I've been breeding a lot of people and checking out their IV's, but it really takes a long time to find one with good IV's in all the stats that are important.
So far, the only fruitful piece of my work is an abra with 28 IV's in Sp. Attk and Speed.
Any of you guys IV breed as well, if so, got any advice on IV breeding you can share? I feel like it's taker longer than it should to get pokemon with good IV's.

Well, it does take a long time
The best i can suggest is that once you get a relatively good IV'd Pokemon, replace the father with it, so you'll have a better chance of getting better IV's. Of course, the mother should always be a good IV'd Ditto with an Everstone and the nature you want the offspring to have
I IV train to a point. I look for above average stats and settle with that. The time it takes to get perfect IVs is extremely high and the difference between a Pokemon with perfect IVs and one with above average IVs (in the 20s) is less than 10 stat points at level 100.
As long as the important stats (relative to the Pokemon) are in the 20s, then I don't mind.

this is what I do, for example if u want an Abra with max Spd n SpAtk n above average defenses n HP:
First catch a female Abra or Kadabra with Perfect Spd or SpAtk (it doesn't matter abaout the other stats), then catch a male compatible pokemon with perfect Spd if ur female abra has perfect SpAtk (again... it doesn't matter about the other stats), then breed them until u get an Abra with perfect Spd n SpAtk.
now do the same thing but with perfect defenses n breed ur Perfect Defenses poke with ur Perfect Spd n SpAtk one, until u get the Abra of ur dreams.
Keep in mind that the baby will get 3 stats from the parents, the other 3 r random.
I always do that n IMO its the best way to get a perfect/semi-perfect pokemon

Breeding for IVs is really a pain but kinda fun when you get into it.
I'm not looking for amazing IVs, IVs in the 20s for stats I really care about/would be nice to have is good enough.
I'm currently reaching the climax of my IV work. I started by generationally breeding the guys I want to form a party with, taking the best (IV-wise but mainly focusing on the stats I really care about) males and females of each set, release the rest and continue until I get 'great parents'. (It's a pain when I deal with the starters since the rate of females is low for 'em and I try to get at least five females) So far I breeded 3-4 generations for each 'mon. (And If I count where I'm up to now that branches off into about +1-5 cousin branches.)
Currently, I'm taking the best females of my current gen and am trying to get a nature lock using Dittos of that nature and the Everstone I breed for 10-20 females of the right nature. (I also have to make sure they equal or surpass their Mothers in overall IV spread. Took a good number of tries so far. Also, it must be female as some males have specific bred moves I can't afford to lose. Otherwise, exceptions are made) Then after that with my 'great parents' I'll do the long process of pure lockdown. (Saving in front of the daycare and seeing if the Pokemon is of right gender, nature and ability.
It'll be better when I do the actual EV work... But that guide in GameFaqs came quite in handy, I always wanted to breed for really good guys but never knew how myself and always kept messing up.

Hardcore breeding takes too long. I check for Nature, normally I will accept 1 or 2 of the best Natures. Then check if their IVs aren't too bad. That's okay for me, though in the light of WiFi battling, I may choose to raise the bar a little. But seriously, breeding requires lots of patience.

Meh, I really don't think that 10 extra stats here or there would be anything gamebreaking. I think you'll have a hard time finding a challenge over WiFi anyways which means perfect IVs would in most cases just be overkill.

My breeding came to a screeching halt when I accidentally saved after I gave a pokemon all of my rare candies . So ever since, I've been training a group of pick-up pokemon to get my supply back. Originally I used just a group of 6 lvl 41 zizagoons, and it took a really long time to just get 35 rare candies. Now my team is quite stronger, but still takes a while to get rare candies.
Do any of you able get a large mass of rare candies from your pick-up pokemon? And how many rare candies do you guys give your pokemon before you check their IV's. This part is just frustrating for me since you can only give it to them one at a time.

I will try that, hopefully no side-effects will occur.

Well, the glitch is working for me, but I feel like all that work training my linoones is wasted now. Oh well, at least I can still get some Earthquake TM's for my pokemon .
