Canon i860 printer help

I need help with my new canon i860 printer.It seems that the ink level detection is very off because I just opened the cover of the printer and I just saw that the black is almost gone and the moniter says that it is still full.Is anyone else having this problem?

Yea the detection stuff on the computer might not be very good, or not working properly at all. My printer is suppose to tell me when my ink cartridge is suppose to be replaced, but it never does and I just need to notice it myself. If the stuff you print out starts to look like faded ink, you should check the ink and it's probably almost out and you need to replace it.
