Like I mentioned in the Upcoming Movies thread, this was a horrible movie. I hope they do not make another, it will ruin the Spider-Man name.

Uhh stop being so negative so it didn't appeal to the comic book? The creatir of Spider Man even said the movies were great!Oh and the director and creators will do another one if they can think up a new story that goes with this one, and most of the actors will do it if Toby and the other Main chaeracters will do it.You're not a movie critic you don't have 270 million to spend this is new technology and if you think the special effects were a walk in the park you're terribly mistaken, I can't wait to see it tohugh the fact they made the worldwide premieir in Tokyo, not in America I don't really like that.

You're right I'm not a movie critic, though I do know what I'm talking about. You said that the special effects were good, they may have been good, but was that the purpose of the film? To have good special effects? No. The movie focused to much on special effects and not enough on the plot and script. The script in this movie sounded like a first draft.

I believe that if they didn't answer most of the questions in this one and didn't do some things right they can do in th next one, and of course special effect are a big part of the movie..know what I don't really care let's compare how much people see and like it to you who didn't.I guarrentee this make over 800 million dollars worldwide!

I liked it, for the most part, but I didn't have comic books to ruin either. It seemed to be a mixed bag as far as the FXs were concerned though. Sometimes it was just stunning how detailed & lifelike everything was, then othertimes it looked like an art institute commercial (nothing personal AI).
It's definitely a Raimi picture though; Bruce Campbell and all. So old fans will dig it.

Also, Topher's totally hot, but not as hot as Toby when Venom makes him all emo.

Delicious.

Yeah, I was surprised at how choppy they were at times. I also liked the movie, mostly, but some of it seemed rushed to me. It's a solid sequel for the franchise, though, and I like how dark it became.

I loved the villians, especially Sandman. I thought he was really well done.

I liked the first two a lot, but I'll probably wait until this comes on DVD first. It probably won't be long either.

It isn't that bad. And I really don't think the comics are better. The movie has much better Sp. Effects and action.

Just came back from the movie. I liked it...a lot. For those of you who don't want to see it because of the critics, don't listen. Critics have their opinion, you have yours. See for yourself, only then will you find out if your opinions match those of the critic.

And, I see your avatar vulgarly displays this?

True to that, my friend. Some people use critics to save money, on assurance.

As for myself, I'm going to wait until I get back from TTU and have a friend of mine get me in, for free.

Yes, Emmalee, unlike you, I know the value of a dollar. In this case, the value of the dollar spent reflects the time wasted, in life. Well, I take advantage of my resources, and explore my limits without financial strain. ;-P

I liked the movie, but what I didn't like was Peter Parker as a goth, or when Eddie decided to blow himself up and jumped in the bomb. :P.

Movie video-games always suck. There's been maybe two or three cases of them not looking like crappy rushed games thrown together by some 8-year-olds on their dad's computer.

Anywho, the movie was alright. I think if the dialogue had been better and more realistic I would have enjoyed it more, but it was good nonetheless.

Spiderman should have ended in 2 series-one fight with the dad, and another fight with the son. They made spiderman 2 to suck up a couple more million bucks.

Not all of them really they enjoy making these movies its wouldn't be a good movie
without a good storyline they wanted to see how they would like it if they made him see
life without Spidey.

Dark Rider, you should hide your spoiler.

Does anyone else wonder why the American flag has been blatantly flashed in at least one scene in each movie?

*Spoiler*

Anyway, I just got back from seeing it and:

It had it's unnecessary moments, including that flag, but especially his punk/emo/whatever bout, walking down the street, snapping, all that, and the crazy dance in the jazz club. The movie really did not need that. Though it did need a Peter Parker with this anti-MJ mindset and then a realization, it did not have to go about in this way. Any other humor was also unnecessary, including the Bruce Campbell cameo. As cheesy as the movie already is, it did need these dumb moments.

Some good things I'd like to comment on: The storyline FLOWED. It was the typical hero story, but boy did they do a good job. Props to the writers. I know the meteor was a bit ridiculous, but there is really no other way the substance could have entered into the story. I expected Topher Grace to be...well...Eric Foreman. And he WAS. And as I watched in horror of his transformation into Venom, all I could think was how bad of a villain he would be. And then I watched Venom and his who gives a **** I hate Spiderman attitude, and I realized that Topher actually portrayed him really well. The only way to carry this to the end was to have him strive for power and jump to be venom again, even if it did kill him, because that's the identity that Eddie strived for the entire movie, and that is all he wanted. The Sandman was fantastic as well! You could not find a better man than Thomas Haden Church to portray a character that makes you respect him, fear him, and always believe that he is still the good guy. I mean, commooon, Jack from Sideways (Sorry I'm young, don't quite know any of his older works) can't be a BAD GUY. And he wasn't, he cared more for his daughter than he did for crime or revenge or power, and that really showed at the end. He did not mean to kill Peter's uncle, and everyone knew that from the start. The way he became the sandman was pretty sick too, even if it was a bit out of place.

And I can't leave without mentioning the UNBELIEVABLE special effects. The black substance was impeccably animated, but the real gold star goes to the sand. I have heard there are three things that any animator would have a tough-ass job animating: Fire, water, and sand. Everything about it. The way it moved, how it turned to glass, or packed when it got wet, grew into formations, flew through the air even! I was just in awe.

In summary, sure, it could use some cleaning up, but the special effects made me believe that it wasn't a bad movie at all.

Yea Same here. I thought it was rushing a bit to much especially with the evil villians coming in. But I loved it. The best of them all. Im hoping for a part four but then I dont really think there might be.
Toby said he didnt really want to do another one, and then this girl said if Toby and the other guy werent in the next movie then she might not be in it or whatever.

I finally got some money, but due to the circumstances with my Grandfather/funeral, have to wait until MOnday to see it. I don't mind though, the crowd will be thinner and I have the theatre to myself. I don't want Mary Jane mad at me for missing her play.

THe movie cost 258 million to make
As of yesterday from what I heard, it's grossed 375 million WORLDWIDE, so I guess the movie got their money back/then some!

Man, any movie ever made dating 25 years ago, it's been SHATTERED with numbers like this in a one week period. Also, comic book sales worldwide are up 12%!

It's movie franchise has probably broke the comic worlwide rating in muy opinion it will beat out the other two movies and get over 900 million dolars!I'm sure Stanley(creartor of THE Character Spiderman) Must get a ton of money these days!

I just saw Spiderman 3! Oh man...I won't detail spoilers, but it was GREAT!

The 3 villain stories were great with Goblin/Sandman/Venom. They squeezed in good documentaries.

Great to see that Goblin/Sandman had some heart and were just misguided or had problems in their lives.

Good to see Peter relating to the 'darker' side some of us can go through and learn from it. He/Mary Jane/Sandman/Goblin all learned a lesson from it.

Gwen Stacy, I thought she was conceited at first from the animation, but she turned out to have a good heart. She didn't want to do anything malicious.

Eddie Brock...got what he deserved. He cheated to get a scoop, then learned greed was bad when he went into the dark side.

Rumor has it that there are THREE more Spidermans they want to make. Next chapter might have the professor as the lizard. Not sure if Tobey or Kirsten might do it, but I got a feeling they'll squeeze in another one. It's not the same without Tobey or Kirsten playing the beloved characters we've gotten to know.

And Stan Lee made a good cameo in the movie.

After watching the movie ove the weekend I think it went quite well. It did get boring at some points where I thought they sput too much time in Peter's social life but the battles where good, especially the last one. Now I hope though that they would somehow stick around to make a sinister six movie replacing Doc ock with the Hobgoblin. Oh and seeing Carnage in a movie would be wicked as well.
