There are a lot of people out there who have found ways to get shinies by soft resetting but a lot of people (like me) have found this out after catching almost every legendary!!And i can guess that you are really annoyed as you have got a lot of shinies well heres ure chance for another opportunity.
Step 1. Make sure that your DS calender is on Friday
Step2. Head to the valley windworks.
Step 3. There should be a pokemon outside the building if not go back to step 1.
Step 4. Go face to face with the pokemon and save your game.
Step 5.Press a to enter the battle with the drifloon if its shiny then catch it if not then turn off your ds and enter the battle again until it becomes shiny. This may take a long time.
And finally I have looked through a lot of trade thread shiny lists and not many people offer shiny drifloons or shiny drifblims so it gives the implication that whoever succeds in this method 1st may be the 1st to do it in pe2k.:happy::happy:

I dunno if you know this, but this works with almost all legendaries and other pokemon who remain on one place, I mean saving in front of them and always resetting...

hmmm, I know you have to reset your DS every time, but can't you use the soft reset (L+R+A+B)? or does that not work? cause I think it'd be a bit faster if you didn't have to turn your DS off every time.

this could take years to do. its all about luck. if you never hit the 1 in 1,892 chance of getting a shiny...well you know.

I'd love it if Nintendo made it the second one. XD
I know they won't be as rare, but most shinies I like the color of.

To warn you, I sat for hours and hours without
a shiny Drifloon, so you'll need even
more patience than waiting for Friday to come..

This is a method most Shiny hunters know already. XP
It still is helpful though, but I feel it should be more general.
Anyways, soft-resetting/saving and turning off for a Shiny could take days, months, or years. I know as I have been soft-resetting for a Shiny Eevee since last year. (yeesh, you'd think I'd get it eventually)
It really requires a lot of patience and time.
It'd be better off if you were multi-tasking as well as it can get uber boring sometimes. >.>
Of course, you probably all know this, but meh.
Just saying. XP

Does this also work for the Pokemon that can only be caught on trees?

As previously mentioned, this tip has been around for years.
I was doing this in Pokémon Gold xD
Still never got that Shiny Ho-Oh, Ack.
But i'm very surprised at the shiny changes in Diamond / Pearl.
1 / 8192?
That's ridiculously low (okay you may think it's insanely high) But the shiny chances in 3rd Gen games was over 1 / 300 000 I believe...
But hey, I found a shiny Bidoof, so who cares :]]
I'm not really one for shinies, but I do love getting a legitimate one.
I got a Shiny Golbat on Pokémon Sapphire, that was a good feeling ^_^
But resetting to catch something gets very tiring and boring... I don't think it's worth it.
But I dunno, you may disagree :)
I don't even really like Drifloon xD but anyway.
Rambling.

In the 3rd Gen it's still 1/8192. In GSC (2nd gen) I think it's easier, it has something to do with getting low DVs.
it's friday, i have noting to do for 10 hours, time to get me a shiny drifloon i think
