u can steal those items from high level trainers, who train that type of pokemon, for example: u can steal silver powder from bugmaniac's pokemons over lvl 35 or 40

Spell Tag ~ Wild Shuppet, Banette, and Duskull.
Black Belt ~ Black Belt Nob's Lv33 Machamp (Route 115).
Silverpowder ~ Bug Maniac Brandon's Lv38 Masquerain (Route 121).
Dragon Fang? ~ Dragon Tamer ______'s Lv49?? Shelgon (Meteor Falls).

Sorry. Gold fang is in PMD.
But Nikolas (the dragon tamer) and Nob haven't asked for a rematch for quite a long time.
Can you steal these items as many times as you wish?

And another question now. Does Macho brace give you twice the evs you would actually get? I am training a skarmory with macho brace and instead of 36 evs in sp. def., I think it gets 18 after a battle with 6 Dustoxs, because its sp.def. is only 2 points higher than its speed and the base stats of sp. def. and speed are the same.

Yes, Macho Brace doubles the EVs you get.

Every 4 EVs give you an additional stat point at level 100.

You mean that the stats will change when my pokemon is at level 100? That is crazy. I am training for level 50 battle tower.

No, it's just that at level 100 does the 4 EV points become 1 stat point.

at lower levels, the conversion of EV points to stat points is different; but you still get extra stat points for EV points.

Does anyone know how it goes for lower levels?

I'm not positive, but I think it's always 4 EV Points = 1 stat point, regardless of level.

That is what I think too, but according to waltzh... What can I say.

EderFranco

waltz is right, for example: if u catch a mewtwo (at lvl 70) and train it's SpAtk, using pokerus + macho brace and max it before gaining a level, once mewtwo get to lvl 71 it will raise +50 in SpAtk!!!... why? cause at lvl 71 the max amount of EV bonus a pokemon can get in a stat is 47, and the other 3 points are because of mewtwo's high SpAtk. but from now on, every lvl mewtwo gains, it will raise it's SpAtk in 4 or 5, no matter how it gets that lvl (rare candy, exp share)
I hope it helped

I didn't get that. I am training pokemon at lv 5 from eggs. Does this mean that these pokemon will get less extra stat points on their first level but they will get the same amount as any other pokemon in the end (this is what you say I think), or that generally they will get less extra stat point than a pokemon caught at a higher level (this is what I understood from waltzh)?

sorry if I didn't explained it clearly, cause' my english's not THAT good, but I'll try again with an example

Charizard lvl 50
IVs: 31 everything
Modest Nature
EVs: 0
HP: 153
Atk: 93
Def: 98
SpAtk: 141
SpDef: 105
Spd: 120

Charizard lvl 50
IVs: 31 everything
Modest Nature
EVs: 252 Sp.Atk, 252 Spd
HP: 153
Atk: 93
Def: 98
SpAtk: 173 (141 + 32)
SpDef: 105
Spd: 152 (120 + 32)

Charizard lvl 100
IVs: 31 everything
Modest Nature
EVs: 0
HP: 297
Atk: 183
Def: 192
SpAtk: 279
SpDef: 206
Spd: 236

Charizard lvl 100
IVs: 31 everything
Modest Nature
EVs: 252 Sp.Atk, 252 Spd
HP: 297
Atk: 183
Def: 192
SpAtk: 342 (279 + 63)
SpDef: 206
Spd: 299 (236 + 63)

that doesn't mean that the EV trained charizard is mediocre at lvl 50, and good at lvl 100, what it means is that the max EV bonus points a pokemon can get at lvl 50 is 32, but once that pokemon reaches lvl 100 (no matter how it lvls up) it will show its max stats
I hope this explanation is more clear than other one xD

It's okay. I make mistakes too.
So what you mean is that for every level there is a limit for the maximum extra stat points. But if I have already got the evs, although the level won't allow them to turn into stat points, when I keep leveling up will they turn, 4 by 4, into stat points or will they disappear?

Okay, if you EV train, do you just have to knock out the pokemon to get the EV's or do you have to knock them out and then grow a level to get your EV's? :eh:

Brainiac

just knocking them out is sufficient to gain ev's.

the only time that that is not true is if your pokemon is level 100. it needs to be able to grow at least one level to increase its stats because of ev training, if it cannot gain a level, it cannot get higher stats.
