I'm trying to catch Latias on Saphire, I used to have it but stupid me I either new gamed it or traded Latias for that mysterious Moltres in my box on Ruby then New gamed Saphire, I new gamed it either way I definatly did, otherwise there wouldn't be "a mysterious red pokémon flying around Hoen" on the TV. Anyway, I've got a Problem catching her again, I've defeated the Elite 4, watched TV, wandered around Hoen for some time now, maybe a few hours, I've been using Max repels because apparently Latias/Latios is the only pokémon you can battle whilst using Max repels but strangly enough, I've been fighting normal Pokémon with the Max repel on... strange but true, I've got a below lv40 pokémon that's fast with sleep powder, I've tried methods on loads of sites and I STILL don't have Latias!!! Have I missed something out? Can someone tell me a way that definatly works?

Even with all of your trying catching Latias is still a random thing to an extent. You can't predict it's appearance 100%. I guess you've just been unlucky:sad: and need to keep trying:wink: .

Your strategy you're using know should be working.
Are you changing routes while using the repels? You have to change routes, or Latias will stay in the same spot. Latias will move routes when you enter/exit a house, change routes or use Fly.
I caught mine in the water routes below Mossdeep city. It's good to use your Max repels there as the routes are close together.
Just use the Max repel while surfing near the border to the next route, you shouldn't get many battles, if any at all. After a while of nothing, change routes and do the same thing. Eventually you'll get it.

Some good ideas Shady, I HAVEN'T been changing routes whilst using Repels, I went in a cave I think and I used fly LOTS :rolleyes: so yeah, that's probably the reason
Thanks everyone! I hope I get that Latias using your hints 'n' tips ;)

I learned it moves rite when you fly! So when it is far away, fly to the town you're in right now, check you dex, and should have moved....repeat untill it's close enough to ride your bike to! Do not use repels when using my method! I garruntee this works!!!!!

Go to the route where the safari zone is.
Keep going in and out of the front doors and you'll find it eventually. (Do Not pay to go into the safari zone.) Check the Pokedex everytime you go back out to the route. If you have no master balls, follow some of these.
#1. Have a Wobuffet in the lead position and battle Latias. (Wobuffets ability "shadow tag" won't allow it to escape).
#2. Have your lead pokemon know the move "Mean look". This way it can't escape either as long as the pokemon that used mean look is there. If you switch out, it'll fly away.
#3.(Very effective) Use sleep powder or spore or hypnosis. Spore would be your best bet.
After that, switch out a pokemon that knows false swipe. Keep using false swipe until you're sure it has 1HP left.(No matter what, False swipe will always leave the opponent with 1HP). I would say train a pokemon to LV. 100 that knows false swipe and then go with this technique. Actually it would be best for you to have all LV. 100's with you.:ermm: You are guaranteed a capture with this.
