Obviously it depends on the Pokemon. It's bad for a physical attacker, but it's good for a special attacker.

Charizard's Attack and Special Attack are almost evem so it depends on what moves you want it to learn. If you want it to learn just Special moves rather than Physical, Modest is the way to go. If you want it to learn just Physical and not Special, try Adamant (-Sp. Attack +Attack).

If you want your Charizard to learn a mix between Physical and Special, you coul try another Nature that wouldn't lower Special Attack nor Attack.

Actually, Charizard's special attack is considerably stronger than its attack...but that's easy to forget, since it has such a great physical movepool and such a crappy special one.
