Can you help me, I've done a New Game on Emerald and I don't know what starter to choose. Which one would you reccommend?

you should be mudkip because it evolves into a water/ground pokemon so then electric moves wont harm it

touch's right, swampert is stronger and inmune to electric attacks, but u should keep in mind that in emerald u won't see any good fire type pokemon until u unlock the safari zone, witch u do AFTER beatting the E4, also that there are many good water type pokemon like ludicolo, milotic, walrein, gorebyss and starmie. and that sceptile it's a fast grass type, with a LARGE movepool.
so, IMO pick it ramdonly since no1 will dissapoint u

PS: Plz don't create "help me", "what do i do", "what do u think", "where is it" threads, it's annoying, be more specific in the title like: "I need help WITH STARTERS", "what do i do AFTER BEATING THE E4", "what do u think OF MY TEAM", "where is FEEBAS"

Trust me,Mudkip is best.You can teach him Ice Beam to get rid of Lance's team,a good fighting type move for Glacia.He can pretty much take out the Elite 4 by himself[sorta]

Dude, there is no lance in emerald!
I would actually put in a point towards treeko, because he is useful in the early stages, such as with the first gym, but the last gym, and the E4 Champion are both water type trainers, and near the end, while it is possible to get a guy that is useful against them in the game, having it in your team from the start makes it a whole lot easier.

Something funny or crazy I just wanted to add to the thread, I am on my third restart so that I can have all three, but if I was you I would also go with the others and say mudkip also.

Treecko --> Speed and good with champion.

Torchic --> Horrible with Champion.

Mudkip --> Can learn Ice Beam and in its final evolution's only weakness is grass so.. bye bye grass.

My Fav ------> Mudkip.

I choose Blaziken, and I thought it was pretty good. With the fighting type moves, he gets rid of Glacia's team, which is useful when he's fire type.

I chose Mudkip when I first started the game. However, Treecko and Torchic are also very helpful.

I think Mudkip. I didn't pick Torchic for some reasons:

*Champion
*Mudkip is water/ ground two weakness of fire
*The water pokemon aren't that great in wild to me.
*Ice moves are not teachable to fire or grass

Any one of the 3 is fine, though personally i always choose the fire starter for looks. Also, like another poster said, no good fires 'till the E4 are finished.

Torchic, since Blaziken is cool and strong but with Mudkip The elite Four might be a little harder.
