For some reason unknown to me, my computer sometimes adds the following to the clipboard:

http://master.mx-targeting.com/mx/servlet/MXTarget?adcontext=http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f%3D30&contextpeak=0&contextcount=0&countrycodein=US&lastAdTime=1096388801|1096235712|1096375243|0|1095 848564|0|0|0|0|&lastAdCode=1&cookie1=capdate%3D2812%26capdatedy%3D0928%26lupgtr y%3D1%26lupgid%3D157%26lupgdt%3D1095767752253%26lf lshdt%3D1095721610%26lstkywd%3Dpie+storie%26lstlog dt%3D20040928%26cntp%3Dtx%26capcnt%3D2%26capcntdy% 3D6%26&cookie2=fstcidt%3D

It looks like a URL, but I've tried to find the page, and there is no such thing. So, I'll copy something, and the crap above will paste instead of what I copied.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this or have any idea how to get rid of it?

i don't know if it's anything similar, but i had some copy/paste/cut probs of myself.

see, i write my fics using Corel Wordperfect then i copy it to Microsoft Word to check the Word Count. but instead of pasting the fic, it says something like "could not save in temporary word file" or something like that or it will paste an image of the Corel logo or just thick grey line. and it's only in the word programs i couldn't copy/paste. here, at the forum, i have no trouble.

the way i fix this is by restarting the computer until it works again. lol. it's happened to me about three times. im not a computer person but try restarting the computer.

weird, the url has "www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/forumdisplay" in it. that is creepy. :susp:

yeah it may be a hacker, or spyware or ad/ware, try deleting your cookies.

I delete my cookies / history / temporary internet files on a regular basis, so that can't be what's causing it.

Though I've gotten a few diognoses, does anyone have any idea of what I should do to prevent it? I already run Norton Antivirus, Adaware, and Spyboy S & D on my system.

Meh, don't worry about it...I'm clueless as to how to deal with it myself

because the people of pe2k like it that way. Though neatly is a relative understanding, as this quote clearly shows...

As for the problem at hand, or rather, at Alakazams hands, I haven't got the slightest idea what is causing this. It seems to be pe2k related, and not the work of hackers.

No, it's not related to PE2K at all. I'm guessing it's Spyware. Adaware/Spybot doesn't permanently deal with those adwares/spywares, mine was like that, kept multiplying itself so theres no way to kill all. Then I got a friend to help me with HijackIt and it sorta worked...sheesh. Maybe you can get an expert to help you or something.
