And I mean old. Oregon trail (http://free-game-downloads.mosw.com/abandonware/pc/educational_games/games_n_r/oregon_trail_deluxe.html) was always a lot of fun.

Well this should be in the Other: Games/Cards.

Oregon Trail was awesome.

This game, Rockin' Cats, made my day when I was around 4 years old.

Better than the first Megaman, less obvious than the latter, this one is my favorite Megaman from the NES series.

I like the original Sonic the Hedgehog games. Then they started introducing too many new characters and it got distasteful after a while.

Anyway...

- Bayou Billy (NES) - Fun, but very hard, especially on the driving levels. Excellent use of the Zapper.

- MERCS (Genesis) - Definitely a lesser-known and highly under-rated game. This game kicked serious ass, and was a sheer delight for battle freaks such as myself. Nothing better than games that let you have serious firepower, drive insane vehicles, and destroy practically everything in sight.

- Streets of Rage 2 (Genesis) - The first one was good, but the second one gave you the comfort of having a sweet beat-em-up game that's just as good as what was in the arcade right at home. Loved it, but those robots toward the end of the game were annoying.

- Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES) - I lost several years of my childhood thanks to this one. Great length, loads of fun and hidden extras, definitely a game that showed creative and clever use of programming. Shame to see all these newer, more graphic games losing this charm just to look better.

- Earthbound (SNES) - The fun RPG you didn't need to take seriously, and didn't try to be politically correct. Definitely loaded with a lot of things you'd never expect from an RPG game...

Ah, MERCS. Too bad I missed it when it came out in arcades long time ago. Was I even born then? ):

But, one of my favorite old games was Mega Man 3 for the GB. For some odd reason, I always loved that game.

I had that game. Play control in the fighting levels were brutal on the fingers if you used the normal controller. Praise the Lord I had a NES Max controller which made fighting (and driving and shooting) a little easier. I liked the sound test feature, though.

Another game I really enjoyed 'Shatterhand' (NES), a sci-fi beat-'em-up where you could get little robot sidekicks that gave you additional firepower.

I have that game. Still around my home, hopefully.
The last one's a tough one until you discover it's weak point. Oh, and try defeating the altered version of metal man... 3 hit, KO!

1) Goldeneye (N64): Best shooter EVER, and great fun when it came out. This basically made the FPS genre, up there with Doom and Halo. Oddjob, kneeling, slapping ftw ^_~.

2) Mutant League Football (Sega Genesis): Basically, tons of mutants playing football. But you could do things like bribe the ref, and then if they bribed the ref you could kill the ref for a penalty XD. You could also kill the QB if he was doing too good, for a penalty :P. Great and hilarious, I love it ...

3) That One Sonic Game Starring Knuckles And Friends (That one thing that you put on a genesis to play special games :P. Forgot what it is called :(.): They were like ... put together by a ring or something, and you played it with a friend ^^.

4) Loony Toons All Star (Sega Genesis): Tons of sports, play as a loony toon, special powers <3.

5) Baldurs Gate (PC): Not THAT old, but a great RP.

More, of course, but I will stay with 5.

Ah yes, I never forget that one either. The RC-P90 was my favorite gun in that game. Nothing better than a loud, cool-looking kickass gun.

Try beating the Train level with the Enemy Rockets cheat on with no other cheats. I almost managed to do it but Natalya always dies on me.

5) Baldurs Gate (PC): Not THAT old, but a great RP.

Great gameplay, graphics, and design, but the difficulty is WICKED. Too many times, the game was quick to punish you for simple mistakes, and it loved targeting the weaker members of your party so they would die first. The mines were freaking insane. Nothing like amped up hordes of kabolds that quickly murder your party members and give virtually nothing for Exp. Plus, playing an evil character only made the game ten times harder, and that was distasteful.

The music in that game was really good though, but the designers should have been a bit more forgiving. My brother and I tried cheating the hell out of this game and we still couldn't beat it.

I was always a fan of the laser and golden gun.

Laser because it had no ammo, of course.

Golden Gun because in multi we would all run to it, I would get it first, and I would kill everyone with one shot until my brother started to cry :o. I was a mean little man, but he wanted to play :P.

I tried replaying it and I SUCKED ... Could not aim at all.

The N64 was prolly the best system ever, it had so many great games. Mario Kart for the N64 was better then the newer one, I think ...

And it had the amusing talking Pikachu thing xD.

We usually only played multiplayer with either Power Weapons, Rocket Launchers, or one-shot-kill pistols. And then after that, Perfect Dark pretty much ate that game up.

N64 was awesome though. I have trouble going back to the original Super Smash Brothers though after getting so used to Melee. It feels so much slower and much more clunky.

Ditto, but I still play it now and again :P.

You are right about Perfect Dark though, great Goldeneye Clone ... One thing it does even better then games like Halo and whatnot, it had those 1-4 player challenges, where you would play the computer in different campaigns. I could spend forever just doing those with my little brother ... those were awesome ^^.

That and the controlley rocket launcher :P.

Do you mean 'Sonic & Knuckles' where you plug that cartridge into the Genesis then can plug another Sonic game into the top of it? That was cool, especially how you could play 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2' as Knuckles.

Oh, great Scott, I forgot about that thing. I remember in an old game magazine where the editor-in-chief spoke about how one of the editors was trying to install the 32X and how he could be heard screaming and cussing all the way down the hallway. Still, it did have some juiced-up games (including a more true-to-the-arcade version of 'NBA Jam').

Oooo, Orange Flaaffy is stealing bandwidth. Shame, shame, shame.

More of a ripoff, just using Medieval weapons instead. It wasn't bad though, but it had a lot in common with Doom.

Most of those sites are dead actually :P But I hardly ever do it, and never for my own site :) I should upload them, but I feel more like I am stealing if I don't have it linked to the site it came from, so I am evil ether way in my book -.-

Heretic was a rip off in a way, but I liked it better than Doom becuase it had magic and arrows ;)
