Welcome to my Pokemon Chain Guide. If somebody has a chain guide out already, I apologize. Anywho, let's get on with the guide!

YOU WILL NEED:

A PokeRdar
A nice good patch of grass
Pokeballs (Luxury balls if you want it to love you instantly, and superpower the Return attack)
Cleanse Tag (To shoo away most party-crashers, more about them later!)
A lot of patience
The ability to prevent yourself from screaming a curse word when a Party Crasher snips a rare pokemon chain.

HOW TO DO IT:
First, give your Lead pokemon, one with an ability or move that stops enemies from escaping if you want, A Cleanse Tag. This lessens the chances of a Party Crasher.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PARTY CRASHERS
Party Crashers are my name for those pokemon who like nothing more than breaking your chain. Don't you hate those? I do. Use a Cleanse tag to repel most of the little buggers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once you gave the Cleanse Tag to your lead (in this case, my
Roserade) hop into a good patch of grass and set off the PokeRadar. When the grass patches start shaking and cheesy music starts playing, get to the nearest spot as quickly as possible, careful to avoid the ones with sparks or leaves shooting up from them. Those usually break a chain. Once you're in a battle, identify the pokemon you will chain. Let's pretend i'm gonna chain a Furret. Once the battle starts, defeat the chain pokemon. If the cheesy music is still playing when you get back in the field, great! There are more shaky patches. See them? Walk into those too. This creates a 'chain'. Remember, avoid the ones with leaves or sparks shooting out of them - unless they're shooting out like heck and the patch is glowing. That means it's where a shiny is hiding!

Aren't Repels better than using a Cleanse Tag Pokemon? 0:
I know they cost a lot, but you can fight the Gentlemen and Socialite near the Trophy Garden. If you have an Amulet Coin attached you can get double the gain and you should get about 10k+ each.

I like to use both. They also help when you reset. Try not using one of them. When you reset, you may find a Pokemon where the grass DID NOT shake, even if you previously walked there on your reset. This will ALWAYS break your chain, even if it was the Pokemon you were chaining.

I learned this...the hard way.

The closest patch? Does this work? Have you caught any Shinies by Chaining this way?

Wait, I'm confused.

1. You said you use both, but you try not to use one of them. Huh?
2. If you used a repel then you shouldn't find a pokemon where grass didn't shake.
3. If you walked over it with a repel and no pokemon appeared, then no pokemon
should appear there if you still have the repel on, and if your still resetting. :eh:

I'm not understanding this at all. :oops:

No, I haven't but I have seen three legit shiny Zubats, one after another, in FR. And I didn't catch them because I had no idea what shinies were back in the day. :oops:

Wait, I'm confused.

1. You said you use both, but you try not to use one of them. Huh? I meant to try without it and notice the difference.
2. If you used a repel then you shouldn't find a pokemon where grass didn't shake. That's the point.
3. If you walked over it with a repel and no pokemon appeared, then no pokemon
should appear there if you still have the repel on, and if your still resetting. :eh: Um... If the grass doesn't shake and you aren't using a Repel, you have a good chance of finding a Pokemon there. That's why you use Repels.

I'm not understanding this at all. :oops:

Look in the quote.

Right now, I'm starting simple by trying to chain Starly. I kind of always wanted a shiny Staraptor.

EDIT: Now, chaining Bibarel. Amazing how things bend. @_@
