Ok I just heard about this and I started a trainer and everything. But I don't get the pokemon creation thing. I mean I'm on lvl 100 and I'm getting my but kicked. Is there anything I have to do. I don't get it

cause, if it is, this is how it breaks down.

1. select the pokemon you want.
2.select the item you want.
3.MAKE A GOOD MOVE SET! There are lots of websites with good move sets on them, but when you get a good inspiration, GO FOR IT! Thats what hapened to me.
4. set the evs. Doing this will give your pokemon an edge. BY setting up Speacil attack, it gets a higher Speacil Attack stat. The sam eworks for all of the stats.

And player killer, ever heard of the edit button? >_>

Anyways, if you mean NB, then yeah do basicly what Player Killer said. =\ A lot of websites have good movesets. I prefer to come up with a few of my own personally, or at least twist some around to better fit my liking and still be able to win. =P
