I've been trying to get back into NB, and since OUs are whored everywhere, getting back in would almost require me to ***** OUs also. So, to get others into the swing of using random monsters, I'm hoping to interest some members in a Draft tournament, 8 or 16 people total.
Basically, this is how it would run:
Each participant would be given a random number, 1-4 or maybe the number of total participants. Beforehand, a group of useable Pokemon would be selected from all 386 and then subdivided into groups, also given random numbers, 1-4 or however many groups of participants. Basically, the people of a given number, say 1, would be able to pick 1 monster for their team from that group. Then, the numbers would rotate around sequentially. So, if there were 4 groups, members in group 1 would get the monster selection from group 4.
The members of the tourny would post what monster from the group they want, so that THAT monster can be removed from the whole group.
This is basically a card game draft tournament modified for Netbattle play. If any of you have ever played Magic or any other card game, and played in a draft tournament, you should know how this goes. For those of you who are somewhat interested, post here suggestions or questions. I'm hoping this will not only be fun, but remove the boringness of NB since no one would have the same monsters, therefore removing predictability from gameplay.
