View Full Version : [Read First] Battling Center: Rules and Regulations

06-26-2007, 03:57 PM
Welcome to the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl battle center, the perfect place to find someone willing to battle, or ask for a battle yourself. Before you start posting, please read the simple, but important rules.

The only threads allowed in this subforum are the following kinds:

- Tournaments: A number of members join and are eliminated until only 1 remains.
- Leagues: These are WiFi Gym Leagues with members battle other members who own gyms to defeat the league.
- Battle Clans: These are groups of members that battle together and against other clans.

Any thread that is not one of the subjects listed above may be closed.

- All forum rules still apply, which can be found here: Forum Guide (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28)
- Use full sentences, Capitalization, punctuation, and proper grammar. This will make you look good.
- Spamming and Flamming will not be tolerated, and punishments will be handed out as necessary. Please Report posts and contact a Moderator as necessary to handle the situation.
- Posts within the DP Battle Board need to stay on topic. Talk about battles, clans, etc etc. There are plenty of other threads on this forum to talk about other subjects. And if you want to talk with one member, you can simply send him/her a Private Message rather than posting.
- A Messenger Service, like AIM, MSN, or Yahoo, will make communication a lot easier.

This is the main reason you are here: to battle!

- Please use the sticky thread “The Official D/P Challenge Finder” (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34148) to post all single battle challenges. Don't start a thread asking for a battle, it will be closed. Please use the Battle Log Thread (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73488) to display your D/P battling stats.
- Please note that proper grammar is important when posting a battle. Using incorrect grammar looks unprofessional and will make you less likely to get accepted for a battle.
- If you are in a Clan, you may request battles from other clan members. But don't go into other clans asking for battles.

*This is important. Don't post what Pokemon and strategies other members have. Nobody likes their secrets revealed.

Accepting a Battle
- When accepting a battle, please quote the person and then respond. The “Quote” option can be found in the bottom right-hand corner of the post you want to quote.
- “ill bttle c u on wifi” type posts should be avoided. They aren’t actually against rules, but they look quite messy and unprofessional.
- Make sure to either post, or locate your friend code for the other person to ensure a quick and smooth start to a battle.
- Do not post twice in a row. If you forget to post something, please use the “Edit” button located next to the “Quote Button” on your post.

Creating a Tournament
- When someone refers to a “Pe2k Tourny” they will usually be referring to a tournament that is set up by a member on Pe2k. These tournaments are held over Wifi and generally do not have prizes.
- The next step is to create rules for your tournament such as:
What types of pokemon are allowed?
Can they use legendaries?
Are hacked pokemon allowed?
How many rounds will it be?
How many people can enter?

Questions like these help people determine if they want to enter or not. Plus it makes your post look more professional and overall better.

- Do not back out on your tournament. If you feel tired of keeping track of everything and you absolutely must quit for some reason, give the people a few days notice and try to find someone else to host the tournament.
- Unprofessional Tournaments will be closed down. You can even ask a Moderator for permission before starting.

This is a Gym League, where members take Gym Leader positions and you battle them to earn badges and become the champion.

Clans are the biggest attraction, and the most popular for battling and interacting with other members.

The purpose of a clan is to group with friends and battle each other or other clans. That means, all posts within the clan need to be Clan Related. That means all off-topic chit chatting needs to go elsewhere.

General Posts like "Hi everyone, How are you doing today?" aren't allowed. This is a forum, not a messenger service. If you want to chat freely with someone, use Daily Chit Chat (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66779) or an instant messenger. There are also plenty of threads around the forum for discussion.

You can talk about clan trading/cloning, but it highly prefered that you do trading in the Trading Board (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=78).

General Rules

- You may only be in 1 Clan at a time.
- If you are asked to not post in someones clan, then stay out. Period.
- To be an official clan, you need at least 5 active members. You can have as many members as you need.

Creating a Clan
Anyone can create a Clan, just make sure you organize it properly. Use the following form to get you started:

2)Purpose for being created
3)Rules for the clan
4)Members list
5)Member Rankings(Tryout battler, etc...)
6)Clan Banners
7)War Record

Add anything else you desire. An unorganized Clan may be closed down.

Battle Requests

For clan-related battles, you may post in the thread of the clan challenging another clan-member. For normal battles you should use this thread (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34148), which should be the main source of finding a battle.
When you find a battle, talk with them through PM/Messenger. When the battle is over, you can discuss it in your clan, but only with meaningful discussion and not short posts like "gg you were good".

Sometimes problems arrise. If you see flamming, arguments, spamming, etc, contact a Moderator or Report the post. Everytime your Report something, the forum becomes a better place to live.

Other Posts

Don't post your Banners or Sprites or other artwork, unless they are related to the clan. Don't ask for reviews for Fanfics. Don't talk about your favorite music or movies. Etc. There are plenty of threads all around the forum for those kinds of posts.

It is the Clan Leader's responsibilty to make sure his/her clan members follow these rules. If you see these rules being broken, you should take action to warn your clanmates.

Failure to follow these rules may result in any of the following actions, depending how serious:

- Clan Warning - A Mod posts in the clan as an open warning to all.
- Clan Temp Close - The Clan is closed for x amount of days.
- Clan Ban - The Clan is closed forever.
- Member Warning - A Warning to a Clan Member in particular.
- Member Infraction - A more strict warning.
- Member Temp Bans - A Clan Member is Temporary Banned from the forum for x amount of days.
- Member Ban - Perminantly Banned.

Clan Wars
A Clan War is when one Clan challenges another Clan to battle.

- Only the Clan Leader can challenge another Clan to War, and only that Leader can accept/deny.
- At least 5 members from each team participate. There's no max but it needs to be an odd number.
- No illegal hacks. Period. Using illegal hacks will disqualify the battler.
- A Clan can only be in 1 Clan War at a time.
- If a Clan drops out of War, and has 3 or more losses, then the other Clan officially wins.
- The Clan War Index (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70868) is updated with all the latest info.

Official War Rules:

6 vs 6 Lv. 100
No Hacks
No Ubers (Click (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68728))
Sleep Clause (You can only put 1 Pokemon to SLEEP at a time.)
Evasion Clause (No Double team and Minimize.)
Species Clause (No same Pokemon in your party. ex: 2 Raichus)
OHKO Clause (No OHKO moves. ex: Fissure)

Other rules or clauses can be added on, but only if the two leaders agree to it.

Rules are still being updated as necessary. Contact lil_leprachaun33 (Jack) about anything.
