I believe Blaziken is the best fire type in R/S.

But you wouldn't go around looking around for a fire type if you HAD Blaziken, would you?

So I suggest Ninetales for those who DIDN'T choose Torchic for their starter.

Camerupt > Ninetales in RSE.

Oh well.

Camerupt just doesn't have decent speed, that's all.

But Camerupt has good base stats, mind you.

Then take Vulpix. It learns Flamethrower quite early; somewhere between 30-40

Isn't that a ground type?

it learns fire blast and i think flamethrower and its ability will power them up and it learns solar beam so no need to take in sunlight

Touch conveniently did not answer your question.

Yes, it's a ground type.

Syurba was looking for a *fire Pokémon*.
He also said he needs one with a fire attack.

I believe you can only get Growlithe in RSE from trade or hacks.

totally agree with waltz, the best choice, if u didn't pick torchic, is ninetales, I know camerupt has better stats, but it's x4 weak agains water, and it's too slow for my taste

I would go with Camerupt. I have a level 50 and he's amazing. He learns flamethrower and eruption naturally so your fine with fire type moves.

If this fire type will only be used for in-game battles then he doesn't have to worry about water types. He can just switch out.

Edit: Didn't see last post. Guess he picked Ninetails.

I might choose Blaziken since it can learn fighting type moves.

Like i said before.. Groudon is a ground type.
Anyway.. What pokemon should I pick as a flying pokemon?
Either Dodrio or Altaria? Which one has better attacks??

Well, to me Altaria looks like it has better Attacks and more even out stats...Dodrio has a bit higher Speed and attack but, most of the attacks it will learn are under the power of 50...I see only about 4 of them for Dodrio but Altaria on the other hand has about 5, plus it's half Dragon...Dragon is good:hungry:

I say go with Altaria!

Personally I'd go with Aerodactyl, who has the speed+attack thing down. Altaria isnt that great offensivly, more wallish, but theres better walls imo. Not sure if your looking for an in game team or comp team.

But yeah, the best flying last gen were probably Aerodactyl, Zapdos, Gyarados and Skarmory.

Thats of course ignoring the >600 BST pokemon. I dont think Salamence and Dragonite have to be mentioned, and the other legendary birds are inferior to those above because of their move pool tbh.

If your definatly going with one of those two, its entirely up on what you plan on doing with them. But if its in game, what you use really dosnt matter; its just down to prefrence then as anything works in game tbh.

Swellow has good speed, try and get Blaziken somehow coz he can learn fire and flying attacks.

Weren't the choices Dodrio or Altaria?:silenced:

I'm guessing the reason is because, they are your two favorites?

Maybe Dodrio and Altaria are the only choices he knows with decent stats...

outta the 2, i'd chose altaria coz it's part dragon, although Ice is ultra effective, Ninetails will take it out.

Okay i'll choose Altaria xP

dodrio is better IMO

Yeah, I guess so, too.

It's really nice to have STABbed normal attacks.

I mean, he wants to beat the E4.

I believe higher-level-than-the-opponent Pokémon do better wonders being the offensive type.

Dodrio can learn drill peck, the best (In my opinion) flying move out there. I'm amazed it can learn fly, so you can keep it with you at all times. Altaria can learn fly as well, but it's weakness is ice. But, you're probably not going to use it to fight ice types. But Dodrio is half normal, and you're probably going to use him to fight fighting, making their moves do regular damage. It comes down to which is your favorite? Personally, I'd choose dodrio, it learns drill peck. Plus, altaria is Wally's pokemon...it's not nice to steal...
