From what I know. Shiny Pokemon were introduced in Gold/Silver.

So, yeah. No Shinies in Red/Blue/Yellow.

EDIT: Yay, I win. xDD

But theres a chance that R/B/Y pokemon will be shiny when you trade them into G/S/C.

This is true. If the Defence, Speed, and Special DVs are all equal to 10 and an Attack DV of 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, or 15 then this would happen. Easy way to make this done is the Blue Ditto trick for example.

Nope it's very possible. Try trading your Red Gyarados over to RBY and see for yourself; it will let you trade.
are you sure it will shiny in r/b/y?

Well you won't be able to see that it's shiny in RBY but when you trade it back over to GSC it will be. Finding a shiny pokemon in GSC is determined completely by DVs. The DVs for Defence, Speed, and Specials must all be equal to 10 for it to be shiny. If this were to happen in RBY it would be no big deal but when you trade it over to GSC, the game will recognize the DVs and show a shiny Pokemon.

From my experience i dont think its possible to get any shiny pokemon in R/B/Y you can only get them in G/S/C.

There is no such thing as a shiny pokemon in RBY. There is, however, such things as Pokemon which have 10 as their DVs for Defence, Speed, and Special. When you trade such Pokemon over to GSC they are shiny Pokemon.

Do you know how to get them or how rare they are?

Random, just like any other shiny in any other game so there isn't a way to search for these Pokemon. I believe the chances of finding one is 1/8192 (not 100% sure in RBY/GSC).

Actually, there is no shiny pokemon in R/B/Y,though some look like they are...In my opinion, shiny pokemon in G/S/C came about because Nintendo acidentally programed the game wrongly, then found that the excuse of "shiny pokemon" was a good one.

So you are saying that the Shiny Gyarados at the Lake of Rage was an accident? That some kink in the programming made many NPC talk about shiny Pokemon? That each Pokemon graphic just randomly spawned another of a different colour?

Shiny Pokemon definately were intended.
