View Full Version : I Just... Can't Vote...

At first, when I was eighteen and able to vote for a president, I was glad I was finally able to be a part of the democratic system. But now... I don't know what to think. Lately, it seems that I would rather choose not to vote than selecting a canidate that I might later regret voting for.

For one thing, I dislike Bush and his idiotic campaign in Iraq, and the fact that more than a thousand soldiers that were lost for really no apparent reason. I listened to him speak on TV during the Republican Convention, and I knew that was he was saying was simply impossible to achieve. He hasnít been complying with his original ideas he made long ago, and he isnít going to achieve them in the future. That I know for sure. And lately, he hasnít been representing the United States the way it should be.

But as for Kerry, I canít trust him either. His answers are changing constantly and I still donít understand what he plans to do while in office. Plus, I'm not exactly a supporter of Liberals.

SoÖ what choice do I have besides not voting? Thing is, I have a feeling that this election, many other people are going to follow the same path, and I would hate to be a part of the people that make the system a failure, but I donít know what other choice I haveÖ

Just go Ralph Nader. Woo :tongue3:

You know, technically, you can vote for anyone you want in the United States. If people had enough votes for Bob Dole, he could still go into office, even without a campaign (that would make Fair a happy camper ).

Seriously, I wouldn't want that to come either, since losing a home is horrific no matter what.

And just for the account, Martin of the Liberals suck too. We have a stupid minority government right now that probably can't do anyhting unless the NDP joins with the Liberals to form a coalition government (THEY MUST!!!!!). Or else, we have Martin the not-so-great taking the driver's seat...man Cretiein might be a better choice than Martin...:-/

You're aware you can vote ANYONE for president. I mean anyone, including yourself.

Yeah, I know you can do that, but its pretty much throwing your vote out anyway. What I'm saying is that I wish the two major canidates were better, and I could pick which one I really admired and thought would be a good leader for the US, but now it just seems like picking the lesser of two evils.

I would vote for Nader if he had a better chance...

A vote for Nader is pretty much a vote for Bush, since he's going to slipt Kerry's vote. IMO, Nader should never have entered this race. This election is too imporant for him to mess up.

Yeah, but you're throwing your ballot away anyways by voting for Nader, or not voting at all. At least go and vote for people for Senator or governor of your state/city.

rust... first off, voting for third parties isn't thorwing away your vote :susp:

Third parties play an important role in elections... they run sometimes to throw the election... taking votes away from candidates... giving another the advantage...

Heh... I'd vote... but I am still too young... I'm gonna miss teh damn election by 3 months :susp:

Heh, I just love the quote about bush voters.

"Yeah, I'm a bush voter. Me, my wife and my sister are voting for him, both of us"

Sorry, stereotypical joke.

I never said he was gonna win... third parties have always played an important role in elections, as I have said before... Nader's campaign is very liberal... so experts beleive that Nader will steal some votes from Kerry.... giving Bush a slight advantage.... Ohio is one of the most important states though.... whoever wins that... Bush or Kerry, wins the election.
