This was an idea that I'm hoping will help readers read recommended stories on this forum, to either help inspire them with ideas, give them something enjoyable to read, or simply because it's a great piece of fiction.

This'll be listed in the Story Board (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31367) thread. Something like this:

* Username: The Story

The * would mean it's been recommended. After so many, maybe 6-7(?), then I'd color the story Red.

HOLY POOP ON IN MY RAMEN!!! I remember you! I thought you dissappeared a loooong time ago. I think some of your stuff is totally eligible, haven't read them in over a year, but I thought they were good then, so I'll probably like them now.

yes i am back from the dead. Because I bought Pokemon Diamond and now my love for all things pokemon is again at it's peak. I have just been too busy lately. But I am on holidays for a month or so. So... yeah. If you want a refresher on my stuff, click my sig to take u to my story. the first couple of chapters are crap... but yeh...

i was jut perusing some of the latest stories... man some of these kids don't know the first thing about writing aye...

Haha, me too. I got Diamond and felt the same way. No they don't, but I'm not really complaining. I noticed that fic writer membership is through the roof, which is a double-edged sword in it self, but feels a lot better than three or four frequent writers. It tempts me everyday to bring back my review corner (I don't think you were there for that).

I'm not the best writer... And certainly not the worst!

But I think I'd be up for some recommending. I like reading Fan Fic's and then reviewing them.

I've read some awesome ones and would like to recommend them...

I'm not sure if you have to have a certain number of posts or not... :oops:

Well, you are recently new to the forums. I'd like to give you a little more time before commiting you. Continue helping around the fanfic boards, write some more stories. Hopefully, your popularity and influence will grow. :wink:

So, now we have a starter panel. Any stories you liked, just post the link here, say a little something about it, and I'll make the necessary edits. Which reminds me, I need to edit the Story Archive with the new stories.

Solar Destiny: Tales of War (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47329) by Deoxys_Trainer

I think it's definitely a good piece of writing, and it moves smoothly. It's not over-descriptive, but you have no problems picturing the scene in your mind. Also, despite being a BIT like the Trial of Junos (what with a human becoming a Pikachu) it has potential for being VERY different from Neo's masterpieces. I just think it's one of the better stories in reccent times, and something that you can enjoy when waiting for something to downlod or load...

Well, we can start with the obvious. XD

Despair's Hope by Saya (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48378)

Strong narration on the short story. You can feel the allure of it. Even if it is just a one-shot, it's worth a read.

Yea, I think you're in the same boat with Djax. Just give it a little more time.

Of course, the benefit to having the panel, is that if a majority think someone can join, then they can join. That way it's not entirely up to one person, aka me.

I know, I'll contribute my story recommendations soon. Probably after the War season.

Though, I never really considered myself that senior of a member, I guess I am now.

The Ties that Bind - By Saffire Persian (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16435) - I always considered this one of the most well written shorts on the site. I liked it then, I like it now. It's also one of those one of a kind 2nd person written fics.

Ditto.

But I suppose this is a good place for vet writers to meet other vet writers who they haven't met. I mean, I think someone like Bay wasn't around during Skottie's time (neither was I, come to think of it :P), so they'll get to meet and read each others' works. And recommend other pieces.

Also, is there a limit to the number of recommendations you can make at a time? I mean, obviously I won't be recommending ten stories at once...but I'm just wondering.

Got the PM... so let's recommend. (The poorest paraphrase of the contest leader in R/S ever.)

@Redlark: Amen to that. That piece is... the quality that any other piece would eventually become by good writers if editing and revising were replied and the piece was polished. I second that. (Which I think I interpret as a way for, eventually, the nominated piece to be colored red, which would be like a consensus.)

A recommendation or two:

Trial of Juno I and II. [Click] (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28008)

It is the bible for a pokémon action fic. Each chapter being short and concise makes it excellent for a forum setting, and its remastered version polishes an already extraordinary piece.

Don't Cry Misty [Click] (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15377)

It too is an excellent piece, a very emotional work starting with the first line. The first person point-of-view is well presented and works excellently.

(And Jack: a sidenote, but I was looking through the thread for some good things to recommend, and you have me writing Morphic - should be Dragonfree.)

Heh, I'm with RM- Getting a PM to be asked to help was very cool. ^^;

I've stuck to URPG stories mostly, in the past, but once WAR gets a bit quieter and I have time to get to reading some of the great fanfics here, I'd be glad to help with this.

My recommendation would go to RocketMeowth, for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Team Nine Lives to the Rescue (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20079).

Deep, creative, reflective, this story does it all, and I've been pleasantly surprised on many accounts throughout the story and the interaction between the characters. Plus, the background storyline, the organization behind the rescue force, the ranks, and the sub storylines with Henry and Naru are very deep and interesting. Also, everything is very well developed that you easily forget the fact that several of the characters are named and modeled after PE2K members. Here, they have a very fresh and involved story of their own, and all of their personal experiences all build up to the main problem at hand involving the orbs of creation.

I read this fic very religiously, and I definitely recommend it to anyone itching to get into a very enticing and exciting story.

Well, I'm recomending a story that I've been posting - Aeon (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36423).

It's not written by me; it's written by a friend of mine (Scrap) and she's currently in Africa, if I recall correctly. I've been posting it, and its really a grand fic (which unfortunately has too little reviews to justify...) It's harbored loads of attentio and regconigiton from members of Serebii forum, and I brought it here in hopes for other people to read this marvel.

Its a very cool story, with excellent descrpition and stuff. The thing about Aeon is that its chapters are not in chronological order at all - rather, it skips between the past, present and future and only highlight the more... important stuff rather than a whole slogging journey. But Scrap pulls the style off really well, and results in a totally amazing story that somehow, acts like a puzzle as well, a new piece given with each chapter.

I highly recomend everyone to read this, even if its me posting it... ><;

Fic recommendation: The whole heartedly unloved and unnoticed 'A Bumpy Ride (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44288)' by Ejunknown. I personally loved it - It's exciting, fast paced, and most certainly the best written Naruto fic on this forum - And trust me, I've checked. Akatsuki FTW!

Deathspector: I am utterly in love with Fall Out Boy. :3 Got their CD ('Infinity on High', I believe it is) at Easter and have been playing it ever since. I love the entire thing. XD

I would like to make a recommendation.

Seven Paths (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47952) by WorkThoseStripes

The premise of the fic is that seven Eevee are orphaned at birth and raised by a Ninetales. While out exploring one day, some are captured by humans, and some escape. The fiction tells of their lives after they are captured and evolved into the seven Eeveelutions.

The fic is very straightforward, easy to read, and descriptive and emotional without being melodramatic. You can't help but feel empathy for these Pokemon, whose circumstances are not entirely their own fault. It's not done yet, but it deserves a read.

Request as much or as little as you want. I have a good handful to name myself, once I'm feeling better. :sad:

I was thinking, how about we each have 1 post in this thread that lists our individual recommendations, then it can be linked in the first post and people can check the types of stories a certain author likes. Of course, you keep posting any new recommendations, and then simply go back and edit that post. For example, my post after this one is just an example, you can be more creative. :wink:
*edit* I'm scratching the above idea, it's not necessary.

Also I'm going to change the first post so that anybody can recommend stories, but only those that have joined the panel will be marked in the archive. And I've added a new Join Form, for anybody that wants to join.

To me fanfic is the core of the fandom that adds more depth to the pokemon world:).
That is the reason why even when the most simple pokemon game that everyone hates is made I am rubbing my hands together thinking 'Oh, this would make a great story!'

You should read Neo's Trial of Juno fics, then :wink:. Deathspector has some awesome fics too, if you care to find them, Rocketmeowth's PMD: Team Nine Lives to the Rescue! is great IMO, and Darth Murkrow's fic (on hiatus), Chronicles of the Shards, is also worth a read.

Most of the better authors are the ones who have been around forever and a day and started to post their work a year ago or more. But I've noticed (most) new members only seem to focus on whatever is on the front pages and are not much into digging for a good story :P. The same is very true on FF.net....

I don't know if I'm supposed to say this here, but I think:

Since four known stories from PE2K have been stolen recently (a number of times) and have been posted on other websites, I think it should be recommended for every fan fic to have, in the first post, where they have posted that particular story so that if someone happens to come across it on another website that they didn't mention it was on, they could report it to the author. Do you guys think this is a good idea?
