I know there's already a topic on Potter, but this needs its own topic, as it's news. This is something people need to be aware of.

I just saw this on another site, and felt I should warn you. Apparently, several details on the seventh book (Deathly Hallows) may have been leaked that could massively spoil the series for people that haven't read any of the books. I don't know the details surrounding these spoilers, but someone labeled it as, 'ruining it for us'. I wouldn't post details like that anyway, because I know better.

Supposedly some of these have already been posted on boards by new members and people that just plain won't use Spoiler tags. Be careful of any new Harry Potter topics that crop up between now and the seventh book's release date.

I'm going around and warning people of this, as the topic names may not be all that obvious. I do not post this lightly. Even if that topic turns out to be a hoax, if there is even the SLIGHTEST, most REMOTE chance that it is true, people need to be very cautious of which topics they click on.

Examples of possible topics:

Harry Potter Book 7
Harry Potter Deathly Hallows
New Information About The New Potter Book
Wait 'till you read this!
Inside Information About Harry Potter

If you have even the slightest suspicion that any topics such as these might contain leaked information, whatever you do, DON'T click on them. Avoid them like the plague. That is all.

If you mouse over the topic title, it'll show you the first few sentences of the post. Just a friendly tip, because the purpose of the topic will more than likely be exposed in the beginning of the post.

Oh, and I've already read the spoilers ;)

Still, you're an experienced forum user Mr rust. If this saves a few eager HP fans from disappointment, then it's definitely served its purpose.

Thank you!

Eh, don't really care, but I want to know, I don't read the books.

The problem is when it gets into the hands of a newer forum-goer who might just post a one-liner stating the spoiler. This has been known to happen on many a site.

And of course, there is the dreaded

---- kills ----

and

---- dies

type of topics (where the spoiler is right in the title, we got some of these with Book 6). These always look spammish, but they could be true. One of these has already appeared on serebii, of all places. And right in the Pokemon Anime forum. So be very careful, no matter WHERE you are.

Also, certain TV shows may end up spoiling the book too (particularly, talk shows).

So just be careful what you read and see until you get the book.
