This is about 3rd gen games only. So if the Special and Physical attacks haven't switched then what is the point of having a spc. atk and a Phy. atk.?
So Say you have a pokemon with 200 in both phy and spc atk and it does return and hits for 102, well if it has 200 phy but 100 spc atk does it hit for less or the same, and if it has 100 phy and 200 spc atk does it hit for less or equal?
or are only types affected by spc or phy atk? if so than which are foor which?
Thx in advance,

Fire, water, grass, ice, electric, dragon, psychic, and dark attacks ONLY use special attack. If the opponent uses growl, or even swagger, the power of those attacks aren't effected. Moves like growth and calm mind do help special attack, but not attack (the physical attacks). The physical attack (or just attack) types are ground, rock, steel, flying, fighting, normal, ghost, bug, and poison. They AREN'T effected by calm mind and flatter (like a special swagger), or growth. However, bulk up, swords dance, intimidate ability, and swagger all effect attack. Not special attack. Hope that answered your question.
