It died. D:
No, actually, the GS Ball kind of... disappeared from the anime after that one or two episodes, if I can remember correctly. (if you're talking about the show) :|
If it's game related, then I have no idea.

No one knows what happened to it after Ash gave it to Kurt, nor does anyone know what was in it in the first place. There have been millions of theories as to what happened to it after that. Some think it was just to promote the upcoming release of pokemon Gold and Silver (hence the name 'GS ball' and the fact that the ball was gold and silver.) Others think that Kids WB just forgot about it. But since the GS ball has never been heard of since, no one can say for sure.

Correct. He gave it to Ivy. I watched the anime religiously and I remember!

Do you mean after he gave it to Kurt in Johto? Because I remember Ash going to get the GS Ball from Ivy, but after that, the only other time I remember seeing her was in Pokemon the Movie 2000...and then Brock had some kind of problem with her. I kinda wish I watched more of the anime back then...so many of my questions unanswered...

Professor Ivy couldn't send the ball to Professor Oak, because for some reason the trans-porter would not take the ball. So, Professor Oak sent out Ash and co to go get it. After winning the Orange League cup, Ash returns back to Pallet Town along with the GS ball, and then giving it to Professer Oak. Professor Oak couldn't figure out what the ball was, what was inside it or what it's pupose was however. So Professer Oak decides to give the ball to Kurt, a poke ball architect. But because of the trans-porter problem, Professer Oak is unable to do so. So, Ash and co are sent out to go give the ball to Kurt. After that however, the ball was never heard of again. That is, if I remember correctly.

Yay, my memory isn't fadding away after all. ^.^ I've still always wondered what was in the GS ball though. But, as some people say, it may just of been to promote pokemon Gold and Silver. My friend always used to believe that there was a Lugia in the GS ball.

Meh that ball has probably been forgotten, that or the writers don't like to have plots that span over multiple episodes as it would make you realize that the show could be good with thoses, but that would require the writers to actually be creative and I believe that is measures they are not willing to take. :P
Others think that Kids WB just forgot about it. But since the GS ball has never been heard of since, no one can say for sure.
Well these "others" are definetly wrong as Kids WB does NOT make pokemon, a japanese company makes it and then we just translate it.

well they could of done more with that story, but they just let it slip away to nothing and that was the end of the gs ball  shame really, i wanted to know about it, it was something to add to the series

Umm, no, Kids WB did not create pokemon, but it does run the anime in other countries OUTSIDE Japan. After all, at almost all the beginning of each movie, the Kids WB logo comes up. However, I think Nintendo has taken over the anime now like they took over the trading card game. Wizards of the coast used to make the trading cards before EX Ruby and Sapphire came out.

Kurt still has it till this date. End of story. No-one knows the porpous of the ball and I don't think we ever will.
But heres a Quote from Bulbapedia
In the Pokémon Special manga
According to the Pokémon Special manga, the GS Ball was created by the Mask of Ice from the feathers of Lugia and Ho-Oh to capture Celebi. Only the feathers of the two Legendary Pokémon could contain Celebi, and prevent their holder from suffering the ill effects of time travel. Gold was able to use his Pichu to destroy it and set Celebi free.
It's been destroyed then?

Only in the manga, not in the animé.

First of it is just North America, in case you didn't know, where Kids WB is run and second I was just correcting you because you said:

That sentence makes no sense as Kids WB doesn't create the show or even translate it for that matter, thus making them having nothing to do with the plot line. WB merely put the show on their channel.
Also the manga has nothing to do with the anime so whatever happens in their doesn't happen in the anime thus leaving the GS ball still hanging around. Hey at least somebody didn't forget about it though.

I think Ash forgot all about it. If my memory severs right. He said, he will come back for it after he finished the Johto ChampionShips.

Ya..i mean after Ash gave it to Kurt...because the GS ball just suddenly dissapeared throughout the anime series..and never mentioned! Any news?

In the Japanese version of Crystal supposedly, the GS ball was supposed to be given to you by some guy after you got all 16 badges and you put it in the forest shrine, then the shrine will dissapear and you can catch Celibi.. I cant rember if it was in Pokemon 4 ever or not, but no one really cought Celeibi

I was saying that no one can say for sure what happened to the GS ball. Kids WB does indeed not create the show, but that still doesn't mean people know what happened to the GS ball. So, as I said, no can say for sure what happened to the GS ball. Only the creators know that. And nintendo used to have nothing to do with the anime if I remember correctly. Someone else made the anime (not Kids WB) before nintendo. I think I remember that the creator of pokemon (sorry, can't spell his name XD) not being too happy about people making a show of his games since he was worried that it may give pokemon a bad name. But he liked the anime once it was made. But as I said, I think nintendo makes the anime now. I am not sure though. And, Kids WB runs or used to run the anime in Britain too. I should know, I live there.

If you're referring to 4Kids, its not them. They just dubbed it (terribly). The anime is made in Japan and is overseen by Nintendo. Nintendo always had something to do with the anime, because they had to license the brand to the Japanese studio that made it. Satoshi Tajiri also had a hand in the anime as well.
And to answer the question, it was never established...

Ughhh I was just correcting your statement, I never said you where wrong about the ball. 2nd as for the kids WB thing I was using wikipedia so if its wrong that is why. 3rd the statement you are saying is incorrect and Rust has the correct answer. Okay To just end this discussion the GS Ball has become lost in the plot.

No, I wasn't referring to them. I wasn't sure who made the very first series of the anime. I thought it was someone other than nintendo, but as I said, I couldn't remember.

Sorry, wasn't trying to annoy you. I know nothing when it comes to the anime since I stopped watching it after Pokemon Advance. In my opinion, the anime just became terrible after that.

Heh I'm not annoyed so don't worry about it. I stopped watching the anime far sooner then that just so you know, halfway through second season to be exact. I just skimed the Johto adventures. MMm that GS Ball might pop up later, with aruceus maybe, but its probably long forgotten now.

Probably. All of the old pokemon Ash used to have seem to have been forgotten now too, like Butterfree and Pidgeot. And I think I remember Ash saying he would come back for Pidgeot, but he never did.

I think that the GS ball vanished just as fast as Johto was wiped off the map.

To answer the topic question, it has vanished without a trace, much like the bomb in Treasure Master if you leave the screen and come back.
Wow... I think this is one of the shortest posts I've ever made...
