Amphy is my favorite pokemon ever since the lighthouse incident in Crystal. They're just so cool-looking, kinda catlike, even if they descended from sheep  When i heard Mareep was catchable after the E4, I was overjoyed.

How does it stack with other pokemon in its type, such as Manectric or Raichu? I looked up some stats of those 3 and, aside from speed, which was horrible, Amphy excelled. Has anyone used one enough to give a thumbs up or down to it? if up, got any movesets you'd like to share? I lost my Crystal version a while ago, and those were my days of "Lets give Typhlosion all fire moves!"

Thanks in advance!

Thanks :) I just caught a Mareep, so I'm gonna get his butt moving now.

Still, has anyone got a good tip for using him, or a moveset? I could use it.

I had a level 75 Ampharos in my old Silver version. It was really good!!

I haven't tried him/her in the newer games but I've done research since I want one too. I'm lookin' at something like....

Ampharos
Thunderbolt
Thunderwave
Reflect
Hidden Power Ice

Thanks for the great sets! I'll take them into consideration. It's unfortunate that its bank of abilities is so limited. Whoa, thunderbolt/wave figured prominently!

Too bad I have no idea how to manipulate EVs to get a certain hidden power. The ice would be really useful. By the way, on that subject, once your 'mon gains levels, won't the type of it change? :eh:

No, Hidden Power won't change. Hidden Power is determined by IV's.

I love Ampharos, too. But I hate to say it... He's kinda suck-ish when it comes to other Pokemon that could take his place. He's very slow for an Electric Type, has mediocre/poorr stats, and not a great movepool.

I still love him, though! XD

For whatever reason im just drawn to him. its almost as if his power is not done justice by his stats (I know that isnt possible its just my bias towards Ampharos).

Soon as i got silver again i wanted to go straight to it lol
