Okay the story is that one day a few good pokemon trainers wake up to find they're not in the pokemon world anymore... no they're in our world. Now they have to train and grow animals to fight as if they were pokemon.

There are basically all the regular animals in real life, but only use the ones in your area... for example you can't start out with a bear... you aren't strong enough anyway. you have to kinda work up. You fight two on one, unless it's another trainer. There's different divisions. Like you can't fight a bear with a rat or something... it's unheard of.

Types (all animals fall into one of these types, and it is a generalization. EX: the emu is a bird but doesn't fly)

Mammals (Have hair, Warm Blooded, give live birth)
Birds (Lay eggs, have feathers, fly, warm blooded)
Reptile (cold blooded, lives on land)
Amphibian (animal that lives on land or in the water)
Fish (live in the water, have gills, lay eggs)
Insects and Spiders (smaller animals with 6 or more legs, lay many eggs at once)
Invertabrataes (animals without spines, live in water, sometimes land)
Extinct (any animal that did exist, but not anymore)

The starters are as follows: Vulture, Snake, or Mongoose
It's kind of like the rock/paper/scissors, except that they are all pretty much equal, but from different types. Bird, reptile, and mammal.

Here's what you needto get started:

Type (what you're good at training)

Well I guess we can get started... I'm not sure if we should start around our own houses, cause it's pretty easy to know the animals that live near you... I live out in the wilderness near a lake... so here's my list of animals. Try to make a list too, or use mine as a basis for yours. You _can_ add what season it's in, but not needed.

Okay here is some more explanation of stuff... All animals have their own abilities, like deer have antlers, misquitoes suck blood, venus fly traps are good against small and bug types, humming bird can move more evasively, fire ants inject blood. Stuff like that, not to hard, it's just their ability, but they can have made up or already made moves.

For example:

Vampire Bat
Leech Life (known move)
Echo (made up)
Super Sonic (known move, but might have a different effect)

Well there's more to add, and the items aren't exclusively for what they say. Like the Bug/Fish net can be used to catch small birds or whatever... it's not mechanical like the game so you can use items how you want.
