I suppose you're making a Bulky Tyranitar? Well, it kind of depends on your moveset, but here's some EVs I would use:

236 HP / 224 ATK / 48 DEF

Here is a Bulky Tyranitar EV spread, with an Adamant Nature. You'll almost always want to prioritize HP over Defense EVs to cover both defenses, assuming that the sum of Defense and Special Defense is greater than HP. Exceptions to this rule include Blissey, and some others I'm too lazy to find out.

The stats, with maxed IVs, should come out to be 400 HP / 389 ATK / 268 DEF / 150 SPD / 200 SpA / 236 SpD

268 Defense should be enough, relative to 400 HP to work with. Its Specials don't matter since, based on your EV spread provided earlier, you won't be using Special Attacks. And, in this generation, Sandstorm gives him a x1.5 Special Defense boost. So, therefore, the rest of the EVs are placed in Attack.

However, if you're using Substitute then go ahead and take four Defense EVs out to max out HP EVs to maximize Substitute's potential.

My planned move set is:

-Dragon dance
-Crunch
-Earthquake
-Aerial ace

How would I work that?

If you still want the Bulky spread then you'll have to transfer the Attack EVs onto Speed in order to be able to carry out a proper dance recital. Don't worry about your Attack it will pump up with Dragon Dance. Besides, Adamant should suffice for having to compensate for having the Speed necessary.

How many EVs would you suggest I invest in both ATK and SPD? O_o;

I'm very confused, since I have seen many Tyranitar EV spreads and I'm not sure which one to go with.

Like I said, go with 236 HP / 48 DEF / 224 SPD, assuming that you want a Bulky Tyranitar with Dragon Dance.

Oh, yes, Taunt is also a suggestion, along with QuakeEdge (Earthquake and Stone Edge); those two paired together are troublesome to counter.

But wouldn't having no EVs in ATK be a problem?

I want it to kill Pokes as well as be able to sustain damage.

Not if you want a Bulky set, which the 268 Defense, 354 Special Defense (with Sand Stream's automated bonus), and 400 HP should be enough to wash away the damage while either setting up for Dragon Dance or just dishing out damage, in general.

You see, Tyranitar has potential beyond just 'killing' things, when you can have some defense and still carry out some KOing offense.

I want it to kill Pokes as well as be able to sustain damage.
Trust me, having STABed Stone Edges with 327 is still a forced to be reckoned with, without a Dragon Dance played, that is.

So my Tyranitar will be so defensive that it'll have enough time to take down Pokemon as well? I think I may go with your spread. You seem to know what you're talking about. You have experience with this spread?

Basically, yes, you can cover both defenses and offensive aspects with some ease. However, Rhyperior is superior when it comes to that. Of course, unlike Rhyperior, Tyranitar can make better use of Speed over Rhyperior.

I think I may go with your spread. You seem to know what you're talking about.
Why, thank you

You have experience with this spread?
Not with this exact one, but most Pokemon that have Bulky potential focus on HP and Defense over all-out offense. Of course, with Dragon Dance, you still need some Speed to pull it off, of else quite a bit of those Speed EVs would be on Defense instead.

And, I would try this set out, myself, but I'm currently raising a Tyranitar you couldn't comprehend. After all, it's more controversial then the one I've been recommending to you. Here (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1146335&postcount=999) it is, if you want to see it.

Sorry if my semi-creative mood is getting in your way, I just saw that you had Defense EVs, so, I put my idea of having a Bulky Tyranitar into play. ;-P
