Pachirisu... don't you think it's weird of them not to change 'Pachirisu' into a more English name? 'pachi' in Japanese describes a sound similar to a spark or shock of electricity, and 'risu' means squirrel. They usually change Japanese names to English except for some legendaries, etc. It's kinda bothering me hehehe..

Pikachu wasn't changed... I guess they're keeping with tradition.

I was hoping for a more legendary name than Giratina for, well, Giratina.

I honestly don't care, Pachirisu is useless anyways.

Yeah but Pikachu has that "ring" to it.. and more people know Pokemon by remembering Pikachu's name.

What did you want them to call it? Eletric Squirrel? Pachirisu is a fine name for it, because it sounds cutsey. Live it, breathe it, learn it.

Aren't Pikachu and Gyrados also called the same in Japanese?

yeah, but it sounds good in English. Not like "Pachirisu".. you get all these Americans (no offense) saying it like "PATCHY REEEE SOO"

Squizzap?

Sparkmunk?

Litdent?

Robolt?

I'm stretching, but I can't think of too many mixable words.

Americans aren't the only ones not mispronouncing it you know.....Canadians and Western Europe (Not Spain or Portugal) speak English too.

I think that they would just give it some random name with an electric flavor.

Also, don't double post.

Yeah, sorry about that. But I meant American English, because they mostly have the 'drawl', if you know what I mean. I'm not saying it to offend anyone
