Need help; Shoal cave

Does the Tide level at Shoal Cave change every 6 hours you play the game for or every 6 hours in real life?

Also, if it's 6 hours starting from midnight, is it:
- 12am-6am=High tide, 6am-12pm=Low tide, 12pm-6pm=High tide, 6pm-12am=Low tide,
OR
- 12am-6am=Low tide, 6am-12pm=High tide, 12pm-6pm=Low tide, 6pm-12am=High tide?

im pretty sure between 12 and 6 PM is low tide, but dont take my word for it

Every six hours in real life. The game has a clock that keeps running even if you're not playing.

- 12am-6am=High tide, 6am-12pm=Low tide, 12pm-6pm=High tide, 6pm-12am=Low tide,
OR
- 12am-6am=Low tide, 6am-12pm=High tide, 12pm-6pm=Low tide, 6pm-12am=High tide?
High Tide is between 9am - 3pm and 9pm - 3am.
Low Tide is between 3pm - 9pm and 3am - 9am.
