View Full Version : The Pokemon Music Mayhem Game

Ok, to be honest, I don't know how many people will care about this little game, but hey that's their choice.

The game's simple. In the Pokemon games each piece of music is split into seperate "Tracks" which are played in-sync (Together at the same time) to make the music sound as it sounds. What I do is mute a certain number of the tracks within a piece of music and you have to guess what it is.

Ranks
Each piece of music has a rank depending on how many tracks are muted. This is much like a difficulty level. If after some time you still fail to guess the music track, then I'll un-mute a track or two and repost. Ranks for music are as follows, showing percentage of tracks not muted:

10% - Level 1
20% - Level 2
30% - Level 3
40% - Level 4
50% - Level 5

So, Level 5 music has a maximum of 50% of its original music still within it. Level 1 music has only 10%, meaning at most, 1 track for that particular file. Considering some of the music, a Level 1 MIDI is extremely tough.

Games
All 4 Advance games, Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, and LeafGreen are elegible. You never know which the music comes from which makes this game more difficult. If not knowing the game proves too difficult altogether then I'll add this with posts.

Scores
Whenever someone guesses the music (It's location within which game) they get a point. Doesn't come simpler. When I post the scores and a new MIDI, I'll post the complete MIDI for the previous file.

Zenaku

Sure Lan.

And nope, both are wrong. From now on I'll post a clue for every 2 times its gotten wrong.

Clue #1:
It's a tune in RS

Hint: To know all the different "layers" of the song, play with headphones on at Max Volume or on a DS with max volume, you'll hear all the "layers".

Uh... I'll guess:

Pokémon Contest?

Nope, afraid not. One more wrong answer and I'll give a second clue.

Sounds kind of sea-ish,I'l say the abandon wrecked ship place.

Zenaku

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. That makes a total of 6 wrong answers, so that means two clues...

Clue #2:
It is not a route

Clue#3:
It's accessible only later in the game.

Hmm... Battle Tower?

Zenaku
01-19-2005, 10:46 PM
Hmm... Battle Tower?
Correct. The MIDI was the Battle Tower (http://www.angeltowns.com/members/darkabsol/BattleTower.mid).

Lan_Scyther: 1

MIDI 02: Level 5
http://www.angeltowns.com/members/darkabsol/pm02.mid

Remember, Level 5s are the easiest if you listen closely to the main tune... Since the tracks all overlap each other, some parts of a track are very noticable to the main tune, whereas other times the same track is merely a slight background accompaniment.

Err... darn! It's a City/Town, just I dunno which one.
(It's is Ruby/Sapphire...)

Professor Birch's laboratory?
Correct.

Uh... I'll post the complete Birch's Lab tune with a new MIDI later, as I need to get ready for school.

How was your sleep? I was about to ask you what you were still doing up... but than I realized there is like a huge time difference between us... XD lol.

I'll have to start doing this.... a bit complicated and difficult, but I'm sure I can get it... lol.

Zenaku
01-20-2005, 03:51 PM
lol These should be the easy ones, Matthew. Just wait until I post a Level 1 MIDI... :P

As I said, the correct answer was Birch's Lab (http://www.angeltowns.com/members/darkabsol/BirchsLab.mid).

Lan_Scyther: 1
Sybersaur: 1

MIDI 3: Level 5

Neo Emolga

Rustboro City.

Yeah, it was a bit easy.

.:VS:.

Rustboro City.

Yeah, it was a bit easy.

That's what I think too.

Zenaku

Rustboro City.

Yeah, it was a bit easy.
Correct. Rustboro (http://www.angeltowns.com/members/darkabsol/Rustboro.mid)

Lan_Scyther: 1
Sybersaur: 1
Neo Pikachu: 1

This next one should be classed as Level 1. Why? Well, the original MIDI has 9 tracks, and this next one is a single track of the nine. Of course, it's Level 2 because it's pretty simple to guess, if you listen closely to the whole thing.

MIDI 4: Level 2
http://www.angeltowns.com/members/darkabsol/pm04.mid

.AzureLight
01-20-2005, 09:34 PM
Dude... simple...

Intro Song...

Zenaku
01-20-2005, 09:43 PM
Correct. The Title Screen (http://www.angeltowns.com/members/darkabsol/TitleScreen.mid).

Lan_Scyther: 2
Sybersaur: 1
Neo Pikachu: 1

The next one is still a Level 2, with 2 out of 8 tracks, but it should be harder than the last one.

MIDI 5: - Level 2

I have a quistion,is this tune from FR/LG?
I can't say unless I give it as a hint, and there's only been 1 wrong guess for this MIDI.

01-22-2005, 11:00 AM
Secret Rocket Base (Game Corner)?

Zenaku
01-22-2005, 11:03 AM

.:VS:.

Zenaku
01-22-2005, 11:07 AM

01-22-2005, 11:09 AM
..........Viridian Forest? This HAS to be it!

Zenaku
01-22-2005, 11:10 AM
Wrong also.

Clue #3:
It's a route.

I'm sure anyone can get this now.

.:VS:.
01-22-2005, 11:17 AM
