Does anyone know if certain pokemon are better at, say, a 'tough' contest, than they are at a 'cute' one. I know you can make them better with pokeblocks etc. but I was wondering if some pokemon were better from the start, like Igglybuff would be cute and Milotic beautiful, Gyarados tough and Alakazam smart? If anyone does know, or finds a site with the lists on, if there are any, can you please give it to me. Thanks in advance

You have to match up their nature (whether they like tough/sweet/sour/dry) and the move set the pokemon can learn. That way you can easily feed up the conditions, and releated conditions, and build a contest move set with chains of moves that get more points.

I know there is a correlation chart on PE2K that has the natures and what tastes they each like (one is missing off the chart, but it's one that doesn't have any special tastes anyway -- "serious").

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/rsnatures.html

Feed only high-quality pokeblocks from the hard to get berries. Sucks to feed a bunch of lower quality blocks and a-l-m-o-s-t max out a condition, and not be able to get it to the limit. Feed blocks that up related conditions, like beauty (dry), has corresponding conditions.

There are sets of moves that you can do in "chains". You know when the judge "looks expectantly at *blah*" I think is what he says. I don't have my list with me, but I'll try and get it entered tonight unless somebody else has a link to one.

pokemon-games.com might have one...

That all said, I don't much like contests, and am too busy with other parts of the game (Battle on!) to mess with them.

Too much like dog shows -- ugh. Schutzhund is another story!

Also, in looking at the chart, feed them berries that have a level of 23 with a feel of 19 to 20. You want the feel to have a lower number. Don't feed them with berries of a 12, feel of 19.

OK, all that I knew, but thanks anyway, so the looks of the pokemon has nothing to do with its ability to do well in a certain contest? So a Blaziken could do as well in a cute contest as igglybuff?

Only if it can learn good "cute contest" moves.
If it learns good "cute contest" moves and
you lay them down in the right order, and
it is maxed out in cute condition then
yeah, it could do just as well.

If it doesn't learn that many cute contest moves, you could try and compensate with some smart and beauty moves that tie in with the cute moves it does have. Especially to create chains.

So it's like beauty is as beauty does, and not what poke it is.
