I'm restarting my Sapphire and I wanted to go in a completely new direction with my team. I was wondering, how good is Flygon? Is it worth training a Trapinch all the way to a Flygon?

If so could you give me a good in-game moveset since I don't think that I will be battling any of my friends any time soon.

Thanks!!!!

Wow um... pretty good! He'll get you far with his resistance but you won't get him till about the 7th badge! (by evolving a trapinch lv.5)

There pretty good. A good way to get a Dragon-type pokemon. I have one and it's pretty useful.

He's pretty hard to train before you reach level 40+ and get Flygon, but it's easier than training a Bagon, and his resistances are cool!

What moveset and EVs did you give him?

Yes, but the extra training for Bagon is worth it, because Salamence is far, far better than Flygon.

Flygon is meh... Not good, not bad...

I'd say Altaria is better in most cases, because of higher defences.

salamence is better than flygon but rarer, flygon is pretty good
i think this is a good set:
crunch
dig
dragon claw
rest

use hyper beam if u like

LOL.

Crunch is LOL on Flygon. Crunch is a Special move in R/S/E, and Flygon's Sp. Atk isn't very good.

Rest? Why? What is there to work with Rest?

And Hyper Beam is LOL... Only good on Slaking, because he misses a turn anyways...

If you want a decent Flygon, first try to get Salamence... But if you must use Flygon...

Dragon Claw/Attract
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Body Slam

Dragon Claw is ok on Flygon, but again his Sp. Atk isn't very good. Attract is decent because it gives your opponent a 50% chance of not using a move, damaging or otherwise.

If you want to use Rest, use this:

Rest
Sleep Talk
Earthquake
Body Slam/Rock Slide

Sleep Talk randomly uses your own moves, and Body Slam is stronger than Rock Slide and has 30% chance of Paralyze. But Rock Slide hits Flying, Bug, Ice, and Fire for super effective damage.

I agree with the. He really knows what he's talking about.

I actually like Flygons, I've had many good experiences with them. If used right, they're very strong in battle.

Ya... I pretty much decided against Flygon. I think that I'm going to get a Dusclops as my last pokemon even though I really would like a Bagon!!!!

Flygon was actually on my original team for a while, and he was pretty decent, but I never expected him to kick butt or save me from a losing situation. He really imo, is just another pokemon out there. There are better choices.

Are you going to trade eggs of your team to your new save file? I'd say Flygon is good, but Dusclops is probably a better choice.

A good Flygon would be:
Rockslide
Earthquake
Dragon Claw
Flamethrower

Earthquake is the best move that Flygon can get, with 150 power after STAB. Dragon Claw also gets STAB, and is useful against Drake. Rock Slide hits Flying mons that Earthquake can't touch, and Flamethrower hits Ice mons hard. Just incase he is your last mon and you are facing one.

Flygon is agreat pokemon so a good combination of moves makes it better
try:
Flamethrower
Fly
Earthquake
Crunch

for a great moveset

For me Flygon was the best dragon type. He helped win me a few rounds at the battle tower place. Along with a Grumpig and Azumaril of course. But he doesn't evolve until level 45. You might want to hold off on getting him. But when you do it's worth it. Especially since I don't think you can catch a bagon in Sapphire.

Flygon? Good, but not too good

I'd prefer to use the starter pokemon
