Ash Vs Gary No spoilers please!!

So I just finished seeing the first season of pokemon, I am more of a pokemon game fan than of the "anime" (cartoon actually). So I was wondering if anyone can tell me here, when do Gary and Ash first fight in the series? Cause in the game they go at it, every time they can.

I think the series are kind of weak in that sense, there aren't any battles. Ash wins most badges on luck, good will, or because of team rocket, I wouldn't know what would ash do without team rocket always helping him out.

Team Rocket hardly helps them. The only time they do is if Team Rocket isnt the Thiefs of the Show or in a Movie sometimes.
The first time I believe Ash and Gary faught was....I forgot....what does it matter anyways....?

The first battle they had was in after the Orange Islands. It was Eevee VS Pikachu.

Ofcourse team rocket helps ash all the time!!! I mean come on! Pokemon is about experience, the more they get the better the pokemon become. Team rocket having all these weak pokemon will always lose, and ash pokemon will always get better.

2nd. A lot of times Team rocket will get in the battle, including badge battles and Ash pokemon will beat them easily. Then the gym leader will award ash with a badge not because they battled the gym leader but because they battled team rocket.

I believe they fight early in the second season since on the cover of the movie poke-correal(not sure if spelled correctly) shows both of them on the cover.

WRONG! Not to sound rude but by fighting weak people, and the same person over and over for that matter, you will never learn anything new or get better. THis is not like the game with experience ponts. Besides usually the fight involves one thunderbolt after their generic bot is broken and they are easily blasted away.

I don't think their was too much of this going on anyway. Ash would probably be able to take the leader down after a try anyway.

Team Rocket once in a while helps but rarely. Usually they are stalkers who we know shall never succed in capturing anything.

Gary was pretty dissaponting now that I think about it. He usually just mocked Ash even though they never even battled. Yeah that Evee Batttle was like the first time they squared off I believe.
