he was trembling almost violently but not moving an inch.
Sitting Umbrie down her moved the large canine's head slightly, feeling a puff of air against his arm as well. Jasper's chest moved slowly up and down, showing that he was, indeed, still breathing.
"Umbrie, he's fine, just fainted." And then Elcair let out anther hiss, drawing all attention back to her. She stood, squaring off with the Omega's second pokemon. The large bird, a Fearow, let out a fierce shriek, making Noah wince slightly at the pitch, before shooting into the air. It circled above Eclair, as if searching for a weak point, before diving again.
"Eclair, use Shock Wave!" Suprisingly it was Umbrie who shouted out the command, oddly calm for nearly being killed. But Noah saw it, in her once clear eyes.
She was mad, hurting almost, at the fact that she let Jasper get so injured. And she wanted to make sure Eclair didn't get hurt because of something she thought of as her mistake.
Eclair let out a yowl, dodging easily to the side so the large bird hit the ground full on. Then she leapt, pinning it down with her larger body weight and charging up the attack. As electricity surged through the bird's body a strange grin spread across the Omega's face.
Too fast for Noah to catch Umbrie was wisked away from his side, held in the tallons of yet another bird Pokemon. This time though the Pidgeot looked well trained and well taken care of, not a feather out of place or a smudge on the beautiful plumage.
"Umbrie!"
"Noah!" Umbrie yelled out, yelping loudly when the tallons pressed against her flesh. A few drops of blood spilled down her stomach, where the bird held her, and more tears slid down her face. Though it was more in frustration than fear, she was fed up with being the one in danger. Did they think she would be easy prey being smaller?
"Eclair use another Shock Wave!" she yelled down, watching as her brother's eyes widened in fear. Was she trying to kill herself?
Eclair did as she was told, shooting out the jolt of electricity with deadly accuaracy. The Pidgeot squawked in terror, dropping down several feet until the distance between the ground was less than eight feet.
'Please let me fall on something soft,' Umbrie pleaded mentally, before she smashed her fist harshly into the bird's leg. With another squawk she was released, the air wipping around her as she plummeted to the ground.
Tara remained flat under the bush, peering out at the events taking place in the clearing beyond. She was quit startled when a strange male burst out of the bush, closely followed by a Persian. Her Manectric was surprised by this development as well, and halted for a brief instant, trying to figure out which target it should go for.
In the time that Tara and her Manectric took to decide how to proceed, the stranger’s Persian leapt onto the Omega’s Houndoom, slashing and tearing into him. The canine fell, and the stranger rushed over to the small girl. From what he said, Tara figured he must be a relative of some sort, probably a brother. Her Manectric, seeing that this new stranger wasn’t an apparent enemy instead headed for the Omega, his “pack” of double team Manectrics following.
The Omega had already sent out his second pokemon however, a Fearow, which was squaring off against the strangers Persian. The girl however took charge of this fight, calling off attacks. That didn’t last long however. Tara just barely caught a glimpse of a dark shape hurtling down, and by the time she spotted it, it was too late. The Pigeot shot down out of the sky, nabbing the girl in its magnificent talons. Then, it was off, carrying the girl away into the sky.
Tara should have reacted right then and their, but she seemed frozen in place. Old memories played past in her head, memories of her own Pidgeot, Qusbegi. She had been a magnificent bird. One of the proudest moments of Tara’s pokemon training career was when she evolved from a Pidgeot. But Qusbegi had been at Professor Birch’s lab the day of the meteor strike, and now, Tara didn’t know what had happened to her. Now wasn’t the time to get sentimental however, that girl needed her help.
Swiftly, Tara unclipped her last pokeball from her belt. For a moment, she considered coming into the open to help, but then decided to stay cautious. She threw the pokeball, releasing the pokemon inside. Emerging from the pokeball in a flash of red light, a fox-like pokemon came. Its coat was a magnificent gleaming silver, meticulously groomed to perfection. That fact most of its time was now spent inside a pokeball helped keep its coat tidy as well. The silver coat offset the pokemons silver eyes nicely, and the gentle swaying of its nine tails gave it an almost mystic quality. It was Tara’s Ninetales.
Tara whispered commands to her Ninetales, who instantly leapt out of the bushes. It tore off after Pidgeot, intent on attacking. Manectric followed, its “pack” coming to. The Omega could be taken care of by the stranger with the knife that had appeared moments ago. They had intended to attack, but when the Persian beat them to it. They took another cause. Ninetales leapt under the falling form of Umbrie, rolling onto her belly. She pulled all nine of her thick bushy tails up, trying to use them to cushion Umbrie’s fall.
So if one of you wants one of your characters to get captured or kinda captured, that might speed things up a bit. =3 Christie's getting bored and lonely over there. If it's okay with everyone, I mean.))
The Omega stood still for a moment, staring at his Pidgeot who lost air quickly and tumbled onto the ground. He seemed somewhat in shock for a moment as he looked at the crumpled form of his favorite pokemon.. However, something soon brought him back to his senses.
"JEREMY, YOU FOOL!" Loreli growled as she leaped into the battle-filled scene. Immediately behind her came a large, red-eyed Absol and a fierce-looking Seviper. The two of them seemed to carry the evil aura of their Omega masters with them, and their red eyes flitted to every pokemon and trainer in the clearing.
Loreli sent an evil look at the other Omega member, who seemed to flinch at the sight of her. "You're supposed to go for the quickest capture possible! None of this stupid pokemon battling!"
She shouted some sort of command to her two pokemon, who immediately obeyed. Within seconds, a dozen double-teamed Absols surrounded the battle scene to make sure no one in view would escape. Then the Seviper's eyes grew bright red and shot a paralyzing glare at each trainer and each target pokemon. This glare, as a pokemon ability, was able to paralyze anyone who looked straight into it, pokemon or trainer alike. One look at the glowing red eyes of the Seviper would mean capture.
Umbrie clamped her mouth shut as she fell, the wind whipping past her and sending her long hair snaking around her. But as she neared the ground, and a few last thoughts echoed around her mind, she hit something soft. Looking down she saw it to be a Ninetales she had landed on, the magnificent tails of the creature holding her up.
“Thank you,” she whispered to the beast, patting its head. But as she shakily moved to get up she froze, the distant sound of something running towards them reaching her ears. Recalling her faithful Arcanine she tossed the Pokeball to Noah, leaving him confused.
“Éclair! Get Noah and Jasper away from here,” she called, making Noah blink. But Éclair had heard the noise as well, and in one swift movement she tackled the blinking boy into the surrounding foliage and dragged him off. Right as they disappeared into the surrounding forest another Omega burst into the clearing, a Seviper and Absol following her.
“JEREMY, YOU FOOL!” she yelled, making him flinch. He tried to stammer out an apology, but she blurted out a command to her Pokemon. The Absol split into a dozen copies, and Seviper glared viciously at all of the seen people and Pokemon. Umbrie instinctively froze in place, though if you would look close enough you could see she wasn’t looking at the Seviper’s eyes. In fact, her eyes were fairly cloudy, a dull and murky color compared to earlier. But she froze anyway, to make it seem she was affected.
‘Lure the opponent into a false sense of security, and you will be able to attack with surprise.’ The words of her father slipped through her mind, from just before they left Sootopolis. Slipping her hand carefully towards her back pocket and her Pokeballs, she waited for the Omega to make her next move.
((Okay...
Uhm... I read the posts, but I don't know if anyone's near to where Zachary is. So, I'll just post something to shove him back in, wait for other posts, and then I can try to put him into the actual role play...))
Zachary shuffled uneasily, attempting to stand from where he'd been sitting. He pulled a hand up, running it through his dirty, auburn hair absently. "I'm hungry again..." he muttered, grimacing bitterly as his stomach grumbled quietly; "But it's not like there's anything to eat around here, other than what we found..." At this, he turned his gaze to a small cluster of items; a tattered bag lay near a tree, where a small, makeshift tent had been carelessly placed on the grass; random objects littered the ground around this, all of them useful in some way, whether it be food or other material.
"You're probably hungry, too, huh?" Zachary asked, turning his attention to the Charmeleon, who snorted; it was its reptilian equivalent of a "yes". The boy seemed to half smile, sighing as he walked towards the pile to rumage through it.
"...there's nothing edible here," he finally concluded, stepping back and shoving his hands into his pockets; "Guess we have to go find something again." The Pokémon behind him let out a low growl, one of displeasure.
"And you're not the only one I have to feed..." Zachary patted his belt that carried the other Pokéballs. "The other three, too..."
The redhead shrugged, shaking his head as he turned on a heel, pulling his hands from his pockets so that he could stoop down and slink through the greenery; it wouldn't do for him to get caught, not at all. Charmeleon held back, seeming to consider something before following after its trainer, a strange, wary glint in its dark eyes.
Tara lay hidden in the thick bush, watching the events unfold before her. She was relieved when she saw the small girl fall safely into her Ninetales soft tails, then climb to her feet, apparently unharmed. Her relief was short lived however, as she heard footsteps coming their way. Before she had time to react, the small girl had tossed her pokeball to the boy nearby, just before his Persian tackled him, dragging him off out of sight.
Seconds later, a second Omega, this one a female, burst into the clearing. Before the Omega’s feet even touched the ground, Tara’s Ninetales was leaping into the foliage, disappearing from sight. Tara had a standing order with Ninetales that if an Omega burst in on her, she should flee immediately, unless Tara was in danger. With Tara hidden from sight, and out of danger for the moment, the Ninetales had followed its orders. Tara’s Manectric however had not fled. It was under different orders then Ninetales was. Instead of fleeing instantly, it was under orders to act like a wild pokemon. It did so, getting its double team replicas to bunch around it, all snapping and snarling, acting like a surprise and angry Manectric pack. However, Manectric felt its limbs stiffen, freezing up under the Sevipers Glare. Its replicas froze in their various positions, though not real, they followed direction from Manectric. If he was frozen, so where they.
The Absol’s double teams surrounded the entire area, cutting off any means of escape. Tara was hidden just outside the circle, an Absol stood just beyond the bush where she lay hidden. She knew most where simply copies, fakes, but she couldn’t be sure if the one in front of her was real or not. Hopefully, it was not, otherwise it might spot her. She could have crept off and fled, but that would force her to lead Manectric behind, and she had vowed never to abandon her pokemon. The Omegas might dismiss him as a wild pokemon, possibly leaving him alone. If they didn’t….. Well, Tara had lost three pokemon to the Omegas, and she wasn’t about to lose another, no matter what happened.
Seviper stopped it's Glare attack and patiently waited for further instruction from its trainer. The Absol copies padded back and forth in their circle patiently.
Loreli looked from the paralyzed group of Manectrics to the girl frozen in place. Peh. This is all? Even Jeremy should have been able to contain just these by now. She gave a little shrug, then turned to the other Omega. "Well, what are you waiting for? Get the girl and bring her over to the camp!!" she barked.
Jeremy seemed to snap out of a kind of shocked trance, then nodded dutifully to his coworker and strode over to Umbrie, who he assumed was completely unable to move due to Seviper's attack. With a smirk, he picked up the girl and slung her over his shoulder with only a little effort. Now that most of the population was under their control, the Omegas didn't have to go under the pretense that their intention was for the people's well being. Now it was simply a matter of using force.
Loreli walked over to the frozen Manectrics and tilted her head. "Are these wild?" she asked Jeremy, motioning to them.
Jeremy answered with a shrug. "This, you mean. I'm pretty sure that's a double team there. And I dunno, it was kind of hard to tell. I suppose we might as well take it, just in case it's hers." he motioned to the girl he was holding. "By the way, which one's your Absol? I was wondering if I could use it to bring the girl back. I don't wanna carry her like this all the way."
Loreli sighed. "Fine. You heard him, Absol," she called to her pokemon. Immediately, all the illusions disappeared, leaving only one single Absol standing right in front of the bush that Tara was hiding behind. It obediently walked up to Jeremy, who put Umbrie down on it's back. The three of them then began to exit the clearing toward Lilycove.
Kneeling in front of the Manectrics, Loreli withdrew a blue-colored pokeball from her pocket. "I have always wanted an electric type," she mused.
Zachary stiffened when he heard a low growl. Looking to his left, he realized that the said noise came from his own Pokémon. Charmeleon seemed extremely annoyed now; and though it didn't take much to tick the reptile, things still worried the trainer. "What is it, Charmeleon?"
The Pokémon snorted, glancing towards Zachary before glaring back ahead.
"There, huh?"
"Char."
Zachary's eyes narrowed. He sighed, shaking his head. "I'll probably regret this, but let's go see what you're so upset about."
Charmeleon merely looked on as its trainer slunk forwards again, then followed. The two eventually came to a halt at the end of the shrubbery. Zachary looked towards his Pokémon, who nodded once. The boy returned the nod, reaching forwards and pulling a bit of the bushes back; just enough so that he and Charmeleon could both peer through. "Whoa... What's all this about?" he muttered under his breath, eyebrows furrowed. It looked as though some sort of battle may have occured; or was it even that? There were things such as a Manectric, an ominous woman, and a few other Pokémon in the area.
((...if I even had that right. If I didn't, I apologize. ;-; ))
"What happened here, I wonder?"
And Charmeleon seemed equally confused.
((If some of those characters weren't right, sorry. I'm still slightly confused. It'll pass, though!))
Umbrie went limp in the Omega’s grasp, allowing herself to be placed on the Absol’s back for transportation. There was no doubt in her mind that Noah was fuming, probably having been drug far enough away he couldn’t get back in time, but she really didn’t want him to be captured as well.
Unfortunately the stress of the day was wearing on her already tired body, and as the female Omega pulled out a blue Pokeball to try and capture the Manectric she felt herself slip further and further from the real world. Slipping her hand into her pocket, she pulled out her remaining three Pokeballs. Carefully, so no one would suspect her, she tossed them into a nearby tree, where they landed in an empty bird’s nest silently. Best they stayed here rather than the Omegas get her precious Pokemon.
‘Be good for Noah please, Isabella, Alice, Katie,’ she thought silently, her eyes drooping and her muscles relaxing completely. She fell into a restless sleep only after she saw a blurred tawny shape grab her Pokeballs and retreat into the forest.
~*~*~*~*~Noah~*~*~*~*~
Noah growled in frustration, kicking a nearby tree before pacing back and forth in the clearing Éclair had dropped him in. It was a good few miles from where Umbrie was, much further into the Safari Zone, and as soon as she was sure he wouldn’t run off Éclair had disappeared again.
Sighing, Noah plopped down at the base of a large Oak tree, pulling out his three Pokeballs and releasing their tenants. From the small contraptions came his only other Pokemon, an older male Linoone with a missing eye and the earlier male Dewgong.
“Hey Kai, Rei,” he greeted halfheartedly, patting them both on the head,” Looks like we’ll be fighting a few Omega’s soon. They got Umbrie, so we’ll have to go get her back, no?” Kai growled in approval, while Rei let out a shocked bark.
“Yeah, I know Lilly,” Noah muttered, looking down,” I shouldn’t have let Éclair drag me off, but Umbrie surprised me by ordering Éclair to get me out of here.” Here he took out Jasper’s Pokeball, releasing the large firedog as well. Jasper was still asleep, recovering from near suffocation, but even in his sleep they could tell he was upset, whimpering over and over again.
Éclair stalked into the clearing, holding three Pokeballs in her mouth that she dropped at Noah’s feet with a purr. From the Pokeballs emerged Umbrie’s other three Pokemon, of their own accord. The three females, Isabella the Swellow, Alice the Ponyta, and Katie the Jolteon, were all crying and wailing, as if they already knew about Umbrie being captured.
“Hey, it’ll be okay,” Noah stuttered, trying to calm the hysteric females,” We’ll get her back from the Omegas, so there’s no need to worry.” Katie wailed louder, curling up in a tiny ball and just bawling her eyes out. Éclair walked over to her to comfort her, licking her head gently in a motherly way. Katie was only nine months old, and was very attached to Umbrie as a mother, while Alice and Isabella were both nearly three and more like Umbrie’s mothers. Alice, too, wandered over to Katie to comfort her, while Isabella hopped over to Noah to nudge his hand with her head.
“Yeah, I know Bella,” Noah whispered, closing his eyes and resting against the trees,” We have to get her by soon. I’ll go after them after dark, so we won’t be seen. You should all get some rest.”
~*~*~*~*~*~
(Aww, poor Noah. He's really upset he couldn't protect her though. He has a few issues you'll find out about soon. >.> And you'll learn more about what Umbrie can and can't do as well.)
Tara lay under the bushes, unable to do anything while the Absol’s surrounded the area. She could only watch helplessly as the Omega’s moved in; grabbing the young girl her Ninetales had just saved. The double-teamed Absol’s faded away, leaving only the real one, the one right outside the bushes Tara was hiding under. As it moved away, Tara allowed one brief sigh of relief. It hadn’t seen her. Now though, there were still two Omega’s to deal with, and only two of her pokemon were in any shape to do battle. Helplessly. She watched as one of the Omega’s grabbed the girl, placing her on the Absol and taking her away, heading towards Lilycove. Just then, Tara saw the other Omega, the women, was holding a pokeball, and seemed to be about to attempt a capture of her Manectric.
Tara knew that she had to do something, and do something fast. True, she had no idea if the Omega had any more pokemon then the visible Seviper, nor if the other was far enough away not to hear anything and come to a rescue. But if she lost any more of her pokemon, she might lose all chance at doing anything more.
Tara glanced to the opposite edge of the clearing, where she could just make out twin flashes of ruby-red. Her Ninetales was there, waiting for Tara to do something. Silently, Tara started to move, climbing onto her nee’s. He Leafia had not left her side throughout all this, and slowly rose with her. With a nod, Tara signaled her Leafia, and she raced out of the foliage, running straight at the Omega, shoulder first, as it to knock her off her feet. “Arrrggghhhh!” She shouted at the top of her lungs, hoping the shock might freeze the Omega and her Seviper for the brief instant she needed.
As Tara charged the Omega, her Leafia shot forwards, heading towards the real Manectric. It leapt, grabbing for the scruff of its neck. It wasn’t to strong, but it had enough strength and built up speed to drag it out of sight at least. At the same instant, Tara’s Ninetales burst out of the opposite end of the clearing, a snarling and terrible silver fury. It raced at the Seviper, leaping towards it, intent on attacking it, holding it back from her trainer.
((Edit: I apologize for not replying earlier, and also for the shortness of this post. Now that my AP US History test is over, I think I'll be able to post more. =3))
Loreli started when she heard the shouts of the reckless young trainer charge at her. She instantly turned to look, but unfortunately her surprise hindered her reflexes and she was too late to act; the impact sent her flying across the clearing and straight into the trunk of a tree. She groaned loudly as she tried to scramble to her feet. While the slight disorientation began to fade away, she could see a Leafia take the Manetric by the scruff of the neck and drag it to safety.
Her Seviper was quicker. Spotting the impending attack by the trainer's Ninetails, it whirled around to strike its attacker with a powerful, but not deadly, Poison Tail attack. It kept it's sinister red eyes locked on to the Ninetails. With luck, it would be able to detain the renegade's pokemon and please Seviper's Omega master.
Loreli straightened herself up and glared at the young girl who had tackled her. "Renegade," she spat.
~~~~~~

Jeremy, meanwhile, approached the gates of Lilycove, followed closely by Absol, who still carried the girl Umbrie on it's back. The Omega signaled to his fellow guards who stood by the gate. They swung the barred gates open and let the three through. Many of the residents of the camp stopped to stare at the paralyzed girl as they made their way deep into the city.

"Well well, you're lucky, miss," Jeremy said to Umbrie as he walked. "You get to catch a little glimpse of how things work here in the wonderful land of Omega. Don't worry, you're not important enough to see the Boss. We'll just be taking you into HQ for a while, 'kay?" he said with a tone similar to explaining something to a kindergartner. He laughed a little, then continued on his way.

(ooc: Well, at least you had an excuse SquirrellyFries, everyone else seems to have just disapeared without warning.)

Tara winced as her shoulder made contact with the Omega, sending a brief pain up and down her arm. The Omega was knocked away, and Tara stumbled forwards a few steps. She almost went down, but caught herself by one hand. She regained her balance, and straightened up. She was ready to bolt out of their, but she saw that Ninetales hadn’t succeeded in her surprise attack, and received a blow to the face from the Sevipers Poison Tail attack. It wasn’t enough to knock her out, but it did weaken her. Leafia had managed to get away with Manectric however, so now all Tara hoped that she would have to do was to defeat the Seviper, and the Omega, before she could beat it out of here.

Tara turned her attention back to the Omega, who had just risen to her feet. Hearing her words, she couldn’t help but smile a little. “Gee, what was your first clue?” she asked sarcastically, one eyebrow raised. Really, she was as nervous as heck, but keeping a confident appearance might help her out a little.

Tara gave a quick glance in her Ninetale’s direction, checking out the situation. Her Ninetales was faced off against the Seviper, standing a few feet from it, eyes looked with the Seviper, who didn’t seem to want to break its gaze with Ninetales. Well, that could actually help them out…..

Tara, her gaze back on the Omega, grinned. “Nighty Night.” She said, grinning. For a moment, it seemed as if her words were directed at Loreli, but then her Ninetales sprang into action.

Ninetale’s tails stiffened and rose, forming a sort of fan or flower shape, sticking out around its body. Its ruby-red eyes began to glow crimson, as it locked its gaze on Seviper in an attempted Hypnosis attack.

(I'm still here. I was waiting for someone else to post. I'll post for Umbrie next time.)

~*~*~*~*~Noah~*~*~*~*~

Noah blinked rapidly, a hand moving to his chest. There was an insistent tugging, like he should be doing something other than sitting around. It was bugging the heck out of him, returning every so often to make itself known before leaving yet again. But what was it?

Finally sighing, he pushed himself up, dusting off his jeans and looking at the sleeping Pokemon around him. Bella had perched herself atop a nice branch of a nearby tree, here Katie, Alice and Éclair lie underneath. Kai was resting under a bush, though his one good eye roamed the clearing many times, but Rei had to be returned to his Pokeball. He couldn't stay out of water for long.

"Alright everyone," he called out, gaining the attention of all the Pokemon," We're scraping our plans from earlier and tracking them now. We at least have to get to Lillycove so we can keep an eye on them. Maybe, if we're lucky, we can stage an attack soon or something."

All of Umbrie's Pokemon instantly agreed to the idea, and it was at that moment Jasper entered the clearing. He growled deeply, his chest rumbling with the movement, and knelt down so Noah could climb on his back.

Noah smiled solemnly, returning all of the Pokemon and doing just that. Once settled Jasper took off, bounding through the trees swiftly, his paws scraping the earth and tearing grooves within the soft soil. His eyes were determined, all they focused on was getting Umbrie back. And Noah agreed with him. They had to get her back from there. With her health as unstable as it was, they couldn't afford to loose track of her.

((Sorry for the delay again. >_<))

Seviper's eyes widened in surprise as it realized what was happening, and then they drooped again as it's entire body slumped to the ground in fatigue. Loreli looked over at her pokemon and stared with her mouth agape, shocked that her own Seviper would be foolish and weak enough to fall under an opponent's Hypnosis attack. Her face grew bright red with fury as she watched the black snake start to make a sound like snoring. "SEVIPER! What in the world do you think you're doing!? Wake up this instant!!" she roared at it, stamping her foot irritably. When she received no response whatsoever from her pokemon, she growled again and turned her hawk-like gaze toward Tara once again.

"Fine then, if that's the way you want to do it, I'll take you in myself!!" she hissed. She took off with amazing speed, running straight at Tara like an assassin. At the last second, however, she ducked to the side, slipped past Tara and made a move to grab her from behind.

~~~~~
"Ah, here we is!" Jeremy said cheerfully as he and the Absol carrying Umbrie stopped in front of the door to a holding cell. He pulled out a ring of keys, unlocked the door, and opened it. Absol walked into the room, which for a cell seemed rather comfortable. It looked like it had once been used as a small meeting room, which it probably had, as the Omegas had taken over the tallest office building in the city and made it their HQ. Absol carelessly leaned to the side, dumping Umbrie onto the ground.
Jeremy looked at Umbrie with a satisfied grin, then motioned to Absol to follow him out. "She'll wake up by the time we come to question her. Come on, let's get you back to Loreli." He closed the door and locked it behind him.
(ooc: Its ok, I just lost my internet for the past few days, so I couldn't have replied anyhow.)
Tara narrowed her eyes at Loreli’s reaction to her Sevipers being hypnotized. It wasn’t really Sevipers fault, most Ninetales didn’t even know how to use that attack. Tara was just lucky enough to get a Ninetales that had a parent that knew the attack, and passed it on to her. Loreli didn’t seem to care about that though, of course, Tara had no recollection of ever meeting an Omega that actually cared about their pokemon.
Tara was taken by surprise when Loreli rushed at her. Thinking she was going to tackle her, the way she had tackled her, and braced herself for that mode of attack. When Loreli ducked past her, she was of balance, and unprepared. When Loreli grabbed her from behind, Tara started to topple straight to the ground.
((I'm still here!!! >_< I've just been extremely busy. I'm so sorry. I'll try posting now, even if it's a little short.))
Loreli grinned as the fight began to turn in her favor. She held onto her target with a strong grip.
"Alright renegade, you better behave yourself. You're coming back to Lilycove with me whether you want to or not. I don't need you causing trouble for me." There was a hint of weariness in her voice, not entirely hidden by the venomous threats.
While she kept her grip tight, she tried to drag Tara backward with her. It really wasn't the best way to abduct someone, and Loreli cursed herself for letting Absol go. Walking backward was slightly awkward, and she feared loosing her grip on the renegade trainer.
(ooc: Well, at least one person besides me still want to continue the roleplay.)
Tara managed to keep herself from falling, but instead found herself in the grip of the Omega. For a moment, she froze in shock, and made no effort to struggle as the Omega started hauling her backwards, heading in the general direction of Lilycove. But if Loreli thought that she would remain like that, it was a big mistake. It was time to turn to her emergency plan, one she hadn’t really had a chance to use yet. The plan? Act nuts.
Suddenly, Tara opened her mouth and let out a loud piercing shriek, one that almost didn’t sound human, but more animal. Then, Tara started thrashing around wildly, jerking her arms around in her captors grasp, clawing at the restraining hands with her fingers. She kicked out wildly behind her with her ratty old boots, hoping to connect with a nee or a shin-bone. She even went so far as to twist her head around wildly, snapping her teeth and trying to bite Loreli. If nothing else, these tactics could probably make anyone doubt her sanity.
Also, her little struggle had another effect. Her Ninetales, seeing her struggle, left the Seviper where it was and rushed to her trainer’s aid. She was heading straight for Loreli, teeth bared, blood-red eyes flashing, all fur standing on end. That usually was enough to make anyone think twice.
((Two weeks.. drat.. Well, I'll post this anyway, and if anyone happens to still be here they can reply. Sorry Mew!!!))
"Aaahh!! What the?!?" Loreli loosened her grip in shock when the girl began to thrash wildly. She tried her best to keep her grip on the trainer, but couldn't very well carry her to Lilycove as she was. "Stupid girl!! You know.. ergh.. acting like this won't.. do you any good!!" she tried to say with superiority while she struggled to keep the girl restrained.
But just then, she saw a flash of cream-colored fur and a large set of sharp teeth coming straight at her. "AAAAAHH!" she screamed with a non-typical high pitch and then let go of Tara, choosing instead to duck down and roll quickly to safety away from the Ninetales' line of attack.
Loreli groaned, and scampered quickly to her feet. Knowing that the Ninetales would probably turn on her as soon as it could, she stumbled along in the opposite direction before breaking out into a full run. Even as she did so, she cursed herself through bared teeth. Omegas were not supposed to run! No, they were superior! They had unimaginable power! Loreli looked over her shoulder toward the renegade trainer and her pokemon. Why was it that she felt the need to run away from such a minimal threat?
She thought too long. While her head was turned, her foot caught a protruding tree root in the middle of the ground. In a matter of seconds, she was on the ground, out cold. A single special Omega pokeball came loose from her belt and rolled away from its owner.
(ooc: Well, I'm still here at least.)
Tara failed around wildly, kicking, punching, scratching, and even biting out at Loreli, all in an effort to free herself. It did not do a whole lot of good, her little stunt, but at least she could delay any progress in the direction of Lilycove for a while. At least until another patrol heard the noise and investigated. Tara knew she couldn’t keep this up forever, but fortunately, she didn’t have to.
Tara’s Ninetales bound into the scene, having abandoned the Seviper where it lay sleeping. The shock of her arrival seemed to have frightened Loreli enough, as she released Tara and attempted to make her escape. Tara’s Ninetales only pursued it for a short while, long enough to ensure she would not come back. She was already turning to return to Tara when Loreli came crashing to the ground, one pokeball coming loose from her belt, rolling away.
Tara, the instant she had been released, was all ready to race away. However, before she had gotten her chance, she saw Loreli trip and come crashing to the ground, apparently knocking herself out. Still, Tara would have run, if it hadn’t been for that one pokeball. She was no thief; she only took what she needed to survive out here. Still, the Omega’s had three of her pokemon, it seemed only fair she took at least on of theirs.
Swiftly, Tara darted forwards. She ran right past the ball, then, turned, and raced past it again, this time bending down so she could scoop it up at a run, without loosing any speed in racing the heck out of here.
