If one parent is a Shiney pokemon and is breeding with a Ditto, are the chances of getting a shiney egg higher or normal compared to just breeding anything else with a ditto? (I'm breeding a Male Shiney with the Ditto, non shiney)
Also, if they do get along (which the day-care man said they do), about how long will it take for them to make an egg?
and, my last question: If i were breeding two different Pokemon, one of them NOT a Ditto, does the baby look like the male or female parent?
If you can help me with any of these, thank you!

not sure about 1st question.. never had a shiny... never tried
usually i get it in 100-200 steps....
and for the third it always looks like female unless ditto is used

shininess of breeding pokemon has no impact on outcome of offspring, same odds as usual 1/8192
as for second question: i believe that its like this.
there are 3 stages of breeding, that result in an egg being there
they really like each other: chances of egg appearing is once every 60 steps or so and has a 72.5% chance of an egg being there.
they like each other: chances of egg appearing is once every 90 steps or so and has a 45.75% chance of an egg being there.
they don't like each other: chances of egg appearing is once every 150 steps or so and has a 25.275% chance of an egg being there.
as for the third question: the offspring of two breeding pokemon will always be the female form, so if breeding male zigzagoon and female poochyena, offspring is poochyena

Ok, that helps much so, thank you.
one more question, what if two shineys breed? what the chance of a shiney then?

No, unless the Ditto was Shiny. Then, chances would become dramatic, 1/25.
Hope I helped.

odds remain the same no matter what you are breeding, unless AR is used

What the hell, that is NOT a lie, I have heard that like a million times.
...But it was for R/S/E and FR/LG but I'm pretty sure it applies to D/P, too...

no that was only for G/S/C
it was done using a shiny ditto as it would pass down 3 IV's
and that only worked because all shinies in G/S/C had the exact same IV's, so by breeding a shiny ditto, your chances of getting a shiny decreased to 1/64
it was never in the 3rd gen or later games, as since then the IV's for any shiny are not the same, they are random

the chances might be a tiny bit higher.

No, they're not higher at all.
kirkeastment has summed this up pretty well, so question answered.
