Training for HP ice

Ok, I hate EV training. I've looked everywhere, read every FAQ, guide, and comment on the subject, and the process still eludes me. I concede defeat, and ask for help.

I've been training to get HP ice on a Mareep, soon to be an Ampharos. Here are her stats, I just hatched her:

Timid Nature (wanted a bit more speed out of it, and I have a box full of sheep to release now)
22 HP
8 Atk.
9 Def.
12 Sp. Atk.
10 Sp. Def.
9 Speed

Growl
Hidden power (no idea what type)
Light Screen
Thunder

If you need to know anything else, just ask.

How can you "train" for HP Ice?

I mean do you hatch many eggs and get the one with HP Ice?

Or did you spend your time hatching one with Timid nature?

It's just that you can't change the Hidden Power your Mareep has.

Yeah, you can't train for a scecific Hidden Power, check out a Keckeleon or use psypokes hidden move calculator to know.

To know the Hidden Power of you Mareep: Enter it's stats and nature here. (http://www.serebii.net/games/iv-calcdp.shtml)
Then press calculate hidden power.

ah, thanks for the responses. How is it possible to get the specific type on it, then? I see it on just about every moveset for the pokemon. Is it totally random which one you recieve?

It's *almost* totally random.

Hidden Powers are based on the IV's of your Pokémon; and IV's are totally random...

...unless you try and go BREED.

I'm not an expert in breeding, but you can go look for some guide out there that's gonna help you. Sorry.

oh well... hidden power is a headache, since like everyone else said, it's completly random, depends of IV AND IT'S POWER IT'S RANDOM TOO, so u may get hp ice, but it's power may be from 30 (worst than tackle) to 70 (over 60 is always good)
