View Full Version : Where were you on 9/11/01?

09-27-2007, 04:07 AM
The title pretty much says it all.

Everyone was somewhere, and everyone who was born probably remembers it.

09-27-2007, 04:11 AM
It was a Tuesday, so I was probably in school. Nothing special. Of course, I had no idea what happened/was going to happen.

09-27-2007, 04:33 AM
I got out of school early, so I went home and watched part of the crash and figured it was just a movie

09-27-2007, 05:10 AM
Where did I want to go?
Home as I didn't like school at the time, and because I didn't know what was happening either. ;p

09-27-2007, 07:08 AM
I think I was at home with my Dad.I was only about 5 then,so i don't remember much.

09-27-2007, 07:09 AM
4th grade, in school. :ermm:

09-27-2007, 09:22 AM
I was only 4 but I had a very good sense of politics and new that US and Iraq would begin war. I rememever my cousin in Adelaide ringing us at midnight (Australian time) to tell us to turn the TV on....it was really sshocking and scary when I heard my idol at the time, Ian Thorpe was about to enter the building when the terrorist struck.

09-27-2007, 12:10 PM
I was in school. 5th grade.
Thing is, we lived right across from Manhattan at the time.
So we actually heard it.
And all of us were being called down to the main office because our parents were there to get us.
It was horrible.
For about a few weeks afterwards our town's sky was just gray, and whenever the wind shifted, you smelled debri.

(Lol, I posted this same thing in the remembrance thread. Deja vu.)

09-27-2007, 01:18 PM
I was at school at the time (Softmore in high school) and we were watching it in Art class. Over the next minutes we heard names of students back to back on the announcements advising parents were there to pick them up. My mom was one of them. I went home and just watched with my parents.

09-27-2007, 01:27 PM
I was llittle like 4 or 5
I still have the news pappers form that there in my closit

09-27-2007, 01:44 PM
Oh soooo long ago...

I was 7 then, and i skipped school then XD
So I was playing on this computer, didn't even know what happened. I didn't watch TV back then.
Infact, I was playing an Emulator of Pokemon Red O.O

09-27-2007, 04:35 PM
Playing lego in the hall with my cousin >.>;;

Just after school had finished..

09-27-2007, 04:58 PM
It was my first day of school. Honest!

09-27-2007, 05:32 PM
i was in London having my lunch.

09-27-2007, 05:33 PM
I had just turned 8, and I was in 3rd grade. My teacher had no idea what was going on, she just thought it was weird because by the time I was called out, half of my class had been called out as well.

I was in my house, watching it happen live on TV..... i thought it was some kind of joke at first, then later it actually hit me. I still remember that day as if it happened a week ago

09-27-2007, 06:01 PM
Building a stairway to heaven.

Nah, prolly picking my nose or something. Then my mom rushed in the house and was all like: "Jeff, put on the freakin TV, something cool has happened!"

09-27-2007, 09:55 PM
I remember waking up and turning on the TV, expecting to watch some cartoons, but there was stuff about a building on every channel! I woke my mud and dad up and they were all serious about this weird thing that was going on; I just wondered where my 'toons had gone. Later, when I was told what it was about I understood.

I think this was in the morning of the 12th for me because I'm in Australia.

I was in second grade school year on that day, when I got home my mom explained EXACTLY what happened. XD

09-27-2007, 09:59 PM
I was at school when it happened.

09-27-2007, 10:01 PM
I was in schoo and I was only 6 when it happened so when I came home my parents only told me that a plane had crashed. They didn't explain it was terrorism.

09-28-2007, 01:16 AM
I was in my 5th grade math class I believe. My mom came and pulled me and my sister out of school, and I noticed that many other parents were doing the same. I was confused at first, but saw the news reports when I got home.

09-28-2007, 01:22 AM
I was three. I had no idea what was happening. I was probably crying when my mom started crying. (A lot of family lives in NY, so my mom was probably really worried)

It seems so odd that September 11th just seemed like a normal day at first...

Like most of the people here, I was at school-third grade. We were actually having a party at the moment for something good that we did, although I can't remember what it was. The party was then interuppted by a phone call, then the photos of the towers on fire. I got pulled out of school about an hour later.

09-28-2007, 01:30 AM
I was in 3rd or 4th grade and we had an evacuation.
Nobody told me what happened, though. =P

09-28-2007, 02:17 AM
At home. School got out early. I had no idea. Pretty bad, considering I'm only an hour or so away. ^^;;

09-28-2007, 02:18 AM
I am not really sure, I was like 3 years old so yeah...lol.

I actually only found out about 5 hours after it happened, as I live in New Zealand, and was asleep when it happened. But I remember getting up in the morning, going and sitting down in the living room where my parents were watching the morning news and on it came...

09-28-2007, 03:40 AM
Twas' my second day of third grade...

I was watching the news, actually. I didn't pay it much mind, until my school closed down.

09-28-2007, 09:22 PM
I was off school, and had a lie in

09-28-2007, 09:23 PM
I was in school :/

09-28-2007, 09:27 PM
In school....in class...=|

09-28-2007, 09:33 PM
I was in school, it was like 2nd grade. I had no idea what happened until my friend told me, like, a few days later and I'm like really? no way!

09-28-2007, 09:48 PM
I was Sleeping, I woke up because my Aunt Called and told my Parents to look at the News

09-28-2007, 09:53 PM
Seven years ago? On that day? I was in first grade, in school, I don't quitte remember much else.

09-28-2007, 11:07 PM
I was at home, can't remember why. I remember watching the news, then seeing the main reports/anchorman's face drop as he began reporting the breaking news. I was too young to understand the implications and terror that was unraveling before my eyes on screen, but I do remember my mum having to sit down. The sight was overwhelming.

09-28-2007, 11:10 PM
I was at home getting ready for school in Philippines and I heard the news in a local channel.

They wouldn't let us go to school for like three days. I was somewhere at College Park in Georgia a while back.

The downy place....I mean School........

I had no clue on what was going on when they brought us into the field for the pledge and national anthem.

I was in music class in second grade I didn't know what happened until a few hours later when I stole a view of the news. I remember it came on the announcements but I wasn't paying any attention.

I remember it so well. I got in from school and I look at the news (I used to watch news when I could.) and it said about three plane crashes. Then after about 30 minutes it says about a fourth one. I run into the kitchen and tell my Mum and her boyfriend about it. At the time I was still recovering from my grandfather's death.

I was on a field trip to the state capital. For obvius reasons we turned back and headed home.

09-29-2007, 03:03 PM
I was at school. I think it was 3rd grade, but it could have been 4th. The teachers had some sort of an emergency meeting and gathered us all into one classroom(just this grade of course, not the whole school). They told us about it and shortly after my aunt picked my cousin and myself up. At the time, my cousin was living in my basement and my mom asked my aunt to pick me up with her. The one thing I remember very clearly about that day is a phone call in the morning. My mom left for work early ever day, as she does now, and she would always call me in the morning. She told me to have a good day in school, and that when I got home we would go get slurpee's or something from 7-11. When I got home I was upset about not getting that slurpee, being about 9 or 10 I really didn't understand what the fuss was about. My brother was also supposed to have his first guitar lesson that day... It's strange I can recall so much, normally I can't.

09-29-2007, 03:37 PM
I was at my cousins birthday party, screaming and swearing because I cut my thumb on a knife. I was told if you swear a bad thing happens later that day, after the crash, now I never swear unless certain reasons.

09-30-2007, 02:58 AM

Sleeping. :sleepy:

What about 90 percent of the other people who will post here were doing that day. Going to school, attempting to learn.

10-27-2007, 02:08 AM
Copy cat!
I was busy killing someone for copying a thread I made about that day.

10-27-2007, 02:25 AM
*shrug* Probably sleeping. No idea what time it happened, it really doesn't matter to me. When I found out, I probably said something like; "oh, what a shame," and then continued with my life.

10-27-2007, 02:45 AM
I really don't know. I was a wii' lad back then.

10-27-2007, 03:28 AM
I was playing on the computer.

10-27-2007, 04:19 AM
Lol, at school, or sleeping. Depends on what time it happened...

10-27-2007, 04:22 AM
I was listening to the news on the way to school. =/ I know someone who's sister was born that day. :o

I was five, at school, then heard it the next day and said: "What's a terrorist and Twin Towers?"

My mom didn't answer, too busy staring at the TV.

10-27-2007, 12:13 PM
I was 10 sitting down reading in my 5th grade class getting ready to go to block when an administrator came in and said something to my teacher that made her burst into tears. I came home and watched some news and my parents explained what had just happened.

10-27-2007, 12:37 PM
I was in school. My teacher told the class nothing.

10-27-2007, 05:03 PM
Can anyone please inform me why this thread was unlocked?

It should have been done with, forgotten.

10-27-2007, 05:26 PM
Can anyone please inform me why this thread was unlocked?

It should have been done with, forgotten.

Because someone revived it, and then it was locked.
Then, someone got permission to make another one because they liked the idea.
Instead of having two, some G-Mod probably merged them and unlocked this one.

10-28-2007, 04:23 PM
I was in grade 8 and we had an assembly in the gym to watch the news..other than that it was a pretty normal day
