That's right guys, BEST of the best. Post your top 5 nominations for the best character in anime. I guess the nominations will happen for 2 weeks starting this week.

The top 32 nominees (one that got the most nominations basically. Ties will be broken with spurratic votings in the prelims.) get the boot into the brackets. Remember that ANY Japanese anime works (okay aside from hentai). It does not matter whether it's from 1970 (Mobile Suit: Gundam) or something completely new (My Hime).

We will randomly send the top 32 nominees to different brackets and seed them.

If by the chance that we dont' reach 32 nominees, we will throw in who we think deserves the positions. Now have fun nominating. :)

Goku (Dragon Ball) - One of the most caring and the funniest anime characters of all-time. Very light-hearted, he's the picture perfect definitition of light-hearted for me.
Laputa Robot (Castle in the Sky) - In partcular, the robot that was "resurrected" and the lone robot at Laputa itself.
Psyduck (Pokemon) - One funny duck.
Tsukasa (.hack//sign) - Just a great character, made the anime work.
Vash (Trigun) - Reminds me of Goku, can be serious when he needs to and light -hearted.

Okay guys. Voting's over. I'm gonna tally up the votes and stuff to see who's in and who's outta there.

Also, in terms of anime equality, the skirmish votings will be characters from the same series (i.e. I wanted diversity in the representation of animes, though you may still see some with 2 characters entered.). Well....putting things into context and seeding shouldn't take too long, probably a week or two, so stay tuned. :)
