I don't get it... it's too fast. >.<

it won't even stay still for me to false swipe it with my Scizor or use my Spinarak's spider web attack... How in the world do you catch it?

Umbreon. Mean Look + Baton Pass.
Umbreon is fast enough to attack without Mesprit fleeing?
What level?

Oh, maybe it isn't fast enough. Maybe a 40-50ish one might outspeed it if it's Jolly with 252 EVs in speed with high speed IVs. But I don't think that's worth it. Although, a level 80-100 neutral one would probably outspeed it as well. I'll do some math right now... *goes to find a stat calc*

I don't think it's right that I can't even hit it with my level 61 Spinarak. :(

I think if I can just get it with mean look or spider web, then switch to scizor I can false swipe it down then catch it.
I'll take my Crobat off of my Sapphire tomorrow, it's level 60 something and knows Mean look.

If you don't have any pokemon that can make Mespirit stay in place, you can lower its HP down in that turn. Chase it around and face it again. Injure it more but don't faint it then chase it again. When Mespirit's HP is low enough to catch it, when you face it, throw the ball of your choice.

Of course, if you have Mean Look or something else, it's much faster and easier to use than my method. I caught Mespirit with my method in a Dusk Ball 'cause I made my Mismagius forget Mean Look.

crobat is extremly fast.. best way though is a wobbufet.. it can stop the pokemon from fleeing without using a move. use wobbufett, switch the pokemon and u have 2-3 turns to catch it

Okay, I'll use Zapdos or someone to hit it, but not kill it... thanks.

Use something with a base stat of 50 Speed or higher, that is level 51 or Higher.

Mesprit is so annoying! I think Azelf is the best of them, he can learn tons of moves and I think he has the best base stats out of them, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Master Ball. Na jk. Save it for something else.

Use a high level Pokemon with mean look but also has to be faster than Mespirit. I'm not sure what happens if you switch the Pokemon that used Mean Look out..

Eh, suppose, Have yuou heard of a "cheat"? Hold down A when the Pokeball reaches the Pokemon's head and keep it held down and it increases the catch rate. I don't know how true it is and I didn't make it up. I found it on www.gamefaqs.com

A level 70 Jolly Sableye (252 Evs in Speed, 128 EVs in both Attack/Sp. Attack) w/ Mean Look and False Swipe should do it.

I know Crobat and Gengar work as well.

That doesn't work-.- All those little "help catch pokemon "cheats" by pressing/saying something" never have or will work.

omg if you have the marking map on your poketch then bring it up after a few steps it will show it. if you have already seen cresselia, they will both show up.

and anyway, i can see for the pokedex, but i personally think that uxie, azelf, and mesprit arnet all that good.

For Mesprit I just ran around with a lv.40 Wobbufett and kept it from running that way. For Cresselia I just Master Ball'ed it.

Oh my God...
This topic is still up?

I caught Mesprit and Cressila like, last week.
I used my Crobat and Zapdos to show them who was boss... but they still wouldn't stay in their balls...
So I got a few extra Masterballs off some people and just used that.

Thanks for everyone's help, but you can close this topic.
Thanks again,

Umbreon isn't fast enough to use Mean Look on the first turn to stop Mespirit from fleeing, but Golbat is (if not, use some Carbos). This is another Pokemon that learns Mean Look.

and if you;re trying to get a mesprit try to get it to the lowest yellow as possible because yellow is better than red because when you get a pokemon to red it turns the pokemon into overdrive mode so it makes it harder to catch. If you do this will surely get a mersprit!

Yes. I'm still looking for Mesprit. I've ran from Sunyshore to Canalave, then Eterna, then Pal Park. I'm puffed out.

You could weaken it with False Swipe everytime you see it, and when it gets to around 1 hp, switch to Wobbufett and catch it

iwell then you wil hate crosselia.anyway you should have a quick trapinch or golbat with mean look.then whittle its health down and parylyze(dont poison or burn)in fact wait at two routes next to each other and keep walking to the one next to you until it is in your place(note that it may also be on water)

That's why I have a Master Ball for pesky Pokemon like that.

You need:
Pokemon with Mean Look
Block
And yes, the Spider Web attack

But also, your team needs speed to get that move off. I went through same thing with latios/latias, the team needs speed to get the move off or it won't stay.

But personally to save aggrevation, get a Master Ball. Then, try and talk to some friends into trading you a Pokemon HOLDING Master Ball so you build up a small collection of say 3 Master Balls. I got to import one for myself.

I tried catching Mesprit in my cousin's Pearl (I caught mine with my Master Ball) and it was HARD. The good side was I could turn the volume up and listen to the battle music but even my cousin's Mismagius (I can't remember the level, though) couldn't keep up with it.

A wild MESPRIT appeared!
Go, Mismagius!
*presses FIGHT and Mean Look*
The wild MESPRIT fled!

Aww, the good ol' days. *sarcasm*

I could've used one if my cousin had one. They don't seem to find Wobbufet useful when it comes to catching runaway Pokemon like the three dogs, Latias/Latios, Mesprit and Cresselia.

Latis- Mirror Coat
Cressila- Counter
Mespirit- Mirror Coat
Three Dogs- Master Ball xD

Allways caught em on the first try (not first ball first time seeing them xD)
