Nicknames, on PBR Wi-Fi?

I was doing random battle, and some guy had a Pokesav'd shiny Gyarados, because its name was "GYARADOS " (In Pokesav, Pokemon names come with extra spaces at the end for some reason.) However, my Pokemon's nicknames were reverted back to their real names, while the Gyarados name wasn't. How is this possible?

im thinking cause pokesav is a hacking device.the pokemon made by it may cause glitches

Are you allowed to have japanese names? cause someone had 2 of them and i didnt know who i was attacking >.<

The game puts the names back to the normal ones or they should be, well it does that just incase it's a bad name or anything idk
