I like Paul better. Sure, he acts like a jerk, but it could have just been something that's happened in the past. He could've had a bad childhood, or has good reasoning for the way he acts. After all, he releases the pokemon he's not going to use, INSTEAD OF LETTING THEM ROT IN THE BOX SYSTEM like a certain someone else....*coughashcogh*

If it were earlier seasons, I would've picked Ash...but now he's just lame. Paul actually makes the episode somewhat interesting....

I prefer Paul over Ash anyday.
Ash just gets on my nerves and is one of the reasons why I don't watch Pokemon anymore. ;p (also the fact that the anime sucks and is not improving)

I have no real problem with Paul, as for Ash...Its been how long and he still is well...rather slow? I have problems with May, she just doesn't fit the whole Pokemon vibe to me. "Oh, I'm going to enter contest and pretend to know nothing about the world of Pokemon!" I seriously have no clue what they were thinking when they introduced her and Max. Brock though! OMG! You'd figure him going after every girl he sees would have died out by now, but NO! They just keep doing the same old jokes. Thus making the entire series more repetitive. :? Do they even have a shred of imagination any more?

Yeah though, I have problems with a lot of the characters. I just wished they actually used that thing they call a brain every so often! :3

One thing that really irks me is how I've watched Pokemon for like, over three years and Ash never gets any taller and sometimes - even though he's Mr. great-and-mighty-with-lots-of-experience-you'd-think-he'd-know-better - he still makes stupid mistakes. Like I remember an episode in the Hoen region or something where he tried to catch a pokemon without weakening it first and May had to correct him...

Paul seems a lot more logical to me but he may be the first character/rival in Pokemon whose genuinely mean. And to tell you the truth it's refreshing...
