Okay, let's get the story straight.

I've never used AR but, I've heard that it corrupts your game and from others that it does nothing to harm your game. I'm a bit confused and wanted to get everything clear.

Anyone else have any info?

And... If this is answered in a sticky or something, I apologize. I didn't think it was so, I thought I'd ask.

Another AR thread...

I've used an AR on my Diamond Version hundreds of times.
Nothing bad ever happened except 95 Explorer Kits in the mail pouch.

My brother has ARed his game, traded me Pokemon, and neither of us had any problems.

Basic summary.

"It will mess up your game!" is what you here from anti-AR users, most have never even touched one.

"Nothing bad happens." is what you here from those that actually use the machines and use them properly.

I'm sorry. I'm kind of new and I'll watch out for these things next time...

So, nothing happens. Okay.

I didn't have any idea if it was like a gameshark. My friend and I were playing our GBAs on day at my house and he had used a gameshark ALL the time and, whenever he turned it on, his ruby file said it was corrupt and he lost everything.

Yeah, I don't know how you would use it improperly, either...

Anything you hear of AR is rumored and a lie. The only time it would corrupt your game is if you do something stupid like say wanting to meet Cynthia without going through the team or having all 8 bades/full Pokedex. I remember on Pokemon Pinball that I used the catch all Pokemon, and it corrupted the game. You should only use AR for simple things like items. You can use the modified Pokemon code, but I'd only catch what can truly be in the game and get National Pokedex for legendaries. Once you get National Dex fully secured, then you can catch any modified Pokemon.

Using an AR properly is really, really easy. All you have to do is remember only to get the codes from the official Codejunkies website, and from no where else.
Using an AR incorrectly would include:

-Inserting invalid codes
-Not using codes from the Codejunkies website

Those are the only two things which could potentially cause problems, an AR corrupting your game is next to impossible as long as you remember to only use codes produced by Codejunkies.

What about the Super Cheats site? THey're coming up with things like modified move set that I was so tempting to use on my Raichu to learn say Torment, berry codes, and other stuff. Should I avoid that site and just go Codejunkies? I'm not sure on what is a good code/bad code, I don't want to crash the game.

When you use the modified code to get Pokemon, how do you discard master balls to get your Pokemon, and how can you hold the L button with one hand and try to play with the other?

You hit L+R, and it sets slot 1 of items to 493 masterballs. Go there, and toss away any number. Lets use 238 as an example, tossing 238 will leave 255 balls left. Torchic is #255 in the natdex. Hold L as you run into the grass and you will encounter Torchic.

Don't use codes unless you are certain they wont screw you up.

THanks for that info, I just bookmarked it. I can never find a good AR forum in the search, I don't know why the computer does anything but its job at times.

Codejunkies is the only website with 100% working codes, no other website has that guarantee.
